Service Units
The range of MTU products available for genset These place the customer in a position to match the
packagers does not end with the engine and the electronic MDEC engine management system
MDEC system components which are integrated quickly and independently to his specific require-
directly into the plant. Wherever required, service ments, to verify its functions and to evaluate the
units are also included in our scope of supply. parameters measured.
Dialogue Unit
A large number of individual functions are inte-
grated into our MDEC engine management system.
To facilitate optimised matching of the system to
the individual engine/plant operating conditions it
is possible to modify certain control parameters.
These software modifications are realised with the
aid of a dialogue unit which can be connected with
the electronic engine control unit via an associated
interface.
In addition, the dialogue unit offers the possibility
of acquisition and immediate evaluation of exten-
sive measured data, even with the engine in ope-
ration.
MDEC X1 Simulator
Customers need not provide any existing external
control systems, as the MDEC X1 simulator en-
ables to simulate all binary and analogue in- and
output signals at the interface provided for link up
to the customer system [X1 plug]. The MDEC
controller is used to supply and regulate the
necessary power. The simulator is equipped with
jacks for all binary and analogue outputs and for
the two CAN buses. The speed set value can be
simulated by means of a potentiometer.
Connection of the MTU dialogue device possible
via additional plug.
MDEC X2 Simulator
With the MDEC simulator it is possible to produce
artificial operating conditions for the engine
management system, including some critical ones.
It is thus possible to verify whether or not the
MDEC system and the genset control react correct-
ly to limit value transgressions (alarms) and that it
functions correctly.
