1.1 Product Introduction

JPX321-BM2-96F series broad band modules and AS-8K back-plug splitter

are used to deploy ADSL service. DSLAM signals can be separated from

POTS signals at the office end if AS-8K is inserted.

1.1.1 JPX321-BM2-96F Broad band module

The appearance of JPX321-BM2-96F module is shown as Figure1:

JPX321-BM2-96F 128-loop broad band modules are used to terminate intra-

office cable and connect jumper, as well as test and open circuit.

The dimension of JPX321-BM2-96F module is:

H×W×D=248×160×100mm；

1.1.2 AS-8K voice splitter

AS-8K voice splitter is a back-plug device, which is used with JPX321-BM2-

96F module to separate the narrowband signals and broad band signals.

The appearance of AS-8K is shown as Figure 2.

1.1.3 Accessories

The accessories include IDC tool, testing plug, switching plug and open-

circuit plug, and etc.

1.JPX-DXD2 IDC tool

JPX-DXD2 IDC tool is an insulation layer displacement and air-sealing

connection tool with wire-cutting device. This IDC tool contains hooks for

disconnection, shown as following:

2、JPX321-BM2-CSS1 series testing plug

It is applicable to JPX321-BM2-96F series modules. It is a front plug-in

device, which is used in broadband mode. When it is used, the splitter

should be removed.

3、open-circuit plug JPX658-KLS

Open-circuit plug is a front plug-in insulating plastic unit for the

disconnection on JPX321 series module. Two plugs are needed to

disconnect each loop.

4.JPX321-BM2-ZLS2 series switching plug

It is applicable to JPX321-BM-128A/B series modules and JPX321-BM-64B

modules ;

In expansion mode : connect POTS signal and disconnect the DSL signals;

In new-building mode: connect DSL signal and disconnect the POTS

signals.

1.2 Installation of JPX321-BM2-96F Module

Take off the 16 8-loop strips from JPX321-BM2-96F module with tools, such

as screwdriver.

There are 6 installing holes on the support of JPX321-BM2-96F broadband

module to give facility for user installation. There are 2 installation mode,

shown as following:

1.3.1 Cabling management for DSLAM data cable ,voice cable and jumpers

Remove the 8-loop module strip first when deploying the DSLAM cable;

When deploying the DSLAM cables, remove the jacket of data cables and

voice cables of DSLAM and organize these cables first; and group the

cables into 8-loop/bundle ; fasten the cable bundles to the sub-crossbar on

MDF with proper margin remained.

Then clamp the cables.

The jumpers of internal and external lines are managed through the cable-

guiding ear, in which the internal line jumpers are led to the corresponding

module strip via the guiding-holes and then clamped; the external line

jumpers are led to the corresponding module strip via the space between

the strips and then clamped, as shown in Figure 8.

1. Coloring the 8-pair cables led to the back of the module strip with color

mark;

2. Threading the cables according to the color mark respectively

corresponding to the order of silk-screens 0-7 on the module；

3. Fastening the cables from the threading trays to the front of module strip

with cable ties；

4. Clamping each cable to the front of the module strip with IDC tool.

1.3.2 Deploying the DSLAM data cable ,voice cable ,external line
jumper, narrowband jumper

The relationship of DSLAM data cable （ DATA ） 、 DSLAM voice

cable（VOICE）、external line jumper（JUMPER） and narrowband jumper

for PSTN is shown as Figure 8.

1.4 Usage of Voice Splitter and Accessories

1.4.1 Usage of Voice Splitter

Voice splitter is plugged in the back of JPX321-BM2-96F modules. There is

an anti-reverse plugging structure is set in it.

Plug the voice splitter into the slot of the 8-loop module bar. Make sure it is

in position, shown as following:

For splitter maintenance, loosen the two captive screws on the module, turn

downwards （ limited position 75° ） ,and pull out the splitter to give some

proper maintenance. Make the module return to its original position after

maintenance, shown as following:

1.4.2 Usage of testing plug and open-circuit plug

Insert the testing plug and open-circuit plug into the broadband module,

shown as following:

1.4.3 Usage of switching plug

Switching plug is a front plug-in unit. There is anti-reverse plugging

structure. Insert the plug into the corresponding slot of 8-loop module and

ensure it reach the designed position, shown as following:

1.4.4 Usage of IDC tool ---JPX-DXD2

The IDC tool clamps each conductor into corresponding terminal. After

pushing in position, it will automatically cut off the burrs, shown as following:
