ABSTRACT

This study was conducted to determine the Potential of Lemon, Potato,

and Sodium Chloride (salt) as Sources of Electricity. Lemon, Potato, and

Sodium Chloride (salt) contain citric acid, ion, and an electrolyte that allows

electricity to flow. Based on data gathered lemon and potato produced the total

voltage of 0.34v. Potato produced 0.22v than lemon with 0.14v. But salt was

produced 0.66v it is higher than lemon and potato. Overall total of 1.02 v. The

combination of materials generated the highest amount of voltage with the total

of 1.62v at all. We the researcher use ANOVA Test with a 95% degree of

freedom. The overall computed value is 6.33 and the tabular value is 3.65.

Based on the result the null hypothesis is rejected.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

A great project like this requires a lot of effort and help. For the people

who help us to compute this project we thank you all for guiding us throughout

the time process. We extend our gratitude, as always to our family who supports

and pray for us when we almost gave up. We thank them for believing in us and

they give us motivation and courage to do well for other projects like this. I would

like to express our special thanks to our Practical Research II teacher, Mr Ryan

Jay C. Verbo who guided us to our adviser, Mrs Jennifer F. Lacanilao for also

helping us and supporting us for this investigatory project. To our supportive

friends, let we thanks you as well. To our classmates who are willing to help and

to add other suggestions, thanks a lot. Lastly, to God that is always there for us.

His spirit of great power and knowledge strengthen us to build and create new

things for the better future in for the society. All of them are our inspiration. We

owe you a lot.

APPENDIX

The acidity of fruit juice acts as an electrolyte that conducts electricity.

Such as oranges, grapefruits, limes and lemons have high acidity levels. Potato

has 407 milligrams of potassium, which acts as a conduit for electrical power.

Vegetables that conduct electricity due to their potassium and ionic content are

tomatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes and cucumbers. In addition lemon can

produced 7/10 of one volt of electricity. (By Meredith Jameson, 2017)

10 of the most shocking statistics: Americans threw away 165 million dollars

of food each year. 40% of food is wasted in the United States every year. 35

million tons of food is wasted in United States each year. The average American

household throws away 300 Lbs. of food per year. 20 lbs. Of food is wasted per

person every month in the United States. 20% of food that the average

American buys is never eaten. 90% of food is thrown away too soon. Food

waste in American has grown by 204% since 1960 and 50% since 1990.

Reducing food waste by just 15% would be enough to feed more than 25 million

Americans every year (Posted by. Pietà pini 2017).
