Research Methodology

In this chapter, the researchers will present the research design, research
instruments, local and population of the study, data gathering instruments and
procedures, and statistical treatment of data.

Research Design

The researchers will use quantitative-descriptive design method in this study.

This design will be used to gather data regarding the level of knowledge on sex
education among the senior high school students in STI. It will be used to gather
information including the respondents’ age, gender, and strand. In this study, the
researchers will conduct a survey using questionnaires in gathering data. The
researchers should understand and have an openness of mind when it comes to their
respondents’ answers and should keep the answers private and confidential since the
study is sensitive to others.

Locale and Population of the Study

The research will be conducted at STI College Baguio, located at No.01 Private
Road, New Lucban Baguio City, 2600. According to Google Map, the campus is located
approximately 1400 meters through Upper Bonifacio St. and 1600 meters through
General Luna Road from the heart of Session Road.
 There are 240 students from different strand and grade level enrolled for the
school year 2019-2020.

Data Gathering Instrument

The tool that the researchers will use in gathering data is a questionnaire. The
questionnaire will be floated to the different grade level and strand of STI students. The
questionnaire is comprised of three sections.

The first section is a letter for the respondents asking their consent on answering
the questionnaire.

The second section is the place where the respondents put their demographic
profile consisting of age, religion, ethnicity and type of school graduated.

The third section is where the respondents will answer specific questions about
sex education.
Data Gathering Procedure

The researchers will go to different rooms where Senior High School students
from different strand and will introduce the topic of the research to the respondents.
The researchers will also instruct the respondents on what need to be done to the
questionnaires given.

Statistical Treatment of Data

Response to the questionnaire will be statistically analyzed to the requirements

of this research Students will be statistically analyzed by the study. Descriptive statistics
will be used to gather the date needed which will be treated with the frequency count
and mean.

We use Likert Scale to measure the Level of knowledge on sex education among
Senior high school students.
