Dear Sir,

I have the honor to submit my thesis proposal entitled, “​Bahay Manila: An Affordable &
Sustainable Socialized Housing Project in Recto, Metro Manila, Philippines​" as a partial
requirement for the degree of Bachelor of Science in Architecture. With the goal of giving the
people/locals a livable space and market/commercial area where they can have their skills and
jobs as their source of income through community interaction and focus on maintaining the
place they can call their own. The following are its project objectives

1. To centralize the activities of the people in a space to maximize foot traffic;

2. To provide a comfortable and affordable living space for every family while
providing space for future expansion; and
3. To let the residents behave in a proper manner towards their living spaces and to their
environmental spaces as well.

1. Implementing communal and public spaces for residents that would encourage
community activities between themselves;
2. Designing a dwelling space that is sanitary and fit for living conditions to ensure the
best lifestyle for the residents; and
3. Promoting programs, education, and training to the community to encourage
appropriate behaviour that they normally cannot afford by any means

Upon the approval of this proposal, it is understood that I shall proceed with the research
work and submit it on the designated date. Justification and other requirements for the
proposal are included herewith.
