(Observations N developments of islamic culture in

modern life)
Assalamu ‘alaikum
Alhamdulillah wa hidil qahhar...
First of all, let's pray and thank unto our god
Allah SWT, the lord of this world who has been
giving us mercies and blessings that we cannot
count so we can attend and gather in this
unforgettable place in good condition and happy
situation.
Secondly, may sholawat and salam always be
with our best prophet Muhammad SAW, who has
guided us to know and do the right thing to live in
this world namely Islam, the religion which guides
mercy to all worlds.
Thirdly, i’d like to say “thank U very much” to
the master of ceremony for giving me to deliver a
speech
Standing in front of U all, to present my speech
under tittle “Observations N developments of
islamic culture in modern life”
Perhaps it is not wrong if I open this speech
about welfare fraternity with pearls of wisdom that
are quite well known, especially among Muslim
scholars, namely:
‫الناس صنفان إما أخ لك في الدين أو نظير لك في اإلنسانية‬
“Humans are twofold: your brother in religion or
your partner in humanity”
Aphorisms used for Imam Ali ra. it revealed the
existence of two bonds. It also revealed that the
rope of religious equality (ukhuwwah diniyyah) did
not break the rope of humanity — not as some
people believe that religion can break the rope of
humanity. The two bonds are called side by side to
arouse human awareness about the need for human
ties; also to emphasize the urgency of both in
building a world full of harmony and peace, despite
different ethnicities and religions.
Generally speaking, Islam differs from
Christianity in that it does not distinguish between
the political and the religious, and provides a
complete system within which all aspects of life
submit to the service of religion. The prophet
Mohammed, after all, belonged to the
socio‐political order of tribal Arabia, and thus had
direct claim to dominion—the new religion
provided the legitimacy for his ascent to power. This
made religion's involvement in all aspects of life
germane to the culture of Islamic societies, a
situation that has been exploited by different
fractions at different times to suppress any
“unwarranted democratic” trends. Increasingly, most
Islamic societies became rife with taboos and codes,
where the cultural, religious, and political mix and
match according to the context to quell any
attempts at breaking out of these taboos.
Islamic culture is not created by the community,
but a culture sourced from teachings Islamic.
but today our problem, Then, even worse,
religious affairs stakeholders or people who hold
fast to outdated traditions also take part in
preserving these problems through the sermons,
guidance, and attitudes they take, so the problem
gets harder.
Some of them believe that doing good to non-
Muslims or just greeting or saying goodbye when
commemorating national holidays or religious
holidays is an act that is prohibited by Islam. I say,
how can there be such beliefs, while the Qur'an
which is read by Muslims every day says:
q.s mumtahana:8
“Allah does not forbid you from doing good
and sharing (property to maintain good relations)
with those who do not fight you in religious matters
and do not drive you out of your hometown”
Although the word tabarruhum (doing good)
includes giving material to them, but the word of
God: tuqsitu confirms one type of good deed.
Ibn al-'Arabiy said in his book, (Ahkam al-
Qur'an), "The phrase is meaningful: you give a
portion of your treasure to them to maintain good
relations, and are not intended to point out the
meaning of justice, because to be fair must be
taken, both to people who fights us and those who
don't fight us. Allah SWT. said, "And let not your
hatred of a people encourage you to be unjust.
Applies fair. Because (fair) is closer to piety. "
In the development of modern-day Islam,
Muslims arose their awareness of the importance of
the teachings of Islam in accordance with the
teachings carried by the Prophet Muhammad so
that it can be used as a way of life. because Muslims
are far from the teachings of the Prophet
Muhammad that is many deviations from the source
of origin, heresy, superstition, occultism,
shamanism, shamanism, etc. are very widespread
and almost like the life of Jahiliyah. With the
condition of these Muslims, reformers emerged,
namely a purification movement of the teachings of
Islam that is in accordance with teachings that
originate from the Qur'an and Hadith.
Now, we enter in Indonesia case. Religion can
develop in Indonesia because its people are open,
and easily accepted because it solidifies solidarity.
Religion also manifests in the life of the nation,
its values become the spirit in the constitution and
become part of the legislation, including the law on
the elections.
Cultural complexity, including economic,
political and social aspects, is very influential in
expressing religion. Lukman rate, that's why the face
of diversity can be different in each place according
to existing conditions.
cultural complexity which includes social,
political and economic elements greatly influences
the way people express their religious beliefs.
"That is why, the face of diversity can vary from
place to place according to conditions," said the
Minister of Religion.
The Minister of Religion conveyed, in Indonesia
there are at least four ways in which various
communities; First, traditional or religious based on
tradition. Religious people by following the tradition
and standard of ritual that is passed down through
generations. Second, formal or religious based on
formality or imitating the various ways of the
authorities or influential figures. There is a saying
that popular religion is the religion of kings.
Concluding remarks:
the development of Islam in the modern age
can be addressed with this history can provide ideas
and high creativity to make changes so that more
advanced in an effective and efficient way, the
problems of the past can be a lesson in the same
field at a later time, renewal can conducted in
various fields of economics, education, politics and
so forth.
