Introduction
• Hybrid Electrical System (HES), combined various promising devices like a Fuel
Cell, a battery and a super capacitor, is an attractive issue. This system was
qualified by its high efficiency for electrical vehicle applications.

• Several types of Electric Vehicles (EVs), such as pure Hybrid Electric Vehicles
(HEVs) and PEMFC Electric Vehicles (FCEVs) have begun to appear on the World
to solve air pollution. In support, the PEMFC hybrid electrical system (HES) is an
attacking candidate source due to its great autonomy, its high power density, its
lowest operating temperatures and its smallest size.

• The batteries were selected to solve these PEMFC limits because of its reliability as
an energy storage system.
HEV SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
• RES deals with full supply the electrical load using the Fuel Cell subsystem (FC)
as the main power source. This subsystem aims to ensure the full power demand. To
oversee the transient power events, a supercapacitor subsystem (SC) is included.
• To minimize the difference between the required load power and the generated FC
power, a battery subsystem is integrated. Each system component is connected to a
controlled chopper. A unidirectional boost converter is associated with the FC.
• Meanwhile, a bidirectional is associated with the battery and a supercapacitor
component to compensate the power demand and to sustain the unsupported power.
To improve the system efficiency a PMU is effectively developed to intelligently
manage the energy production and consumption.
• In addition, the proposed algorithm aims to improve the system durability and
performance, respectively, as a function of the hydrogen consumption rate and the
state of the Supercapacitor / battery charges.

Conclusion

• we have evaluated the proposed HES combined FC and battery to ensure an

electrical load demand using an accurate PMU.
• The system evaluation depended on the proposed power consumption profile. In
addition, the included PMU has been arranged according to the current inputs of the
FC source. Finally, our design was evaluated through the simulation results.
