EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

CHAPTER 1

PRELIMINARY SECTIONS

This chapter primarily discusses the introduction, background of the study,

statement of the problem, framework of the study and the definition of terms.

INTRODUCTION

Filipino’s are hygienic and conscious in their surroundings. They want their

place to be neat and clean to whatever way they can do. Marie Kondo once said that

“The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that

environment”. In this generation, people tend to do their task in the most convenient

and easiest way.

As the population of the Philippines increases, the demand for cleaning

materials also increases. The demand for cleaning materials by business establishments

also increases. Cleaning products play an essential role in our daily lives by providing

public health benefits to consumers beyond the obvious aesthetic benefits. It enable us

to remove soils and stains from a surface and to restore the surface to its original

condition. But most of the business today is focusing on a product that will catch the

attention of the younger generation, like gadgets, clothing, food etc. They forgot that

cleaning materials is also needed by people in the society to maintain the cleanliness of

the surrounding. That’s inspire the proponents to produce an innovation of floor scrub

brush.

3
PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MUNTINLUPA

College of Business Administration

Our business “EASquickY” Clean bears the vision of to be recognized as a

leader in the distribution and manufacturing of innovative cleaning product across

multiple industries. Floor brush helps household to clean the floor easily and quickly.

Innovating an existing product is not that easy. Currently, the numbers of new

products are not all that in demand because most of them has the same features and use.

As a student we believe that our product has a potential to compete on our competitors.

And we decide to innovate a product that will help the households and maintenance of

the business to easily clean the floor.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

The proponents chose this product because we want to help people create a

cleaner and hygienic life environment, which in turn contributes to a more healthy and

pleasant living. People are having a hard time going back and forth just to fetch water

when cleaning their floor. That’s what make the proponents focus on innovating the

floor scrub brush. By developing, producing and distributing smart, affordable and

effective cleaning tools we want to reduce the time needed for cleaning. This way we

can contribute to a hygienic, greener world and more fun in life for everybody.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

This feasibility study is intended to evaluate the feasibility of EASquickY

Clean. Specifically, it aims to evaluate and analyze the following aspects: Market,

Technical and Operations, Organizational and or Management, Financial, Legal and

Socio-Economic.

INDUSTRY ANALYSIS

The proponents search for a report/article to prove that the industry the

proponents want to venture is in-demand. According to the latest market research report

by Technavio (a leading global technology research and advisory company), the global

household cleaning products market is expected to post a CAGR of over 5% during the

period 2018-2022. A key factor driving the growth of the market is product innovation

and portfolio extension. To sustain innovation in the intensely competitive household

cleaning products market, vendors are coming up with new product formulations and

21
PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MUNTINLUPA

College of Business Administration

subsequent launches. Moreover, manufacturers are implementing technological

advancements. Such recent innovations in the global household cleaning products

market have been successful in increasing the sale of household cleaners which is

driving the growth of the overall global market.

COMPETITIVE EDGE

EasyClean can easily penetrate into the market because it is a new kind of floor

scrub brush. It will be an attraction to the customers. There are no other business that

offer the same features of floor scrub brush that we will offer. Our production area is

near the location of our store which is an advantage also because we can easily deliver

the needed supplies. The store is in the location that draws large number of population.

Although the store will be located at Alabang Market, it will still be well ventilated,

clean and organize. Our personnel are properly groomed and presentable which is a

factor that you cannot see in the nearby stores.

F. MARKETING AND SALES STRATEGY

PRODUCT STRATEGY

EAsquickY Clean upgrades the existing floor scrub brush in the market.

Innovation is a mean to capture mass or niche market share. Our product will have hose

attachment, with built-in liquid detergent container, and adjustable handle. Since it has

a hose attachment, the user doesn’t have to go back and forth just to fetch water when

scrubbing their floors. It will be convenient to use for the customers. Another feature

of our product is that its brush is replaceable. Once the brush was already blunt, the

22
PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MUNTINLUPA

customer will not need to replace the whole item but the brush itself only. It also has a

variety of colours which are red, blue, and green that the customers can choose from.

customers who want to make their cleaning chores easier. It will also target business

establishments which use floor scrub brush when cleaning their facilities.

Market as the ideal location for our store because it has a heavy customer traffic. There

are many establishments around the area. It is also highly accessible through various

forms of public transportation such as jeepneys and buses which travels to different

places. Locating our business at Alabang Market is more cost-effective given its

competitive pricing. Rates are relatively cheaper compared to malls.

Our production area will be located at IlayaAlabang, which is owned by one of

the proponents. It will save us from the rental expenses, and it is also near to the location

of our store.

Distribution Strategy

Aside from allocating a store for selling our product, we will distribute the

product by means of intensive distribution. We will supply our product to many retail

outlets so that it will be available to many customers.

23
PAMANTASAN NG LUNGSOD NG MUNTINLUPA

College of Business Administration

PRICING STRATEGY

The pricing structure of the product must be taken into great consideration

because the demand of the product will depend on its price. If the price is high, there is

a tendency that the demand will be low. EASquickY Clean will use penetration pricing

as a strategy. The price of our floor scrub brush will be introduce at a low price that is

affordable for the customer to increase our sales and market share. This strategy will

also help in promoting the product by means of word-of-mouth by the customers. The

price will be subject to change depending on the cost of the production, raw materials

and other instances related to the expenses incurred by the business, and will increase

once the business has already gained a considerable percentage of market shares.

 CAPITAL EXPENDITURES, MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS, SOURCES

AND ESTIMATED COST

The proponents decided to rent a space at Alabang Market for the location of

the store. We can’t find yet any suitable property to buy for the store location. It will

be an advantage for the business since current cash flow is of vital importance, and it

will limit our maintenance duties for the area. Renting also enable the business to retain

mobility since we can transfer to other location when needed. The company doesn’t

need to have a mortgage just to buy a property.

The production area are owned by one of the owner. We chose that as the best

location for our production and we prefer it to be owned so that we have a full control

of the property. It is an advantage in the sense that land value is appreciating. We can

establish a winning production location since the production doesn’t need to be moved

time to time.

 TRANSPORTATION MODE

EasyClean as a start-up business, we will choose the land transportation

as our transportation mode. We will provide a second hand multi-cab vehicle as our

company car that will be used for the delivery of our product. From our production,

we will transport our finished product to our store located at Alabang Market.
