WHY IS SPIRITUALITY IMPORTANT?

Sense of meaninglessness and lack of purpose in life can be significant factors in causing anxiety, depression, and phobias;

Why it is so? Because somewhat in your life you are looking for direction or losing your sense of direction. Why is important to be aware of—

let me just call it not self diagnosed diseases but incontrollable conditions that are very relevant in today’s generation. however, there is a growing body of
evidence *there are and still indicating that spiritual practices are associated with better health and well-being.

“Regardless of the variation of our belief, traditions, and religion, I am speaking by heart, that when you feel hopeless, and things and life is a little bit
shaky and rocky and you don’t know what to do, all you have to try and to keep in mind is to always believe, in the unbelievable.”

Many spiritual traditions encourage participation in a community.

Spiritual fellowship (such as attending church or meditation group) can be a source of social support that may provide a sense of belonging, security, and
community. Strong relationships have been proven to increase well-being and bolster life expectancy, which is perhaps why one study found a strong
association between church attendances and improve health, mood, and well-being. For me there is no religion that teaches one being to do
evil, I personally believe that. Because when it is helping you to grow spiritually, You cannot question his faith. Am I right?

Contemplative practices can be broadly understood as a method to develop concentration, deepen understanding and insight, Cultivate awareness and
compassion.

Examples of contemplative practices:

1.MEDITATION- mental exercise (such as focusing on one’s breathing or repeating a mantra) for the purpose of reaching a heightened level of spiritual
awareness.– A clear mind makes you more productive. Meditation helps us detach. We learn to live in the here and now, rather than
worrying about the past or future. We do not worry about meaningless things, but see the bigger picture.Meditation enables us to have
a deeper understanding of our inner self. Through meditation we can gain a better understanding of our life’s purpose.

2. PRAYER- a spiritual communion with God (or an object of worship) as in supplication, thanksgiving, adoration, or confession. Prayer is a very simple
thing: communication with God. Though often directed heavenward, the reverse can also be true. Therefore, prayer is not a mere
repetition of words, a position of the body, or a means to participate in a religious society. Prayer is the human heart before its maker.
It is appropriate anytime and ideally, all the time.

3. YOGA- a Hindu spiritual and ascetic discipline. In western culture, yoga is a system of physical postures, breathing techniques, and sometimes meditation to
promote physical and emotional well-being. The importance of yoga, what makes it different from any other exercise measure is
that yoga helps in attaining mental peace, as well as the meditation that yoga teaches you, will help you to practice deep breathing,
uniting the body, mind and soul and coming to an equilibrium with yourself.

4. JOURNALIZING- studies show that writing during difficult times may help you find meaning in life’s challenges and help you become more resilient in the
face of obstacles.

Three Ways of Finding Meaning in Life

1. Through our Actions

We often find meaning in life through our actions, or the things we do. Your actions as well is your expression in life. What you do, is who you are.
You do things because you love doing that, you live in that kind of life. And you find meaning in that.

2. Through our Connections

We find meaning through our connections, or who we love. It involves our relationships with spouse, family, and friends and with God or the sacred.
By opening our hearts up to another, we give them a path to greater understanding of everything that makes us who we are—which in turn leads to a
physical connection that is more fulfilling and exciting than we ever dreamed possible.
3. Through our Suffering
We find meaning of life in situation in which we are unable to engage in much meaningful action and separated from the one’s they love. A person
lives their life in the midst of suffering can instill a sense of meaning. There is one very obvious benefit of pain. It keeps us from seriously hurting ourselves.
When you touch something hot, you instantly pull away because of pain. If you did not feel the pain, you might burn yourself seriously without realizing it.
Pain tells us when we have an illness or injury that needs to be treated. Pain can save our lives in this way
