User Instruction
Entering waypoint data:
Only fill in data in the cells marked by green colour (in this page), course, distance and
remaining distance is calculated automatically.
By default course legs are calculation as rhomb lines (RL), but optionally they can be
calculated as great circles (GC).
By using “Tab” the marker will jump to the next editable cell automatically.
The data entered is much the same way you would enter them on the GPS, form WP nn1 to
WP nn2 is a RL by course XXXº and a distance xxx,x.
Protection:
This workbook is protected with a password (bent), it should only be unprotected if it is

necessary to change some of the headings or footer (Prepared By, approved By and read by
etc..). The protection will also prevent unintentionally change of or erasing of formulas
entered in calculation cells. When protecting after changes has been made, uncheck
OBJECTS before protecting with the same name (i.e. bent). When done go to Save As on
the File menu and select Save As type ‘Template (*.xlt)’, choose Navigation folder and
Save the file with the same name.
Saving to File:
As long as you use a template you can save the file by clicking on the diskette symbol. Default name is
Passageplan Singel1, but you should choose names that contain departure and destination and preferable
voyage number too.
Printing:
The print area is defined for standard European A4 sheets.

If for some reason you don’t want any colour prints of the passage plans, go to File menu --> Page Setup
and check print black and white.

Please accept that this a 'beta' programme yet to prove its worth.
It arose out of pilotage aboard "Kota J..." container ships where
the "Tokimec" auto steering system can be programmed to alter
course at a set, controlled rate of turn..
To set the "rate of turn" on these systems:-

Set the steering to "hand"
Press "Sel" button to left of centre display until "ROT" green light is lit.
Press "Change" button and "+" or "-" to set rate of turn.
In Auto steering all that is required is to turn the "course adjust"

button until the desired new course is displayed in the left screen.
The 'real' rate of turn can be displayed in the centre display by
pressing "Sel" button until the rate is displayed.
