Sub: Explanation on the matter of a teacher and girl student.

Ref: A letter from SSP Thatta.

R/Sir,

It is much humbly submitted that the following report is being submitted for the investigation
over the complaint from SSP of District Thatta and the explanation is divided into few segments.
1. Teachers are involved in some sort of unwanted activities: Kindly find here enclosed with the
entire data of the teachers working in this institution in Annexure I, you shall find that the teacher’s
team is comprised of male and female teachers whom are all university graduated and highly
qualified, experienced teachers. Most of the teachers hold a post graduate degree from renowned
universities of Pakistan and possess a very clean and neat character. Half of the faculty is comprised
of female teachers for whom one cannot think of being involved in any mischievous activity. As a
private institution, teachers join and resign at the end of each academic year and we are keeping a
strict eye at the appointment of teachers. We shall be very glad if your honor personally meet and
examine the level of the teaching staff.
2. The highlighted incident of the girl and teacher:

a. The student Payal Devi was enrolled into our school in class 9th on 1st April 2015.
Annexure II contains all the application for admission, previous school leaving certificate,
father CNIC etc. She remained the part of our institution for four years and graduated from
this school after successfully completing her intermediate 1st April 2019. She was well
behaved student and no complaint was ever registered against her. Her involvement with
the teacher was never observed nor was reported to my office. I have seen her in classes
studying and she possessed a good moral character.
b. The teacher, Kamran Ali Soomro was appointed in 2015.

i. Name: Kamran Ali Soomro

ii. Father’s Name: Suleman Soomro (Retired Govt Servant)
iii. Qualification: B.E Mehran University Jamshoro
iv. Subject: Mathematics
v. Previous Institutes: The City School Thatta & The Concept School Makli.
He presented a degree and marks certificate showing ‘mathematics’ as compulsory
subject and teacher experience of three years as mathematics teacher in mentioned
schools. He taught mathematics and received many award of producing more than 80%
results in class X BISE Hyderabad & his class performance was good. In last academic
year 2018 – 2019 he could not conduct any class test, written or mcq test which lead to
poor progress of the students in mathematics. On these grounds he was terminated.
Annexure III has the record of his appointment and termination.
 c. There were no evidence or any reports or complaints to my office regarding them being in
any kind of relation and the administration discovered all that after the incident happens
while both the teacher and the student were not the part of the institution.
d. The teacher used to give home tuition to the girl at her residency which is not under the
control of the school administration and here say is that they started to like each other while
that period when he was giving her tuition. Even this unfolded to us after the incident took
place.

3. The Incident & its SUB JUDICE nature:

On June 29th 2019 while the school was closed for summer vacations, it was reported
through social media that while Payal Devi was going to her new institution The Concept School
Makli where she was preparing for Enrty Test she was allegedly abducted by Kamran Soomro.
Later through social media we discovered that she eloped with Kamran and converted to Islam and
married him. Since the matter is under trail in High Court Sindh and due to its subjudice nature we
cannot say anything about the nature of the matter.

4. Conclusion:
I shall request your honor that this was the case of two individual acting irresponsibly and
that all outside the premises of the institute. You are kindly requested to see the matter thoroughly
while keeping the dignity of the teachers and school in mind. Schools do not facilitate for anything
but education and we are busy providing the nation a good foundation. I shall be overwhelmed if
more guidance is provided.
