Important Dates
September 9th- Missoula Children’s Theatre
auditions for Pinocchio at 2:15. Turn in
permission slip in order to audition!
September 11th-Turn in $5 Cici Pizza
money by today to have the lunch on Friday.
September 14th-All families are invited to
watch the Pinocchio show at school. Tickets
on sale in front office or at the door.
Family Poster Project
This week for homework the students will be
doing a family poster project with the help of
parents. Students can attach photographs for
each section, find clipart to use, or draw their
own pictures. Some of the topics the poster
will cover are:
 How many people are in your family?
(we will focus on those living with us)
 Where does your family live?
 What does your family like to do
together?
 Where does your family like to go?
 What are some of your family rules?
 How does your family help each
other?
 What food does your family like to
eat?
 What is a tradition or celebration that
your family enjoys?
On the back of the poster there is a family
tree to fill in. You can use pictures, draw
pictures, or just write names. Include as
many family members as you want to by
adding more hearts if needed.

What We’re Learning
Sight Word of the Week: the
Phonics: We are continuing Alphabet Boot Camp this
week. We will be learning the name, sound, and how
to write a letter each day. Please refer to the purple
letter that came home to see when your child needs to
bring in an item from home and what letter they are
assigned.
Reading: We are reading the book The Relatives
Came this week. We are working on identifying story
elements, retelling key events, and asking/answering
questions about the text.
Writing: We are working on drawing detailed
pictures to tell a story. We will try to label our
pictures and use the sight words we know in our
writing.
Math: We will be continuing with Number Boot
Camp. We will focus on learning the name, how to
write, and how to count that amount of objects. We
will do one number a day and will learn 0-20.
Social Studies/Science/Health: In Social Studies,
we are learning about the diversity among students
and families. We will be discussing the benefits of
diversity and how to get along when we may not like,
do, or believe in the same things.
