Book of Matthew
Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand (Matthew 14:13-14)
Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was
going by, they shouted, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” The crowd rebuked them
and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy
on us!” Jesus stopped and called them. “What do you want me to do for you?” he asked.
“Lord,” they answered, “we want our sight.” Jesus had compassion on them and touched
their eyes. Immediately they received their sight and followed him.

Jesus Heals Two Blind Men (Matthew 20:30-34)

As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only
son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her.
When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” Then he went
up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said,
“Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus
gave him back to his mother.

The Harvest is Plentiful, the Laborers are Few (Matthew 9:35-38)

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues,
proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When
he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and
helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is
plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into his harvest field.”

they were like sheep without a shepherd. So he began teaching them many things.

Jesus Feeds the Four Thousand (Mark 8:2-3)

“I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days

because some of them have come a long distance.”

Book of Luke
The Parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:33-34)
But a Samaritan, as he journeyed, came to where he was, and when he saw him,
he had compassion. He went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine.
Then he set him on his own animal and brought him to an inn and took care of him.

The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:20)

And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his
father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.

Jesus Weeps over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41-42)

And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “Would that
you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are
hidden from your eyes.
