Quranic Passages

Allah in Himself
(1) Surah (2.255)
MAIN THEME
The theme of the verse is Allah Himself. It begins with the expression of Shahdah
declaration of Oneness of Allah which is the core of Islam and then elaborates various
accepts of unit of Allah that He is matchless. Allah’s unlimited authority and control
encompass the entire universe. It describes the attributes of Allah that He is
everlasting, protector of the heavens and earth, the Master and Creator of everything.
Everything is in His knowledge and control, nothing goes beyond His power. His
knowledge is absolute and not limited to time and space. He knows what is visible and
invisible. The verse says “It is He Who knows what you disclose and what you hide.”
It shows that Allah knows all that is hidden or manifest.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The passage tells the Muslims to believe in Tawheed in terms of Allah’s uniqueness
and majesty. The theme is important as it tells that Allah is free from weakness and
makes distinction between Creator and the creation that Allah is unlike His creation so
it trains the Muslims to condemn shirk. Quran says “Allah can forgive any sin but not
shirk.” It shows that Muslims should be very careful about the belief in Tawheed and
worship Him alone. There is a repetitive mention of Allah’s attributes in order to
strengthen the faith of its readers. The verse says “He is exalted in power, wise, He
created the heavens without any pillars.” The objective is to remind Muslims that
Allah alone is worthy to be worshiped and obeyed, no authority can be compared with
Him. Muslims recite it every time to reiterate Allah’s power and high position.

(2) Surah An’Aam (6:101-103)

MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah in Himself, it describes that Allah is One and Only
the Creator of entire universe everything is created by Him without the help of any
external force. He has the knowledge and control of His entire creation, His
knowledge reflects His infinite power. He is all-powerful and can do what He wants.
He is so Supreme and sublime that our vision can not grasp Him but His grasp is over
all visions, it means He is great and no one is parallel to Him. Holy Quran says “Allah
is He Who understands the finest mysteries” He is above His entire creation so He is

1
the only One to be worshiped and obeyed. This passage emphasizes the theme of
Tawheed.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The passage is important for Muslims to clearly understand the doctrine of Tawheed
in terms of Allah’s nature and power. Allah is unlike His creation as He does not give
birth and He has no wife because He is unique without plurality, it categorically
negates the false belief of Allah having any wife of children. He is the Creator and rest
is the creation so the creation cannot be associated with Him. This means that people
should not indulge in polytheism because it is unpardonable sin Surah Ikhlas gives the
same teachings that Allah does not give birth and He is not born. He is pure and
spiritual and not a material being therefore He is inaccessible to human perception,
imagination or comprehension. Muslims in this way, develop clearer concept of
Tawheed and feel themselves bound to worship and obey Him alone.

(3) Surah Fussilat (41:37-39)

MAIN THEME
The passage describes the theme of Allah in Himself. It gives a comprehensive
description of Allah’s majesty and power and tells that the night, the day, then sun and
moon are created things so they are not the objects to be worshiped, as they have no
power and authority of their own. These objects are the signs that how powerful and
wise Allah is. Allah has power and authority over everything that He can dispose wise
Allah is. Allah has power and authority over everything that He can dispose anything,
He is all powerful and nothing is beyond His control. It refers to the cycle of day and
night as evidence of divinity, Holy Quran supports it as “behold! In the creation of the
heavens and earth, in the alternation of the night and the day are signs for the people
who are wise” The passage also speaks another sign that as Allah can give life to the
dead earth after the rainfall so He can resurrect the dead on the Day of Judgment.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The theme of the passage is important because it urges Muslims to observe various
objects of nature that reflects Allah’s presence, majesty and glory. Since humans
cannot afford to see Allah physically so they are asked to identify the real Creator
through His creations that bear witness to His existence. Such observations encourage
Muslims to develop a stronger belief in Tawheed in all its aspects. Therefore Holy
Quran for this reason frequently refers to the need of pondering and observing.
Muslims should worship Allah alone, obey Him and express their gratitude to Him for

2
enabling them to see and think deeply. People are advised here not to be arrogant and
deny Allah as He will give them life again on the Day of Judgment and will take an
account of their deeds. It teaches that we should live a righteous life in this world.
Nothing is impossible for Him as it is in Surah Yaseen that for creating anything Allah
only says, “Be and it becomes”.

(4) Surah Shua’ra (42:4-5)

MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah in himself, it describes Allah’s Ownership as it
confirms that Allah is the exclusive Owner of everything in the heavens and on earth
and all that is contained in theme as the verse says “His are all things in the heaven
and earth.” Allah shows mercy to His entire creation. The mention of His mercy is a
way of showing how forgiving He is despite of the sinful activities of the people.
Surah fatiha mentions the same theme that He is mot beneficent and most merciful.
This teaches that Muslims should give up evil activities and turn to Allah then the
Angels will pray to Allah to forgive and shower mercy on mankind.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The passage is important because it tells Muslims about Allah’s power, authority and
glory in order to make them His obedient servants. Allah is the exclusive Owner and
Controller of everything in the universe. No one can share in His Ownership and
Authority. His Grace and Mercy encompasses His entire creation this means that
Allah loves His creation so we should not forget our Merciful Lord. The Holy Prophet
(PBUH) said, “Allah says; My Grace and Mercy outstrips My Wrath”. Allah’s mercy
and forgiveness prepares Muslims to repent over their misdeeds. Angels always praise
Allah and glorify His Holy Name, this means that man should also worship Him and
become His righteous servant like Angels. Surah Fatiha mentions the same theme that
“You do we worship and Your aid we seek”.

(5) Surah Ikhlas (112)

MAIN THEME
The theme of this passage is Allah in Himself in terms of His unique person. It
outlines the most fundamental aspects of Tawheed and emphatically negates the false
belief of Allah having ancestors and descendents. The Unit and Oneness of Allah is
the fundamental principle of Islam. Allah is One and Only, Eternal without beginning
and end. He has unique qualities, attributes, existence and position, nothing in this

3
universe relations as it says He does not give birth and He is not born. He is matchless
and unique beyond human comprehension.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The theme of this passage purifies Muslim’s belief in Tawheed. It teaches that Allah is
unique in all aspects and eliminates all forms of shirk as He is unlike His creation and
free from human and animalistic qualities of giving birth and being born. It teaches
about the uniqueness of Allah that He is Creator rest is the creation so the creation
cannot be equal to the Creator in attributes or qualities. Surah An’Aam gives the same
teachings that how can Allah give birth when He has not consort. This shows that
Allah is pure to have family. He is superior above all and is only worthy to be
worshiped since this attribute is shared by none else. He is not physically related to
any of His creation.

ALLAH’S RELATIONSHIP WITH THE CREATED WORLD

(6) Surah Al Fatiha

Allah is the Sole Creator Cherisher of the physical and spiritual world. Everything in
this universe has been created by Him. He the only One without partners or equals. He
is most Gracious and most Merciful therefore He alone is absolutely worthy to be
worshiped and obeyed the verse says “Worship none but Allah”. He is real Guide to
the moral of the people as He is the only One who has created us. Only Allah can
guide man to the way of life acceptable to Him but He doesn’t compel anyone to
follow that way. He has the Kingdom and Mastery over the entire universe This Surah
also warns people not to follow the path of the misguided people otherwise they
would face the punishment on the Day of Judgment.

form of Holy Quran and Sunnah, which are the only means that will help us to walk

4
on the right path. Surah Fussilat gives the same teachings that Allah alone is worthy to
be worshiped because He is the Lord and Creator.

(7) Surah Al Baqarah (2:21-22)

MAIN THEME
The theme of this passage is Allah and His created world. It outlines Allah’s power to
create and make arrangements for the sustenance and growth of mankind through all
ages. It describes that Allah alone is worthy to be worshiped as He is the Creator and
Cherisher of all mankind. It means worship is owed to the One who is independent of
all and everything depends on Him. He has given man His special blessings in this
universe as He has made the earth a living place and gave all necessities and luxuries
of life. He sends down rain, which brings forth fruits and sustenance for mankind. He
has supreme authority over His entire creation. Man’s physical and spiritual life
depends complete on Allah, so setting partners with Him is blasphemous.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The passage inculcates in human piety and a sense of gratitude to Allah for His
countries bounties. It teaches that Allah is the One Who made life possible on earth.
The creation of earth and heavens, the sending of rain and the growth of fruits is the
manifestation of Allah’s Lordship. He sends down rain from the skies to give life to
the earth so that it may produce agriculture good to feed mankind. Holy Quran says
“Then which of the bounties of you Lord will you deny”. This is an example of how
Allah demonstrates Divine Glory to us. Ayat-ul-Kursi gives the same teachings that
His are all things in the heavens and on earth. This means our whole life, physical and
spiritual depends on Allah. It teaches that we should turn to Allah alone and should
worship Him.

(8) Surah Al-Alaq (96:1-5)

MAIN THEME
The theme of this passage is Allah and His created world, it is the first revelation to
the Holy Prophet (PBUH), which confirmed prophethood and revelation of Holy
Quran started. The Angel asked him to read in the name of his Lord this shows that
the message was from Allah the Creator of entire universe. It mentions the creation of
man from insignificant clot of blood. In fact Allah created man from a low origin and
then matured him physically, intellectually and spiritually by enabling him to read and
write. Human ability to acquire knowledge means to learn both worldly and Divine
sciences so that man is able to find means of physical survival as well as take care of
5
his intellectual and spiritual development. The passage further describes the
impotence of pen, as it is the foremost important instruments of collecting enormous
treasure of knowledge in the history. Without would have been confined to few
people. It shows that knowledge is the special gift of Allah.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
In this passage Muslims are required to acknowledge Allah’s goodness and greatness
as He created man from a low origin and then enabled him to acquire knowledge.
human ability to learn has made him superior to all other creatures and Holy Quran
endorses this fact “We have indeed created man in the best moulds”. Allah created
man out of a mere clot of blood, teaches man that Allah can create anything out of
nothing because He is the Lord for He says only “Be and it becomes”. It teaches that
after the creation of human, Allah has not left him alone but gave him guidance
through Prophet (Sunnah) and Divine Book (Holy Quran) so we must follow the
guidance that Allah has sent o us. He is the One Who taught the use of pen, it is the
important instrument of acquiring knowledge.

(9) Surah Zilzal (99)

MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah’s relation with created world. It is about the Day of
Judgment. The word Zilzal describes the horrors, calamities and destruction on that
day. On the Day of Judgment the earth will be shaken tremendously, mountains will
be uprooted. Mankind will be shocked to see earth emitting all its hidden contents.
The present order of the world will be destroyed. Allah will inaugurate a new world
having permanent values, He will give life to the people again and all deeds good or
bad will be brought to light and justice will take place with absolute truth. This
teaches that man will have to be accountable for his every action no matter how small
it may be so he should not live an ignorant life.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The passage reminds Muslims about the Day of Judgment, Allah’s power to end time
and make all stand accountable before Him for the ultimate justice. With such a belief
Muslims will learn about worthlessness of this world and realize the value of
hereafter. All will make the earth to speak, shows the power of Allah that nothing is
impossible for Him. the earth will be shaken tremendously, shows that Allah has
complete control over entire universe. Man will be given life again to make him
accountable for his deeds, teaches Muslims that they will be responsible for their

6
deeds so they must pass a righteous life in this world. Surah Qariah mentions that
those who have done good deeds will be rewarded with a life of pleasure and
satisfaction.

(10) Surah Al-Nas

MAIN THEME
The theme of this Surah is Allah’s relations with created world. This Surah was
revealed along with Surah Al Falaq, both are known as “Muawwazatain” the two
protecting Surahs as these Surahs protected the Holy Prophet (PBUH) from the magic
casted over him. It describes that Allah is the Creator, Cherisher, Master and King of
mankind and the entire universe. The power and authority of all affairs is in His hands
and He is in control of everything so believers must turn to Allah for their protection
from evil because He is the Creator of all, so He alone can protect from the evil of His
creation. The evil is crafted by satan or his assistants who may be human or Jinn. Holy
Quran says “Satan is an avowed enemy to man”. So Muslims should be very careful
about the tempting of satan and not follow its path.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
This Surah together with Surah Al-Falaq teaches Muslims to seek Allah’s refuge
against all evils as Satan is always there to misguide them so Muslims should
strengthen their relation with Allah toward all evil forces. The best way to do this is to
remember Allah as said in Holy Quran “and establish regular prayer in order to
remember Me” The recitation of Holy Quran also shuns evil by bringing the reader
closer to Allah. Holy Prophet (PBUH) also used to recite these Surahs to guard against
evil as he got protection from the black magic casted over him by his enemies. The
Surahs also describe that we should ask Allah alone for our protection because He has
absolute control and power over everything and worship Him because He alone
deserves to be worshiped. When we come in Allah’s protection nothing can harm us
no matter how powerful that is.

Allah’s Messengers
(11) Surah Baqarah (2: 30-37)
MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah’s messengers. It describes the story of the creation
of Hazrat Adam (AS) as Allah’s Vicegerent on earth. This superiority of Adam (AS)
was duly acknowledged by all angels except Iblis who showed arrogance since he was
Jin not an angel. Allah created Adam (AS) and blessed him with the gift of knowledge
7
then presented him in front of the angels to prostrate to show his superiority. Iblis
disobeyed Allah’s command as he considered himself superior to Adam (AS) so Allah
cursed him and exiled him from heaven. Adam (AS) and Eve were granted paradise
but Iblis maneuvered their exile from there, out of jealously and malice. On
repentance of their mistake Adam (AS) and Eve were pardoned by Allah who
awarded them a new phase of worldly living. Holy Quran describes this “It is We,
Who have placed you with authority on earth”.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The theme of this passage contains important lessons for Muslims. They are told the
reason for making human being superior over all other creatures. Allah appointed man
by way of Adam as His vicegerent on earth because of knowledge and free will. This
teaches that we should be obedient to Allah because He has created us as His agent or
servant and gave us highest status amongst His creation. Allah gave Adam (AS) the
power of knowledge, this teaches that we should be able to make difference between
right and wrong, follow the right path and keep ourselves away from the path of Satan
because he is our open enemy. Holy Quran says “For Satan is an avowed enemy to
men”.

(12) Surah Al-An’Aam (6: 75-79)

MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah’s messenger, it outlines the story of Prophet
Ibrahim (AS) and his unique method of guiding his community to the worship of
Allah Almighty, Who is the Lord and Creator of entire universe. The sun, moon, stars,
the day and night are not the objects to be worshiped because they are the creation and
have no power of themselves. He told his community that such things are themselves
controlled and dependent upon someone else for their existence that is Allah
Almighty. These celestial bodies are the clear proof of the existence of Allah and they
take us to the process to think about their Creator, in Whose hands is their control.
Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) rejected the polytheism (shirk) that was the hallmark of the
society around him and family declared shahada as a sign of acquiring internal peace.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The passage describes the wisdom of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) that he selected a unique
and a logical approach to make his people understand the reality of Allah, Who is the
real Creator and Who alone deserved to be worshiped. He did not directly ask them to
leave the worship of these objects but gave them logical arguments not to worship

8
them. It is totally useless to worship the creation because they are dependent upon the
will of Creator. The sun and the moon have no power of themselves to shine but Allah
has given it to them. In Surah Al-Ghashiah Allah mentions His signs and asks the
people to ponder which will lead them to the discovery of their Creator Who alone
should be worshiped and obeyed. The passage teaches Muslims to refuse shirk and
should not worship anything beside Allah, it also teaches that all messengers preached
the universal message of Tawheed so we should equally respect all messengers. Holy
Quran says “we do not make difference between any of His messengers”.

(13) Surah Al-Maidah (5: 110)

MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah’s messengers, it refers to the favors of Allah on
Hazrat Esa (AS). He gave him certain Prophetic sign to make his role clear to the
people to who he was sent. Allah gave Hazrat Esa (AS) miraculous birth, made him
His one of the mightiest Prophet, and blessed him with numerous miracles such as
giving life to dead, making birds and giving them life, to help people understand his
mission. Allah protected Hazrat Esa (AS) from all hardships that were to come in his
way. He was blessed with a book to bring the people to the right path. This passage
mentions that Hazrat Esa (AS) was only a Prophet and Allah’s creation. It describes
that all Prophets are respected equally in Islam and Muslims do not make difference
between any of Allah’s messengers as it is said in a verse. “We do not make
difference between any of His messengers”.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
In this passage Allah addresses Hazrat Esa (AS) by saying “son of Maryam” which
teaches that he was Allah’s messenger and hum being with special qualities. The
mention of Taurat, Gospel and wisdom tell us that Hazrat Isa (AS) was prepared for
the prophetic mission. The miracles which granted to him like giving life to dead and
making birds out clay were with the permission of Allah to show that he was only a
Prophet. This shows that Allah can give His special powers to whom He wills. Surah
Maryam says that Allah taught him the book and wisdom, the law and Gospel. This
shows that the guidance he brought was from Allah. We also learn that the rejecters of
truth will stand accountable before Allah in the Hereafter.

9
(14) Surah Duha (93)
MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah’s messengers, it contains consolation to Holy
Prophet (PBUH), gives him the good news of success in his future life, and reminds
him about Allah’s favor in his past life. This Surah was revealed to remove anxiety
and distress caused by the suspension of the revelation and taunting of his opponents.
It confirms that Allah has never left Holy Prophet (PBUH) alone and the hardships he
faced would not last long, his life will be full of victory and satisfaction. The purpose
of these reminders is to re-assure him of similar support in future. This Surah also
teaches to look after the orphans and give them their rights, as they are the most
helpless individuals on earth. Muslims must pay thanks to Allah for His countless
blessings and favors.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The Oaths in this Surah of the glorious morning light and the night when it is still
reflects the importance of the Surah and Allah’s love with the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
This means that sorrowful moments are replaced by happiness and Allah is always
with him at all times. This shows that He does not abandon His Prophets at any stage
of their life and teaches the believers that they should never lose hope in hardships and
difficulties. Holy Quran says “So verily with every difficult there is a relief”. Allah’s
messengers were rejected and ridiculed but remained firm in their mission teaches
Muslims that they should also be steadfast and firm in their belief in Allah. It
commands Holy Prophet and Muslims in general to help the poor and needy, treat the
deserving people kindly and sympathetically us helping one another will promote love
and affection in the society. Surah Kausar contains the same teachings that Allah
blessed Holy Prophet (PBUH) abundantly.

(15) Surah Al Kausar (108)

MAIN THEME
The theme of the passage is Allah’s messengers, it consoles the Holy Prophet
(PBUH), when he was taunted by the enemies at the death of his two sons. It refers to
the unlimited blessings and favours of Allah to him in this world as well as hereafter.
Allah asks him to remain patient as he was before and continue with his devotional
activities, eventually He will bless him with abundance of decedents and followers,
his enemies will be forgotten. The Surah promised abundance of success and
destruction of the ones who insulted Holy Prophet (PBUH). It told the Prophet

10
(PBUH) to remember Allah through regular prayer and to develop the spirit of
sacrifice so that he could continuously strengthen his bond with Allah and to get
constant Divine support.
IMPORTANCE OF THE THEME
The Surah shows Allah’s special care for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the time of
difficulties and hardships. It teaches that enmity of Holy Prophet (PBUH) leads
destruction as Allah destroyed the plans of Quraish. The passage commands Holy
Prophet (PBUH) and Muslims to pray and give sacrifice; it means that prayer and
sacrifice are the best means to get Allah’s pleasure and help, so we should pray and
give sacrifice for His name. The abundance came to Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the form
of countless followers and his descendents through his daughter Hazrat Fatima (RA),
on the other hand his insulters perished forever so it teaches that noble mission
survives forever. Holy Prophet (PBUH) said about Kausar that it is a river in heaven,
which Allah has granted to him. Surah Duha mentions the same teachings that Allah
cared for Holy Prophet (PBUH) at every stage of his life.

AHADITH
HADITH NO 1
TEACHINGS
The Hadith teaches that Muslims should be sincere in their faith in Allah, His
Prophets, Books and believe with genuine intentions. It means Muslim must be loyal
to the basic teachings of Islam and sincerely follow the five Pillars with full
dedication. Muslims must submit themselves totally to the will of Allah and follow
His book and messenger because these have been sent primarily to guide them to the
right path. Muslims must be sincere in the principles they and in the things they do.
While being sensitive to the needs of the people and by being loyal to the members of
the community. This attitude make man righteous and loyal member of the
community.
ACTIONS
We can put these teachings into actions by being obedient to religion and sincerely
following Islamic teachings in our every walk of life as religion means the right
pattern of life or the disciplinary life where man fulfils the right of Allah and the rights
of the people. We should not only base our lives on the teachings of Islam but should
act to maintain the good of society. Sincerity is the most important aspect in all things

11
that we do publicly or privately as the Hadith says “Actions are judged by the
intentions” it means sincerity is the greatest characteristics of the Muslims.

HADITH NO 2
TEACHINGS
This Hadit emphasizes on fraternity and brotherhood, that Concern for the well being
of others is the basic teaching of Islam and it is an important aspect of faith. Muslims
must behave kindly and be loving to each other because Holy Prophet (PBUH)
himself loved and cared for others while saying “Muslims are like the parts of one
body if one part is affected the entire body feels the pain”. This means that arrogance
and selfish attitude is not the characteristics of a true believer. Care for others is the
sign of sincere belief and belief is only sincere when put into action. It is the main part
of Muslims faith to work for the good of other people in society.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that we must treat other Muslims, as we want them to treat us.
We should have spirit of sacrifice and be ready to give preference to the needs of
others over our own as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) did himself. We should not prefer
inferior thing for our brothers that we do not like for ourselves, as this is not a sign of
sincere faith. Muslims must always respond to the needs of others as care for them is a
constituent part of faith for which we will be rewarded. It can be regarded as a sign of
sincerity to the teachings of Islam. We must always respond to the needs of our
brothers in times of difficulty as we must help to Earthquake and flood victims, who
are suffering in our society. Holy Prophet (PBUH) said, “You cannot enter paradise
unless you are believers and you cannot be true believers unless there is reciprocal
love among you”.

HADITH NO 3
TEACHINGS
The Hadith lays great importance of spreading good and helping the neighbors and
guests. Muslims not only declare their faith in Allah and the last day but they also
possess good moral character. This means modesty and respect for other is essential
part of faith. Kindness and generosity towards neighbors, guests and other members of
community strengthens the social structure. This teachers the Muslims that they
should have caring attitude towards others, which is the most important part of sincere
faith. Muslims must have the quality to be good, kind and generous to everyone even

12
a stranger. They must have control over their tongue as mentioned in Hadith and Holy
Prophet (PBUH) says at other place “to keep quit is better than telling a bad thing”.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that how we should behave towards others, neighbor and guest
and we must use our tongue effectively not to harm others or to make someone feel
bad or cause distress. It teaches us that we should treat the neighbors generously as
Holy Prophet (PBUH) says “The one who fills his stomach and leaves his neighbour
hungry is not a complete Muslim”. This shows that we must care for our neighbours,
as it is the integral part of faith. Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself was very generous to
his neighbours and guests even they were non-Muslims, he used to serve them with
his own hands. Once teaches us about the noble character of Holy Prophet (PBUH).
We should not disturb our neighbours by making noise or play loud music and should
also care for the non-Muslim neighbours.

HADITH NO 4
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes the importance of the main obligatory acts and describes that
whoever perform them will be rewarded with paradise. It tells the Islam is a very
simple religion and to gain Allah’s pleasure and reach paradise one has to simply
follow the basic principles of Islam. These basic principles keep the Muslims on the
right path as the Holy Quran says “verily prayer restrains from shameful and bad
deeds”. These pillars keep the Muslims obedient to their Lord. Allah has laid down
clear rules about what is lawful and unlawful in the Holy Quran and Sunnah and
expected Muslims to be obedient to Him, so by following these rules we can get the
pleasure of Allah which will lead us to paradise as confirmed in this Hadith.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we must stick to our main obligations in life if we want to get
the pleasure of Allah and paradise. Prayer is a foremost important duty of a Muslim
which helps him to gain pleasure of Allah the Hadith says “prayer is the key to
paradise”. We must be obedient to Allah throughout our life. Beside following the
principle of Islam we must be conscious of what is allowed and not allowed in Islam
at all time. We must adopt the lawful means to earn our livelihood as we should be
fair in our trading and refrain from interest (Riba) the verse says “But Allah has
permitted trade and forbidden usury we can follow the Hadith teachings.

13
HADITH NO 5
TEACHINGS
The Hadith explains the signs of a true believer that he tries to do as much good as he
can for humanity. Every joint in the body that exists makes the movement possible
therefore; every joint is a great blessing of Allah so it needs to perform charitable acts
to show gratitude to Him for blessings. Holy Prophet (PBUH) has asked the Muslims
to do good deeds and actions that are a source of benefit and comfort to others, like
setting disputes and quarrels with justice, helping people to mount their means of
conveyance or carrying their belongings, going to Mosque and removing hindrances
from the road are considered and act of charity, this will strengthen the social structure
of the society. Islamic concept of charity is the broadest and Holy Prophet (PBUH)
says, “Charity is incumbent on every Muslim”.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we should be entirely a source of benefit and comfort to
others as it is considered an act of worship, which we have to perform in our everyday
life. Charity for the service of mankind is the main characteristics of Islam. We must
help the weak members of society as the poor, weak, too old, the blind and paralyzed
because they really deserve our help and support. Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself
carried the load of an old woman to her destination. We should not feel shame to help
them like helping blind to cross the road and removing the obstacles from the way.

HADITH NO 6
TEACHINGS
The Hadith teaches the Muslims not to permit evil as it destroys the moral health of
the society. Wickedness and ill manners must be strictly checked to keep the society
safe from evil and corruption. Effective measure must be adopted to fight against evil
such as by preaching and persuasion as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself did. The
opposition to evil and corruption must be to the extent of Muslim’s power and
capability. Muslims must stand against it in whatever way they can and if they cannot
prevent the evil from taking place, then they should not give in to its power and must
at least always condemn it. Holy Prophet (PBUH) says that you should help your
brother by stopping him from doing injustice.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we should not tolerate any evil in the society as it shakes the
very foundation of it. The evil can be in the shape of corruption, favoritism, bribery

14
and terrorism. These are the evil acts which have unfortunately shaken our Pakistani
society. We have to fight a lot to sweep it out. We must never cease and try every
means of stopping it. as the Holy Prophet (PBUH) says, “Take hold of the hands of a
Muslims from doing worn”. We must assist the one who is victim of tyranny,
injustice, and wrong doing and must try to stop the one who is committing it. we must
use all our energies to bring about the rule of justice and righteousness for all people
to reduce the crime rates in Pakistan we must introduce Islamic punishments which
will definitely reduce the level of crimes in society.

HADITH NO 7
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes that the one who strives in the way of Allah with his person and
property is the best Muslim. It means that a believer must put his entire life according
to the Islamic teachings and must strive to fulfill all the obligations, duties and
responsibilities to Allah and mankind. Striving in the way of Allah also means to fight
in His way to sweep out oppression and aggression in the society. However, fighting
against one’s evil desires is the greatest jihad as Holy Prophet (PBUH) says, “The
greatest jihad is to fight against the evil passions of one self” it teaches that we must
purify ourselves. Striving with property means, a Muslims must spend his wealth in
the way of Allah by helping poor, needy, and orphan. It is described in the Holy
Quran as indebting Allah.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we must perform our duties and responsibilities to the best of
our ability. After completing our fard obligations, we should strive in the way of Allah
by reciting Holy Quran offering extra prayers and fight against evil, oppression and
injustice. We must finance the less fortunate people because they need our help like
the orphan, poor and needy, we should provide them physical and financial help. Holy
Prophet (PBUH) says, “The best charity is to feed the hungry belly” it teaches that we
must fulfill the needs of the poor people.

HADITH NO 8
TEACHINGS
The Hadith explains the importance of being martyred in the way of Allah. It explains
that the one who is killed in the way of Allah does not only achieve the status of
martyrdom but it has widespread relevance and applications. Actually all the
Prophet’s companions wanted martyrdom so he explained that not only those who are
15
killed in the way Allah are martyred but also all those Muslims who die of these
diseases like plague, cholera and natural death are martyred if they are righteous gand
pious Muslims. Holy Prophet (PBUH) says “Whoever sincerely desires the rank of
martyrdom gets the rank of martyrdom even if he is not killed”. It shows that those
sincerely want martyrdom will surely be rewarded for it.
ACTIONS
The Hadith repeatedly describes that the one who dies “in the way of Allah” whether
doing jihad or because of any disease is martyred. This teaches that if we mould
ourself according to the Islamic teachings and put our life exactly according to Allah’s
commandment and we die as true followers of Islam, we will be counted as martyred
even though we are not fighting in the way of Allah. Therefore, we must be true
Muslims if we want the status of martyrdom. A righteous Muslim gets the status of
martyrdom when he dies.

HADITH NO 9
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes that earning one’s livelihood through labour is not only a duty
but also a great virtue. Dependence in Islam on others is sinful and a disgraceful
humiliation. All kinds of hard work and labour are respected in Islamic society as the
Holy Prophet (PBUH) says “To earn a lawful living is a duty next to the obligatory
duties of faith” it teaches that after the obligatory duties of faith earning through
lawful means and adopting honesty comes first and it is also a form of worship. This
Hadith discourages reliance on other people and begging which is strongly
discouraged in Islam. The Hadith says, “The upper hand is better than the lower hand”
this shows that begging has been strongly condemned in Islam.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that we should take responsibility to earn our livelihood with
our own hands. We must support ourselves and our family through our hard work as
the Hadith says “the one who earn for himself is friend of Allah” Holy Prophet
(PBUH) kissed the hands of a person who worked hard to feed his family. It teaches
that hard work and earning lawfully is deeply appreciated in Islam. We should not be
dependent on others like the parents in young age because it does not promote self-
sufficiency. We should be honest to our duties, responsibilities and be loyal to our
professions. As students we should work hard and take our studies seriously.

16
HADITH NO 10
TEACHINGS
The Hadith teaches that helping the poor, needy, widows and providing them relief
has the reward equal to jihad or praying the whole night and fasting the whole day.
The worship of Allah does not fall within the limit of praying and fasting only but it is
interpreted in a much wider sense. Even the Holy Quran commands to show kindness
to poor and needy as it says “Treat with kindness your parents, orphans and those in
need” This shows that it is our religious duty to serve and help them. Faith has no
value if it did not lead to the service of humanity. Holy Prophet (PBUH) instructed
Hazrat Ayesha (RA) “O Ayesha: Love the poor and let them come to you for help”.
This shows that Allah is well pleased with those who help others.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that we should show generosity to help the poor and need in all
possible ways so that they should be able to live happy and a peaceful life. There
should be funding projects initiated in the society to help the poor, needy and widows.
We should give charity to the destitute wherever we find them and pay hospital
expenses of those who cannot afford. It is the only source of gaining the pleasure of
Allah. As the Hadith says “The best charity is to fill the hungry belly”. We should
help and support physically and financially those N G Os who are involved in the
social work like old house, Dar-ul-Sukoon in Karachi etc.

HADITH NO 11
TEACHINGS
The Hadith encourages the Muslims to look after and support the orphans as it
mentions the closeness of the caretaker of orphans with the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in
paradise, they will be as close as two fingers the middle and index. Holy Prophet
(PBUH) himself was orphan and passed his entire life to help them. In this Hadith he
gave the orphan hole and courage. At the time of first revelation Hazrat Khadija (RA)
consoled Holy Prophet (PBUH) that “By God Allah will not leave you alone as you
are the only who look after orphan and widows”. This shows that Allah always
protects His creation by helping them.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that we must look after the orphans if we want to get closeness
of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in paradise. Holy Prophet (PBUH) says, “The best
Muslim house is that in which an orphan is well treated and the worst Muslim house is

17
that in which an orphan is ill treated”. This teaches that to gain the blessings of Allah
and the closeness of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) we have to take care of orphans. We
should help them because they are less fortunate who seriously need our help and
support. If we help them then they can live a peaceful life in society. We should give
financial support to the N G Os, consider them the part of our society.

HADITH NO 12
TEACHINGS
The Hadith requires the Muslims and those who are entrusted with the work of the
Government to work for the good of the people, to be gentle to them and not cause
any distress. Holy Prophet (PBUH) said “Your best rulers are those whom you love
and they love distress. Holy Prophet (PBUH) said “Your best rulers are those whom
you love and they love you” this teaches that Muslims must always be gentle to
others, make people happy when they rule and must be fair in their leadership. They
must treat all the subjects equally without any discrimination, must be a source of
benefit and comfort to them. As the Hadith says, “Make things easy, do not make
them hard and cheer up people, and do not repel them”. This shows that the leaders
must cause rejoicing for their subjects.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us and the Muslims rulers that they must be gentle to other people
and make them rejoice through their actions towards them, as mildness, gentleness
and causing ease to others are virtues of the moral system of Islam. The rulers must
treat every member of the community equally without any favoritism. Holy Prophet
(PBUH) as a ruler of Madina treated every member of society equally even the non-
Muslims, it teaches that minorities in Pakistan should be fairly treated. Unfortunately
Pakistan society is suffering because they are not following social teachings of Islam.
If the Rulers in Pakistan want their subjects to love them than they should control the
prices of the necessities of life, so that every member in the society should be able to
live a happy and peaceful life.

HADITH NO 13
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes that the one who committed the Holy Quran to his memory must
be vigilant and must be vigilant and must recite it everyday then he can hold the
Quran in his memory otherwise it will slip from his mind like a fleeing camel.
Recitation of the Holy Quran not only keeps mind refreshed but also spiritually
18
elevates a person and spreads peace in a soul, it is known as a food for the soul. The
Hadith says “keep refreshing your knowledge of the Holy Quran” it means that the
heart in which there is nothing of the Holy Quran is like a ruined house where satanic
forces flourish. It teaches that we must recite the Holy Quran everyday in order to
ponder over its teachings and follow its commandments because it is a book of
guidance.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we should develop the habit of reciting the Holy Quran
everyday as it gives peace to mind and it is guidance for us so we must ponder over its
meanings and follow its teachings. It is the foundation of our religion and main source
of all Islamic teachings. It guides man in all spheres of life material and spiritual. It is
the most sacred treasure for all Muslims. As the Hadith says “the best among you is
the one who has learnt the Quran and teachers it to others”. It teaches that Muslims
should recite, understand and teach it to others. We should adopt Quranic teachings in
our everyday life.

HADITH NO 14
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes the compassionate behavior towards others in business dealings,
as it should be conducted with honesty and justice, tempered with human kindness. It
bans all types of transaction which are unjust or cause hardship to the buyer or seller;
both are required to be sympathetic and considerate towards each other. The Hadith
tells that “those business men who show the attitude of mildness and forbearance in
dealings, Allah has decreed for them paradise”. This shows that believers should strive
hard for the welfare of fellow beings and they should not indulge in illegal means of
earning like stealing, deceiving and practicing Riba in business dealing, it damages the
social structure of society.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that we should show positive attitude and mercy when we hold
any transaction and earn lawfully as Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself did in his life. We
should keep in mind the condition of poor people and show leniency when we demand
our money back. If the borrower is too poor to repay then it would be the deed of
supreme virtue to forgive the loan if impossible then duration of repayment should be
extended. This Hadith also teaches that we should do business honestly avoid
deceiving, cheating, interest as the Holy Quran says “woe to those who do not keep

19
their measures straight”. Allah curses those who cheat others in business dealings.
While doing business we must not hide defects in goods, must not take false oaths and
charge the reasonable profit on goods.

HADITH NO 15
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes that Muslims must show mercy to the entire creation of Allah as
it is one of the special attribute of Allah and Holy Quran says Allah’s mercy exceeds
His anger. The most deserving persons of the special mercy of Allah are those
kindhearted people who are sympathetic to His creatures. Hadith says “You should be
kind to those who are on earth and He, Who is the heavens, will be kind to you” It
teaches that if we want Allah’s mercy then we should show kindness to His creatures.
The person who is lacking in mercy and kindness is doomed to hell. Holy Prophet
(PBUH) set an unparallel example of mercy as he forgave all Quraish at conquest of
Makkah even though they severely tortured him and expelled him out of Makkh.
Animals also deserve mercy as hadith says “Fear Allah in regard to these animals ride
them in health and leave them in health”.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that we should treat Allah’s creation as we want Allah to treat
us. The commands to show mercy who on earth include people of all religions,
nationalities and also the other creations of Allah. We exercise mercy by assisting
poor feeding indigent, forgiving others and attending the needs of the other people.
This shows that Muslims should not show a selfish attitude to others and shows
kindness as it is an outstanding quality of the true believer. We should act like a single
body as it is described in Hadith. We should not only show mercy to fellow beings but
even the enemies as Holy Prophet (PBUH) did in the incident of Taif, he stopped the
Angel to destroy the town. We must feed the pets in our house properly, domestic
servants in house must properly and kindly by treated.

HADITH NO 16
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes the Muslim community like a single body when one part is in
pain the entire suffers; it should be the condition of every Muslims to feel others like
brothers. It is fundamental in the moral system of Islam to value Islamic brotherhood.
Holy Quran frequently describes Muslims as brothers “the believers are but a single
brotherhood”. It teaches that all believers should treat each other as equals and do not
20
pride in themselves. If all Muslims treat each other like a single body then many social
problems will be solved as Muslims brotherhood and unity strengthens the whole
community and eliminates social and linguistic barriers. Muslims are like a body
means they are boned by the strong fabric of common faith and followers of same
Prophet.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we should have a pure love for our fellow Muslims, the racial
status and geographical factors should not affect our unity. The Hadith says, “A
believer to another believer is like a building whose one part strengthens the other”.
This shows that Muslim community must be supportive of itself and everyone should
act like brothers. We must share the pain of fellow Muslims and help them. Now a
days Muslims are suffering from floods and earthquakes so we should help these
shelterless victims as the Ansars helped their Muhajreen brothers at the time of
migration to Madina.

HADITH NO 17
TEACHINGS
The Hadith describes modesty as a basic instrument, which plays a vital role in the
character building of Muslims and protects from all evils and wrong doings. The
moral teachings of Islam encourage the feeling of modesty in human nature. As the
Hadith says, “Every religion has distinctive quality and the distinctive quality of Islam
is modesty,” This shows that modesty has fundamental significance and it is a
distinctive feature of Islam. It saves from immoral, uncivil and unethical behavior.
Modesty and faith are closely related to each other as the Hadith says “Modesty and
faith are companions when one is taken away, the other follows it” it shows that when
modesty goes away from a person then faith also goes away from him.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we should practice modesty in our every walk of life as it is
described an integral part of faith. It eliminates social problems and social evils such
as speaking rudely, use of foul language, backbiting, insulting or acting dishonestly so
we should avoid from all these evils. We should always speak politely and nicely even
to the non-Muslims and should work for the betterment of society. We must also
practice modesty toward Allah as the Hadith says, “Practice modesty to Allah as it
taught to be practiced toward Him” we should save our private life and mind from evil
thoughts because Allah known everything.

21
HADITH NO 18
TEACHINGS
The Hadith confirms that a Muslim is the one in whose heart there is least amount of
faith will eventually go to heaven after facing punishment for his evil deeds. Therefore
Muslims must have faith in their hearts whereas pride will only lead to hell so they
must possess the quality of humility and courtesy because these are acts of piety. It
teaches that a tiny amount of faith can lead to heaven and a tiny amount of pride can
lead to hell. As the Holy Quran says “Is there not in hell an abode for the haughty”
This shows that pride is an act which Satan loves so Muslims must keep themselves
away from it.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we must be humble in our every aspect of life because pride
leads to the displeasure of Allah. Satan was expelled from heaven only because of the
act of pride. This teaches that we should always adopt the attitude of humility. Holy
Prophet (PBUH) set an unparallel example of humility; he never made difference
between himself and others including poor and weak. He did every work with his own
hands which shows his humble character. He was so kind and humble that he was
persecuted and tortured but never responded. It teaches us that we should adopt the
utmost quality of humility if we want to enter paradise.

HADITH NO 19
TEACHINGS
The Hadith explains the reality of this world and the purpose of man’s creation. This
world is a temporary place to live and it is just like spending the life in prison if
believer is that he never keeps himself attached to this world just like a prisoner, who
never consider the prison as his home. It teaches that Muslims must lead a life of
checks and balances in this world and never give much importance to it. As the Hadith
says “Live in this world as if you are a stranger or wayfarer” This shows that this
word is not an eternal place so we should not make it the exclusive aim of our life.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches that we should not live only for worldly gains because life in this
world is for very short time and should prefer hereafter over this world, which is
eternal. We should make hereafter the main object of our life because the comforts
and luxuries of this world will come to an end one day. It teaches that we should never
be indulged in any act which displeases Allah. The Hadith says “Whosoever loves the

22
world damages his hereafter and whosoever loves the hereafter shall damage this
world so you prefer what is ever lasting to what is transitory” it teaches that we should
not be too much lost in this material word that we might damage our hereafter.

HADITH NO 19
TEACHINGS
The Hadith tells the criteria on the basis of which Allah judges a person. Allah does
not give us favours because of our physical form, figure or wealth but He sees our
heart, mind and actions. Rewards and punishments are also given on the basis of
motives and intentions as the Hadith says “Actions are judged by intensions” it
teaches that Allah is not interested in our actions or wealth but what is in our heart.
Allah judges the worth and value of deed by the intention with which it is performed.
The Hadith emphasizes on intentions and sincerity behind actions. Al the good deeds
are worthless if are not performed with sincere intentions.
ACTIONS
The Hadith teaches us that we must be sincere Musims and be true to our religion. We
must give importance to good conduct and not the possessions. We must be more
concerned in acting with sincerity and genuine deeds will become worthless no matter
how valuable they are. We must do every good deed for the pleasure of Allah. Good
deeds with genuine intentions are more important than acquiring status. Holy Prophet
(PBUH) asked his companions to always have sincere motives for the good deeds
because showing off is a sign of hypocrites.
