Seven Stars Longevity Qigong (七星養生功)

(Text and demonstrates by Wyeming Ho)

1 Use cupped right palm to tap top of head lightly. Do it for about a minute or so. Repeat with
cupped left palm.
Benefit : Tapping this meridian point will help in the opening of the Dumai and Renmai and
allow the flow of Chi to move easily up and down the meridian connecting the lower body to
the head. Brings on a calming effect. Breathe naturally.

2. Place left palm with the thumb level with the navel. Four fingers down and in line with the
navel, use the middle finger of the right hand and press gently inwards. Inhale into the
Dantian, hold breath to a count of 5 and exhale. Repeat as many times as desired.
Benefit: Breathing and concentration of the hand movements improves the flow of blood and
Qi to the internal organs in this location. This helps to improve the absorption of nutrients by
the organs and improves the general health as the result.

3. Locate the midpoint between the eyebrow, press right index finger gently against it and
move the finger in a circular motion, first clockwise and then anti clockwise. Do each
motion for about 30 seconds. Breathe naturally.
Benefit: This has a calming effect. It allows the mind to focus on the point of contact and the
slow and gentle breathing calms the body as well as the mind.

4. Place both hands over the navel and rotates outwards widening the circle and then rotate
inwards, bring the hands back to the navel. Repeat rotation in the opposite direction. Do as
many rotations as desired. Breathe naturally.
Benefit: The massaging and concentration of the hand movements in this area allows for
better flow of blood and Qi into the abdomen region. This helps improve digestion and
relieves and discomfort in the area.

5. Place both hands, right over left at the front of the neck. Hold for a count of 50.
Benefit: this has the effect of warming the neck region, like wrapping a scarf across the neck
in cold weather. Warming this region will bring a general feeling of wellbeing and relax the
body at time of stress. Breathe naturally.

6. Locate the midpoint between the solar plexus and the navel. Using the index fingers of both
hands, press gently inwards and breathe into the Dantian. Do it for a count of 50.
Benefit. Pressing gently on this meridian point allow the Qi to flow to the extremities ie the
legs and toes, the finger and finger tips. This improves the general physical condition

7. Use the heel of the right palm and massage across the chest area to a count of fifty.
Benefit: This has the effect of calming the body and relieve stress . The massaging and
concentration of the hand movement warms up the area and improves circulation of the blood
and Qi the in upper part of the body. Breath naturally.

8. Place both hands o the lap, with the right thumb touching the tip of the middle finger and
the left thumb touching the 2nd joint of the left middle finger. Meditate.
