INTRODUCTION

I. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

In the passing of time, the classroom environment for teaching and learning has changed. What is needed
is a standard change among teachers and educators that this globalized, technology connected and forever
changing world needs new minds. Teaching must metamorphose to adapt to every generation. A lot of
people have a very conventional perspective of teaching. Inquire a mother how she visualizes her kid in
school, and she will define a room with a teacher at the front, within reach of a board (white, black, or
green), and students sitting at chairs, row behind row, listening and writing.

Ask a usual professor how teaching is best accomplished, and he may whisper something about
collaborative or interactive learning, technology and internet tools, and other such unconventional
creative approaches, but the truth is, he will most likely be just discussing to his students, trying to leave
as much knowledge as possible in the most traditional way of teaching possible. Even though there are
numerous books and records promoting technology driven teaching methods, most teachers still return to
the ancient, traditional direct lecturing and direct examination.

The truth of the matter is, it is much effortless to lecture than to grab the attention of one’s students, and
simpler to give traditional exams, which usually come with the workbook being used in the subject, than
to creatively create something different in any regard. Teachers have an insensible proneness to remain
with the old passive teaching style and to stop any initiative for more active methods of teaching and
learning. Studies have proven that student’s style of learning varies from one pupil to another.

This just means that in the ever changing generation that delivers a wide spectrum of abilities and
learning style, new tools and new ways of teaching is very essential. The old point of view is not only
unorganized but outdated and must be extinct. Technology has become a part of human's daily interaction
and it was accepted as an optimal tool for achieving ideal learning goals. A virtual classroom promotes a
different interactive learning using 21st century technology; making topics which cannot be made
understandable by teaching can be understood by showing photos or videos, introducing creative
presentations, and technology driven ideas related to the subject.

Virtual Room is consists of modern instruments like Projector, Television, Computer, Internet
Connection. In this study, we are going to evaluate the advantages of having "Virtual Room" to Grade 12
Students and how it can help the students to have data or information and share it with other teachers and
students as well.

IV. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

The classroom environment for teaching and learning has changed as the time progresses to the
technology age. The Grade 12 of Immaculate Conception Parochial School still uses more of the
traditional style of learning. The old-fashioned way of teaching or the conventional style was all about
recitation, memorization, and then examination. This teaching assumes that all students are on the same
level of understanding. The lack of virtual classrooms inhibits students to have a more fun and interactive
discussions, to have a head start on developing academic skills and well also to prepare them self for the
workplace of a better future to competitiveness. The technology driven teaching focuses more on the
students' individual needs; lacking of integration of technology to learning can be pivotal on students’
development of skills needed in the 21st century world.
