Good morning listeners. It’s ten o’clock in the morning and you’re listening to Headline
News in 007 Archid FM. I’m Mike Tjokro. The first newsworthy event comes from
Sulawesi.

The number of people injured (1) in the weekend earthquake in the Central Sulawesi
capital of Palu reached(2) 26. The earthquake, measuring 5,8 in the opened Ritcher
Scale, also damaged (3) or destroyed hundreds of buildings. So far no deaths have
been reported.

“Only 3 of the 26 injured are still being treated (4) at a government clinic. In the Sausu
Trans village, the rest have returned home,” Mohammad Haerollah, an official of the
Central Sulawesi Office of the Ministry of Social Services, told(5) the Jakarta Post
yesterday.

- Meminta partisipan untuk mengisi bagian kosong dalam teks sesuai dengan
monolog yang didengar/ fill in the blank (Latihan 1).
- Membahas jawaban fill in the blank (Latihan 1).
- Menjelaskan materi tentang news item (definisi dan tujuan)
- Memperdengarkan monolog news item kembali.
- Meminta partisipan mengisi table tentang 5 informasi yang dapat dipahami
dari teks serta menuliskan paragpaf yang dimaksud. (Latihan 2)
c) Kegiatan Akhir
- Menanyakan kesulitan-kesulitan partisipan selama pembelajaran.
- Menyimpulkan materi pembelajaran.
- Menutup pelajaran dengan salam.
