Section 1
Warranty
1 SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION (as defined in the General Conditions of Sale) warrants new Drill
Rigs, LHDs, Dump Trucks, Breaking, Crushing and Screening, Mechanical Cutting, Projects & Systems, Fire
Suppression and Automation Systems (PRODUCTS) supplied by SANDVIK MINING AND
CONSTRUCTION to be free from defects in material and workmanship.
v) Mechanical Cutting
a. Twelve (12) months from date of commissioning acceptance by Purchaser.

completed (Site Acceptance Test completed and signed-off) or eighteen (18) months after
shipment of components, whichever comes first.
d. Plants twelve (12) months from date of commissioning acceptance by Purchaser.
3 All the above mentioned periods are calculated from the date of start-up inspection at the first end user.
Under no circumstances will the warranty period exceed eighteen (18) months from the delivery to
Purchaser. Any liability whatsoever to any party, other than the first end user is expressly disclaimed. The
Purchaser agrees and acknowledges that all warranties shall immediately terminate in the event that the
Purchaser expressly or impliedly purports to transfer or assign or otherwise any of its rights under this
warranty to a third party. Any attempt by the Purchaser to transfer or assign the warranties provided by
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION to any third party shall be void, unless Sandvik has provided its
prior written consent to the Purchaser.
4 The unit start-up inspection form/ warranty registration card shall be filled in, signed by the end user and
sent to SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION representative within fourteen (14) days from start-up
inspection. The warranty period starts from the date the end user signs the start-up inspection form.
5 The engine warranty registration shall be completed with local engine representative. All engine warranties
shall be handled with local OEM engine representative.
6 The completed warranty registration form must be received by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION
representative before any claims for warranty will be processed.
i) natural wear and tear of the equipment, normal maintenance service such as but not limited to,
engine tune-ups, adjustments and inspections or normal replacement items (such as service filters),
and damage resulting there from;
ii) consumables such as but not limited to, seals, filters, hoses, v-belts, tyres, fittings, screws, bolts,
washers, rock drill connecting pieces, chucks, diaphragms, pick holders, conveyor chain, spray
nozzles, idlers, trailing cable, rubber skirting, pick bushes, teeth and knives, mantles and concaves,
manganese wear parts etc;
iii) parts which can be repaired or corrected with minimum action such as but not limited to, changing
of seals, tightening or adjustment;
iv) damage caused by breakage of the shank adaptor (excluding material or workmanship failure in
genuine SANDVIK shank adaptor);
v) damage caused by the Purchaser’s failure to store, maintain or operate the equipment properly, or
due to overloading or failure to pay proper attention to service and operating instructions or caused
by accident or caused by working beyond rated capacities or exceeding or not meeting
recommended power inputs;
vi) damage caused by negligence or failure of PURCHASER to maintain the equipment in accordance
with SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION’s maintenance recommendations, documented
service history is required;
vii) damage which is caused by but not limited to, operating conditions such as deep and/or aggressive
water, poor roadways, dust, poor ventilation, where components, which are designed and
manufactured according to industrial standards, fail prematurely;
viii) any defect or damage in materials or design provided by the PURCHASER, which are a
consequence of the PURCHASER’S action or stipulation affecting quality or structure;

ix) any parts or components manufactured or supplied by third parties or damage caused by such
parts or components to the PRODUCTS;
x) any costs such as labour, accommodation, meals travel and similar costs or any transportation;
xi) any direct or indirect consequential damage including but not limited to loss of revenue or profit,
loss of production or loss of use of any equipment;
xii) Product improvements/ updates made available by Sandvik, unless otherwise specified.
8 This Equipment warranty contains the entire warranty terms and conditions between Sandvik Mining and
Construction and the Purchaser. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this warranty or
otherwise, the Purchaser expressly waives all claims against Sandvik Mining and Construction (and against
it’s parent company, affiliates, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, employees, agents and vendors) for
any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, exemplary or punitive damages, including, but not limited to,
loss of actual or anticipated profits, revenues or product; loss by reason of shutdown or non-operation;
increased expense of manufacturing, operation, borrowing or financing; loss of use, productivity or shop
space; or increased cost of capital, and regardless of whether any such claim arises out of breach of
contract or warranty, tort (including negligence), product liability, indemnity, contribution, strict liability or any
other legal theory. All limitations in this warranty on Sandvik Mining and Construction’s liability shall apply
notwithstanding the fact that Sandvik Mining and Construction’s warranties fail of their essential purpose or
are held to be invalid or unenforceable.
9 Under no circumstances and in no conditions, shall SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION's liability
whether in respect of one claim or in the aggregate, arising out of any contract, exceed the purchase price
payable under the contract for such part in which the liability shall arise.
10 On receipt of notification of a warranted defect, SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION shall remedy the
defect at its own discretion in accordance with these terms of warranty.
11 Warranty claims less than fifty Euros (EUR 50) or the equivalent in another currency are not considered by
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION.
12 No claim will be considered, and this warranty will be considered null and void, if other than GENUINE
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION SPARE PARTS are used in the equipment or if GENUINE
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION SPARE PARTS are dismounted and used in another product
than the PRODUCT originally supplied to the PURCHASER by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION.
13 All Warranty claims need to have a proof of purchase which may include but not limited to:
i) Copy of invoice or order number; or
ii) Job Charge out report.
14 Warranty claims must be sent in writing using a "SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION Warranty Claim"
form. Warranty claims concerning the failure in rock drills should also include the "Drifter Failure Report"
form. Claims should include digital photographs of the failure where appropriate. The forms shall be
completely filled in and delivered to SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION representative within
fourteen (14) days from the time when the PURCHASER discovers or should have discovered the alleged
defect. Claims lodged after this period will be declined. Only one failure should be reported for each claim.
The warranty claim form should be sent to your local SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION
representative.
15 The obligation of SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION under this warranty is limited, at
PURCHASER’s option, to:
16 The warranty of a replaced or repaired part expires at the same time as the original warranty of the supplied
equipment.

17 The PURCHASER shall retain the claimed part for 90 days from claim settlement, for SANDVIK MINING
AND CONSTRUCTION's inspection and on request the alleged defective part shall be sent as directed by
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION and at SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION'S cost to a
destination designated by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION. No part may be returned to SANDVIK
MINING AND CONSTRUCTION without SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION'S prior written consent.
After warranty handling, the title to the defective parts shall be transferred to SANDVIK MINING AND
CONSTRUCTION.
19 APPEAL PERIOD FOR EACH SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION’S DECISION IN WARRANTY
CLAIM IS FOURTEEN (14) DAYS AS OF THE DATE OF DECISION AFTER WHICH THE SAID DECISION
IS FINAL.
20 This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties or conditions express, implied or statutory, including, but not
limited to, warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. No other warranties express or
implied are given unless they are expressly given by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION in writing.
21 This warranty shall not be suspended on the grounds of non-use, intermittent use or for any other reason.
1 SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION (as defined in the General Conditions of Sale) warrants new
spare parts supplied by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION to be free from defects in material and
workmanship in accordance with industry standards current at the time of sale when the parts are used as
a part of SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTS.
i) hydraulic rock drills mounted on used drill rig six (6) months or five hundred (500)
percussion hours, whichever comes first;
ii) for other spare parts the warranty period is three (3) months from date of fitment, with a
maximum of six (6) months from date of delivery;
iii) all major components mounted to used equipment six (6) months or five hundred (500)
operating hours, whichever comes first.
3 All the above mentioned periods are calculated from the date of delivery to the end user. Any liability
whatsoever to any party other than the first end user is expressly disclaimed.
4 The engine warranty registration shall be completed with local engine representative. All engine warranties
shall be handled with local engine representative.

i) natural wear and tear of the spare part and damage resulting there from;
ii) consumables such as seals, filters, hoses, v-belts, tyres, fittings, screws, bolts, washers
and rock drill connecting pieces, chucks, diaphragms, pick holders, conveyor chain, spray
nozzles, idlers, trailing cable, rubber skirting, pick bushes, teeth & knives, mantles &
concaves, manganese wear parts, G.E.T., etc;
iii) parts which can be repaired or corrected with minimum action such as changing of seals,
tightening or adjustment;
iv) damage caused by breakage of the shank adaptor (excluding material or workmanship
failure in genuine SANDVIK shank adaptor);
v) damage caused by the Purchaser’s failure to store, maintain or operate the spare part
properly, or due to overloading or failure to pay proper attention to service and operating
instructions or caused by accident or caused by working beyond rated capacities or
exceeding recommended power inputs or not meeting required power inputs;
vii) damages, which are caused by operating conditions such as deep and/or aggressive
water, dust, poor ventilation, where components, which are designed and manufactured
according to industrial standards fail prematurely;
viii) any defect or damage in materials or design provided by the PURCHASER, which are a
consequence of PURCHASER’S action or stipulation affecting quality or structure;
ix) any parts or components manufactured or supplied by third parties or damage caused by
such parts or components to the PRODUCTS;
x) any costs such as labour, accommodation, meals, travel and similar costs or any
transportation;
xi) any indirect or consequential damage including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of
production or loss of use of equipment;

8 This Parts warranty contains the entire warranty terms and conditions between Sandvik Mining and
Construction and the Purchaser. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this warranty or by
way or otherwise, the Purchaser expressly waives all claims against Sandvik Mining and Construction (and
against it’s parent company, affiliates, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, employees, agents and
vendors) for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, exemplary or punitive damages, including, but
not limited to, loss of actual or anticipated profits, revenues or product; loss by reason of shutdown or non-
operation; increased expense of manufacturing, operation, borrowing or financing; loss of use, productivity
or shop space; or increased cost of capital, and regardless of whether any such claim arises out of breach
of contract or warranty, tort (including negligence), product liability, indemnity, contribution, strict liability or
any other legal theory. All limitations in this warranty on Sandvik Mining and Construction’s liability, shall
apply notwithstanding the fact that Sandvik Mining and Construction’s warranties fail of their essential

9 In order to be able to avail himself of the rights under this Warranty, the PURCHASER shall notify
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION in writing without delay of any defects that have appeared and
shall give SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION every opportunity of inspecting and remedying them.
10 On receipt of notification of a warranted defect, SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION shall remedy
the defect at its own discretion in accordance with these terms of warranty.
11 The purchase Order Number and or Sandvik Invoice Number must be received by SANDVIK MINING
AND CONSTRUCTION representative before any claims for warranty will be processed.
12 Under no circumstances and in no conditions, shall SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION's liability for
any singular or aggregate claim arising under any contract or otherwise exceed the contract purchase price
of the part from which the liability arises.
13 No claim will be considered, and this warranty will be considered null and void, if other than GENUINE
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION SPARE PARTS and all consumables as originally installed by
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION are used in the PRODUCT.
14 Warranty claims must be sent in writing using a "SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION Warranty
Claim" form. Warranty claims concerning the failure in rock drills should also include the “Drifter Failure
Report” form. The forms shall be completely filled in and be delivered to SANDVIK MINING AND
CONSTRUCTION within fourteen (14) days from the time when the PURCHASER discovers or should
have discovered the alleged defect. The date of the Spare Part delivery to the end user must be proved in
writing. Only one failure should be reported for each claim. The warranty claim form should be sent to your
local SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION representative.
15 The obligation of SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION under this warranty is limited, at
PURCHASER’s option, to:
ii) replace the part, free of charge, DDP (delivered, duty paid, Incoterms 2000) at the place of
business of the SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION representative.
16 The PURCHASER shall retain and appropriately store the claimed part to allow accurate assessment by
SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION until the claim is settled. On request the alleged defective part
shall be sent as directed by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION and at SANDVIK MINING AND
CONSTRUCTION'S cost, to a destination designated by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION. No
part may be returned to SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION without SANDVIK MINING AND
CONSTRUCTION's prior written consent. After warranty handling, the title to the defective part will be
transferred to SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION.
17 APPEAL PERIOD FOR EACH SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION’S DECISION IN WARRANTY
CLAIM IS FOURTEEN (14) DAYS AS OF THE DATE OF DECISION AFTER WHICH THE SAID
DECISION IS FINAL.
18 This warranty is in lieu of all other warranties or conditions express, implied or statutory, including, but not
limited to warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. No other warranties express or
implied are given unless they are expressly given by SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION in writing.
19 This warranty shall not be suspended on the grounds of non-use, intermittent use or for any other reason.

1 SANDVIK MINING AND CONSTRUCTION (as defined in the General Conditions of Sale) warrants that
Sandvik Consumables delivered are free of defects, faults in workmanship, manufacture and material, free
of any liens or encumbrances and will be of the standard quality and not that such Goods will accomplish
any particular result.
4 All the above mentioned periods are calculated from the date of delivery to the end user. Any
liability whatsoever to any party other than the first end user is expressly disclaimed.

iii) damage caused by the Purchaser’s failure to store, maintain or due to overloading or failure to
pay proper attention to operating instructions or caused by accident or caused by working
beyond rated capacities or exceeding recommended power inputs or not meeting required

iv) any defect or damage in materials or design provided by the PURCHASER, which are a
consequence of PURCHASER’S action or stipulation affecting quality or structure;
v) any costs such as labour, accommodation, meals, travel and similar costs or any
transportation;
vi) any indirect or consequential damage including but not limited to loss of profit, loss of
production or loss of use of equipment.

6 This Consumables warranty contains the entire warranty terms and conditions between Sandvik Mining and
Construction and the Purchaser. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in this warranty or by
way or otherwise, the Purchaser expressly waives all claims against Sandvik Mining and Construction (and
against it’s parent company, affiliates, contractors, subcontractors, consultants, employees, agents and
vendors) for any consequential, incidental, indirect, special, exemplary or punitive damages, including, but
not limited to, loss of actual or anticipated profits, revenues or product; loss by reason of shutdown or non-
operation; increased expense of manufacturing, operation, borrowing or financing; loss of use, productivity or
shop space; or increased cost of capital, and regardless of whether any such claim arises out of breach of
contract or warranty, tort (including negligence), product liability, indemnity, contribution, strict liability or any
other legal theory. All limitations in this warranty on Sandvik Mining and Construction’s liability, shall apply

notwithstanding the fact that Sandvik Mining and Construction’s warranties fail of their essential purpose or

1. Introducción
1. INTRODUCCIÓN
CAPACIDAD: El KR551 entrega 700 scfm (354 l/s) de aire a 350 psi (24 bar) presión de descarga
con la presión de aire de la red en la entrada de 90 psi (6 bar).
Este manual contiene la descripción y operación de Sandvik, modelo KR551, y se puede usar
como ayuda en el Curso de Entrenamiento de Operadores de Equipos Sandvik.
El lado derecho del operador es el lado derecho del booster, enfocado desde el panel de
marcadores mirando hacia adelante (Fig 1.1).

El compresor del booster KR551 es de pistones, de una etapa, 3 cilindros, y con sistema de
lubricación. El compresor es propulsado por un motor eléctrico ubicado en una base de
deslizamiento.
El booster KR551 entrega 700 scfm (354 l/s) de aire a 350 psi (24 bar) presión de descarga con
presión de entrada de aire de la red de 90 psi (6 bar).

2.1.5. Rear
El post-enfriador requiere un mínimo de 2 gpm (7.6 lpm) de agua. Enfría la descarga de aire en un
mínimo de 100°F (39°C). Una válvula térmica controla esta descarga.

El Panel Eléctrico Principal es una caja metálica, hermética, la cual ha sido construida de acuerdo
a las Especificaciones NEMA 4.
NOTA: La Luz de Fase Reversa indica que los cables de conexión con el suministro de
potencia no están correctamente conectados.
NOTA: El motor eléctrico se apagará, o no partirá si alguna de las luces indicadoras
descritas anteriormente está encendida. Llame al personal de mantenimiento eléctrico para
que repare el problema.

PRECAUCION!
La eficiencia y la vida útil del booster van a depender de la calidad de mantenimiento que este
equipo reciba. Limpie las áreas de trabajo y las herramientas con solventes de limpieza. Los
paños de limpieza se necesitan para evitar transferir suciedad en los componentes del booster.
Limpie el exterior del compresor antes de comenzar el trabajo.

3.3. Partida
1. Complete todas las revisiones de pre-partida en el equipo de perforación y en el
booster.
2. Cierre la descarga del booster y conéctela al equipo de perforación. Instale el elemento
de sujeción de la manguera.
3. Conecte el suministro de aire y agua de la red en las entradas correspondientes. Instale
los elementos de sujeción de las mangueras.

4. Abra la conexión del aire de la red y las válvulas de entrada de agua para permitir el
flujo al booster.
5. Presione el botón “Prueba de Luces/ Re-inicio” en el panel para verificar que todas las
luces están funcionando. Ver Fig 2.3.2 para detalles de la sección indicadora del panel.
6. Arranque el compresor mediante el botón de partida en la sección indicadora del panel.
7. Abra la válvula de descarga en el booster para permitir el flujo hacia el equipo de
perforación.

Notas:
4.2.1. Instalación
Al instalar un compresor de reemplazo, asegúrese que el área de trabajo esté limpia y bien
iluminada. El aire comprimido es esencial para limpiar los componentes y piezas.
1. Monte el compresor en su lugar y llene con aceite al nivel apropiado. Gire la unidad
compresora con la mano para asegurarse que tiene movimiento libre.
2. Limpie todas las tuberías y mangueras para eliminar suciedad y trozos de rocas. Antes
de re-ensamblar las líneas, mangueras y conexiones, límpielas con aire comprimido.
3. Conecte todos los controles y monitoree las líneas. Para mayores detalles consulte el
Diagrama Esquemático de Aire.
4. Instale la correa y revise su alineamiento; corríjalo si es necesario. La tensión debe
ajustarse al punto donde la correa no resbale.
5. Conecte las líneas de entrada y descarga.
6. Limpie y revise la operación de la válvula piloto de descarga.
7. Siga los procedimientos de Pre-Partida y de Partida cada vez que instale un compresor
nuevo o reparado en el booster.
Cuando se coloca un compresor de reemplazo, nuevo o reparado; luego de las primeras 50 Horas
se debe drenar y llenar con aceite nuevo, y cambiar el filtro de aceite. Posteriormente, tanto el
aceite como el filtro se deben cambiar cada 250 Horas.
Luego de haber apagado el compresor las primeras veces, apriete todos los pernos, tuercas y
fittings de las mangueras. Revise la tensión de la correa cada vez que apague el compresor.
4.3.3. Lubricación
El programa de lubricación se debe cumplir para lograr un óptimo rendimiento del booster y evitar
costos por detenciones del booster debido a falla de algún componente por falta de lubricación.
Nota 3: La empaquetadura de la válvula de descarga debe reemplazarse cada vez que la válvula
se saca. Cubra los hilos del buje de la válvula con una capa de compuesto anti-atascamiento.
Apriete el buje a 150 ft-lbs.
Comentarios:
1. Repita todos los pasos del Mantenimiento Preventivo a las 250 Horas.
2. Reemplace las válvulas de succión, los sellos de fieltro, y los anillos-O.
Sumerja los anillos de fieltro en aceite antes de instalarlos. Cubra los
hilos de los bujes con compuesto anti-atascamiento. Apriete los bujes a
150 ft-lbs.
3. Reemplace las válvulas de descarga Las empaquetaduras de estas

PRECAUCION!
Lea todas las instrucciones de este Manual, antes de operar o de realizar alguna reparación en el
booster. Se deben cumplir todas las Reglas Generales de Seguridad Locales.

Importante!
Cada vez que deba trabajar en el booster, desconecte el suministro de aire de la red y verifique
que el sistema se ha drenado completamente antes de abrir alguna conexión. El aire comprimido
tiene una tremenda energía, la que se libera a la atmósfera al abrir alguna conexión. Se deben
seguir los procedimientos apropiados a fin de evitar serios accidentes.

Comentarios:
2.1. Válvulas
Una válvula de succión y una válvula de descarga están ubicadas en asientos individuales en
cada cilindro. Consulte el Manual de Partes para ver el diagrama de la válvula.
Las válvulas de succión y descarga son partes vitales en el compresor y se deben limpiar e
inspeccionar regularmente. Los factores que regulan la frecuencia de inspección y limpieza van a
depender de la calidad y tendencia a la carbonización del aceite que se use, la temperatura de
operación, y la limpieza que exista en el aire de succión.
Hasta que su propia experiencia le indique los intervalos de limpieza adecuados, inspeccione y
limpie las válvulas cada 250 horas, o una vez por mes (lo que ocurra primero). Si el rendimiento
del compresor baja o si las válvulas se calientan o se ponen ruidosas, detenga el compresor e
inspeccione todas las válvulas. NO CONTINUE OPERANDO EL COMPRESOR, YA QUE PUEDE
CAUSAR UN SERIO DAÑO. Nunca opere el compresor con piezas de la válvula quebradas o con
mucho desgaste. Mantenga un stock de ensambles de válvulas y empaquetaduras, a fin de
reducir el tiempo de detención debido a problemas en las válvulas.
La válvula de succión está equipada con un dispositivo descargador. El estanque receptor de aire
obliga a la válvula a mantenerse abierta. Este dispositivo de la válvula requiere desarme e
inspección. Las partes desgastadas o dañadas deben reemplazarse inmediatamente.
2.2.1. Instalación
Al instalar un compresor de reemplazo en el booster, asegúrese que el área de trabajo esté limpia
y bien iluminada. El aire comprimido es esencial para limpiar los componentes y piezas.
1. Monte el compresor en su lugar y llene con aceite al nivel apropiado. Gire la unidad
compresora con la mano para asegurarse que tiene movimiento libre.

Cuando se coloca un compresor de reemplazo, nuevo o reparado, luego de las primeras 50 Horas
se debe drenar y llenar con aceite nuevo, y cambiar el filtro de aceite. Posteriormente, tanto el
aceite como el filtro se deben cambiar cada 250 Horas.
Luego de haber apagado el compresor las primeras veces, apriete todos los pernos, tuercas y
fittings de las mangueras. Revise la tensión de la correa cada vez que apague el compresor.
Esta válvula piloto descarga el compresor cuando se ha alcanzado una pre-determinada presión.
La carbonización puede causar atascamiento en la válvula. Saque y limpie la válvula cada 250
horas. Inspeccione todas las piezas y vea si hay daño o desgaste. Se recomienda el reemplazo de
la válvula completa, en caso de daño. Re-ensamble la válvula después de una positiva inspección
y re-instálela. Ajuste las calibraciones como se describe en: “Procedimientos de Calibración de las
Válvulas”.
ADVERTENCIA!
Los rangos de presión descritos son para perforar a 350 psi (24.1 bar).
1. Esta válvula se mantiene cerrada mediante la presión de un resorte. La presión del resorte se
ajusta mediante el tornillo de ajuste que está arriba y que se mantiene en su lugar con la tuerca de
fijación. Esto controlará el punto de presión de descarga. Ajuste el tornillo en sentido del reloj a
una presión menor a la que el compresor descarga. El punto de calibración de la presión de
descarga debe ser de 370 psi (25.5 bar).
2. Revise nuevamente la presión a la cual el compresor carga. Si esta presión es menor a 320 psi
(22.1 bar), ajuste nuevamente. Para ajustar, saque el tornillo, la tuerca y la tapa. Agregue un
suplemento (laina) para aliviar la presión del resorte y repita el Paso 1. Ver Fig 2.2 and Fig 2.3.
Este sensor térmico apagará el motor del compresor cuando el punto de calibración de
temperatura se alcance. Se puede ajustar manualmente.
Este sensor térmico ha sido calibrado en fábrica para apagar el compresor cuando la temperatura
de descarga alcance 375F (190C). Para ajustarlo, gire el tornillo de ajuste en sentido contra el
reloj para aumentar la temperatura de desactivación y en sentido del reloj para disminuir la
temperatura de desactivación. Una vuelta completa equivale aproximadamente a una diferencia
de 75F (24C). Para calibrar este sensor, sumérjalo en aceite y caliente el aceite a 375F
(190C). Usando un ohmetro conectado como se muestra en la Fig 2.5, ajuste hasta que los
contactos del sensor abran, o que la resistencia sea infinita.

Esta válvula regula el flujo de agua en el intercambiador de calor para mantener la temperatura
deseada. La válvula abrirá al aumentar la temperatura en el sensor. No se requiere potencia
externa, debido al uso de un bulbo capilar que transmite la señal.
Esta válvula se puede ajustar con un destornillador. Gire el tornillo de ajuste en sentido del reloj
para disminuir la temperatura de abertura; y gire el tornillo en sentido contra el reloj para aumentar
la temperatura de abertura. La calibración en fábrica es de 125F (52C), aproximadamente.

El post-enfriador enfría el aire descargado desde el compresor. La correcta temperatura del aire
es esencial para extender la vida útil del equipo de perforación. La válvula de temperatura asegura
un adecuado flujo de agua a través del post-enfriador durante todas las condiciones de operación.
PRECAUCION!
Cuando el equipo de perforación está operando a alta presión, el operador debe monitorear
ocasionalmente la válvula reguladora de temperatura para asegurarse que el agua está fluyendo
desde la manguera de descarga. Cuando el operador desactiva el aire de perforación, el
compresor descarga, causando que la presión de aire de descarga baje. Esto reduce la
temperatura del aire de descarga. La válvula reguladora de temperatura percibe este cambio en la
temperatura y detiene el flujo de agua.
El mantenimiento del post-enfriador debe realizarse cada 1000 horas. Use una concentración
suave de limpiador para intercambiadores de calor. Enjuague con agua limpia desde la salida
lateral del agua side.
Desarme y haga mantenimiento a los filtros al menos cada 250 horas. Los drenajes pueden operar
a una descarga por minuto. La operación a más que una descarga por minuto indican que se
requiere un mantenimiento más frecuente.
1. Cierre la entrada de la válvula al lado de los filtros para aislar el suministro de aire.
2. Despresurice la carcaza de los filtros abriendo las válvulas de drenaje manual,
verificando que no están obstruidas.
3. Desconecte el drenaje externo.
4. Desconecte la carcaza del filtro.
5. Limpie la carcaza del separador.
6. Inspeccione los anillos-O y las empaquetaduras y reemplace lo que sea necesario.
Limpie el cuerpo del filtro.
7. Inspeccione o reemplace los filtros (si es necesario) y re-ensamble.
8. Registre la fecha de reemplazo.
9. Limpie el drenaje externo y reemplace los sellos si es necesario.
10. Conecte el drenaje.
11. Reconecte las líneas de drenaje, y cierre la válvula de drenaje manual.
12. Abra la válvula de aire (IN) y vea si hay fugas en los filtros.
