How to use different page orientations inside one document

Word 2016
Sometimes page orientation for a particular page has to be different from the rest of the document. E.g., usually the whole document
has the Portrait orientation, but for a page with the big table it is more convenient to use the Landscape orientation.
To change a page orientation, follow these steps:
1. Select pages or paragraphs that you want to 3. Click Custom Margins..., in the bottom of the list.
change to Portrait or Landscape orientation. 4. In the Page Setup dialog box, on the Margins tab,
2. On the Layout tab, in the Page Setup group, click choose Portrait or Landscape orientation.
Margins. 5. In the Apply to list, choose Selected text:

6. Click OK. Notes: Microsoft Word automatically inserts section breaks before and after the text that has the new page orientation. If your document is
already divided into sections, you can click in a section (or select multiple sections), and then change the orientation only for the sections that you have selected.
How to create different headers and footers for pages
with portrait and landscape orientation in Word
Word 2016
When you create a document with different page orientations (see How to use different page orientations inside one document), you
might need to create different headers and / or footers for pages with portrait and landscape orientation.
You can create different headers and footers for every Section in your document (see Working with headers and footers). When you
choose a different page orientation, you need to create a different section (see How to use different page orientations inside one
document). By default, Word automatically show headers and footers Same as Previous for all sections:

To create a different header and / or footer for the next section of your document, do the following:
1. Select the header or footer of the section, for which you want to change the header or footer (in the example, Section 2).
2. Under Header & Footer Tools, on the Design tab, in the Navigation group, uncheck the Link to Previous button
(by default this button is highlighted):

Word will show the empty header or footer. So, you can create a different one for the current Section, for example:

Note: All next sections in your document by default will show the header and/or footer from the current section. If you prefer to see the same header and/or
footer for all sections with portrait orientation, you need to repeat customization or copy it from the other section with the same orientation:

See also How to create different headers and footers on odd and even pages.
How to keep a row of the table on one page in a Word
document
Word 2016
When you work with tables in Word, you can see that Word automatically breaks rows on the page border. Usually, it
looks fine, but sometimes your table becomes unreadable. For example, when one or several lines of the paragraph
placed to different pages:

To keep all text of one row together, do the following:

1. Position cursor on the row and do one of the following:

 Right click in the table and select Table properties... in the popup menu:

 Under Table Tools, on the Layout tab, in the Table group, click on the Properties button:
2. In the Table Properties dialog box, on the Row tab, uncheck the Allow row to break across pages option:

3. Click OK.

Notes:

1. After these steps, you can see an ugly table again because the row with column headings was placed on the first
page and the rest of the table on the second:

To keep two or several rows together, see How to keep lines and paragraphs together in Word document.

2. To easy work with separated parts of the same table, you can duplicate table column headings across pages.
