WARNING

(eToken). And do NOT touch the other parts. Otherwise, an electric shock or
a malfunction may occur.

Do NOT insert the disk in Floppy disk drive and CD-ROM drive for long time.
Doing so will cause damage to drive.

1. Entering/Exiting the Chart Portfolio
1.1 Entering the Chart Portfolio (Startup Menu)
[Startup Menu]
1) On the operation panel, turn ON the power by
pressing the [PWR] key.
The Startup menu will be displayed.
2) Move the cursor with the mouse and left-click the
“ ” in the startup menu.
Then, the Chart Portfolio screen will be displayed.
Note:
• if no operation is conducted for about 10 seconds, the
Navigation & Planning start up screen will be displayed
automatically.
When Starting Chart Portfolio from the Navigation & Planning Menu
Both Navigation & Planning and Chart Portfolio are running concurrently. When changing
the display from Navigation & Planning to Chart Portfolio, select the following in order.
・ How to change the display from Navigation & Planning to Chart Portfolio
In the Navigation & Planning menu
Select [MENU]-[(8) Tool]-[(2) Chart Portfolio]-[(2) Top Window] in that order.
・ How to change the display from Chart Portfolio to Navigation & Planning
In the Chart Portfolio menu
Select [Tool]-[Change Navigation & Planning] in that order.
Note:
• When Chart Portfolio is started by selecting [Menu] - [(8) Tool] - [(2) Chart Portfolio] - [(1)
Create] from Navigation & Planning, be sure to exit Chart Portfolio before exiting Navigation &
Planning.
• It is not possible to select Chart Portfolio when the relative motion mode is selected or the radar
image is displayed.
• When a C-MAP Ed.3 chart is installed, Chart Portfolio cannot be started from the Navigation &
Planning.

1.3 Exiting the Chart Portfolio
Do not turn off the power during index creation by Chart Portfolio.

1.4 Chart Portfolio Screen
The Chart Portfolio main screen consists of the following parts:
• Menus
• Buttons (All button function can be accessible from the menu)
• Chart table display area
1) Menus
Chart:

Sort:
●[Retry Auto-Detect]:
Left-clicking this menu will re-read the charts of the selected type from the CD-ROM.
●Chart types ([S-57], [S-63 (Offline)], [C-MAP Ed.2], [C-MAP Ed.3] or [ARCS]):
The charts of the selected type will be displayed in the source/system chart table in
the Chart Portfolio main screen.
Edit:
●[Selectable Filter]:
Turns ON/OFF the filtering function.
●[Select All]:
Selects the all cells/zones in the source chart table on the Chart Portfolio main
screen.
●[Delete]:
Delete the selected cell in the system chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen.
View:
●[Chart Information]:
Shows the detailed cell information of the chart being selected in the source or
system chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen. (For S-57/S-63/C-MAP
Ed.2/C-MAP Ed.3)
●[ARCS License Information]:
Checks the validity of the ARCS license information and shows the check result.
●[Log]:
Displays the log on the right side of the screen during importing/updating process.
Other log may be displayed.

●[Last Update]:
“Last Update” instead of “Expiry” is displayed in the System Chart column of ARCS.
A date of updating by Chart Portfolio is displayed in the “Last Update” column.
●[Expiry]:
“Expiry” instead of “Last Update” is displayed in the System Chart column of ARCS.
A term of validity of the chart is displayed in the “Expiry” column.
●[View old Edition]:
As the latest edition is installed in the system, the older editions will not be displayed
in the source chart table.
Selecting this menu will show the older editions in the source chart table, and make
it possible to use them as desired.

Note:
・This is an administration tool. Do not use this menu.
●[Selectable Filter]
Filters the source charts to be displayed in the source chart table on the Chart
Portfolio main screen.
●[Clear Log]
Clears the log.
Note:
This function clears all log data. Clearing a part of log data is not supported.
●[Option]
Used to set options for “S-57”, “S-63”, “C-MAP Ed.2”, “C-MAP Ed.3”, “ARCS”, “Boot”
and “Advanced” panels.
●[Technical Tool]
(An administration tool.)
●[Change Navigation & Planning]
This item will be valid when [MENU] - [(8) Tool] - [(2) Chart Portfolio] - [(1) Create] is
selected from the Navigation & Planning menu. Chart Portfolio will not be displayed.
In order to redisplay the Chart Portfolio, select [MENU] - [(8) Tool] - [(2) Chart
Portfolio] - [(2) Top Window] from the Navigation & Planning menu.
Note:
• [Change Navigation & Planning] will only close the Chart Portfolio display. It will not exit
Chart Portfolio. In order to exit Chart Portfolio, left-click the [Exit] button.
• When C-MAP Ed.3 is installed in the system, it takes approximately 10 seconds for “Option”
panel of “Tool” menu to open after it was selected.

Left-clicking this menu will re-read the charts of the selected type
from the CD-ROM.
Shows the detailed information of the chart being selected in the source or
system chart table on the Chart Portfolio main screen.

6. Import/Update of C-MAP Ed.3 by Chart
Portfolio
Note:
• For CM-93/3 Electronic Chart Database (C-MAP Ed.3), an optional CMAP Ed.3 Upgrade
Kit is needed. Please contact our head office, a nearby branch or local office to request
the kit.
• For Navigation Workstation (NWS), an optional CMAP Ed.3 Upgrade Kit for NWS, not
same as for ECDIS, is needed. Please contact our head office, a nearby branch or local
office to request the kit.
• JRC standard ECDIS does not consist of DVD-ROM Drive. But CMAP Company has
promised to supply CMAP Ed.3 with CD-ROM. Please contact chart distributor to request
CMAP Ed.3 with CD-ROM if CMAP Ed.3 with DVD-ROM is supplied.
• For CMAP Ed.3 with DVD-ROM, an optional DVD-ROM Drive Kit is needed. Please
contact our head office, a nearby branch or local office to request the kit.
• Under upgrading CMAP Ed.3, the following items are not functioned. Thank you for
your understanding.
- Relative Motion Mode / Course Up Azimuth Mode
- Chart Fix mode
- Manual Updating
- Running Chart Portfolio on Navigation & Planning

6.2 Import of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart
6.2.1. Import of C-MAP Ed.3 chart
1) Insert C-MAP Ed.3 CD-ROM into the CD drive.
2) Select [Sort] - [C-MAP Ed.3] in that order.
C-MAP Ed.3 chart list is displayed.
If C-MAP Ed.3 chart list is not displayed, left-click the [Auto Detect] button.

Left-clicking of the [Log] button will show the import result.

4) Check that the import is completed, and then, left-click the [Exit] button to exit Chart
Portfolio.

6.2.2. Acquisition of Permission
1) Select [Tool] - [Option] in that order.
The “Option” panel opens.
2) Left-click the [C-MAP Ed.3] tab, and then, [Order/Regist/Confirm License...] button.
The “Registration Wizard” panel opens.
Select [Ordering].

4) Select zones or areas, and left-click the [Add->] button. Then left-click the [Next(N)]
button.

7) Select the FD drive where the order information will be saved, and left-click the [OK]
button to close the panel.
The name of the saved file is “order.txt”.

6.2.3. Loading of eToken license
1) Select [Tool] - [Option] in that order.
The “Option” panel opens.
2) Left-click the [C-MAP Ed.3] tab, and then, [Order/Regist/Confirm License...] button.
The “Registration Wizard” panel opens.

4) Select [Add License from file], and left-click the [Load] button.
The “Select License file” panel opens.
Select “password.usr”.
7) Check that the loading is completed, and left-click the [OK] button.
The display returns to the “Registration Wizard” panel.

8) Left-click the [Close] button.
The display returns to the “Option” panel.
9) A message indicating the completion of license registration appears. (It takes several
seconds for the message to appear.)
Then, left-click the [Order/Regist/Confirm License...] button.
The “Registration Wizard” panel opens.

10) Select [Confirm License], and left-click the [Next(N)] button.
11) Check the license information, and left-click the [Close] button.
The display returns to the “Option” panel.

6.2.4. Checking of chart display
1) Left-click [ ] in the startup menu to start Navigation & Planning.
2) Left-click the [MENU] button, and select [(2) Chart] - [(0) Option] - [(1)
S-57/C-MAP/ARCS...] in that order.
The “Chart Option” panel opens.

If the “World” check box is blank, check it.

6.3 Update of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart
1) Insert C-MAP Ed.3 CD-ROM into the CD drive.
2) Select [Sort] - [C-MAP Ed.3] in that order.
C-MAP Ed.3 chart list is displayed.
If C-MAP Ed.3 chart list is not displayed, left-click the [Auto Detect] button.

4) Check that the update is completed, and then, left-click the [Exit] button to exit Chart

6.4 Update of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart by e-mail
6.4.1. Real Time Updating (RTU) service
A Real Time Updating (RTU) service updates the CM-93/3 chart database via an E-mail using a
RTU server.

① Create a order file(e.g. JRC eT 30001.ord) by Chart Portfolio and save it to the floppy disk.
② Attach the order file to e-mail, and send it to the RTU Server (E-mail:updates@c-map.no).
④Update ③Receive
③ The e-mail will be automatically treated at the RTU server and the updates will be generated and
replied to you. (e.g. u001x002.ans)
④ Save the update(s) file(s) to the floppy disk or CD-R/RW and update the CM-93/3 chart
database by Chart Portfolio.

6.4.2. Update of C-MAP Ed.3 Chart by e-mail
1) Select [Chart] – [C-MAP Ed.3] – [Update Charts] in that order.
“C-MAP ED3 Chart Update” panel opens.
2) Left-click the [Create Chart Update Order to send via E-mail] button.
“C-MAP ED3 - Create Chart Update Order to send via E-mail” panel opens.

3) Insert a blank FD into the FD drive.
4) Select an updating database in the “Database” list box (a).
5) Select an updating Zone or Area in the “Zones” list box (b), and left-click the [>] button
(c).
6) Select a file size when receiving the update(s) file(s) from the RTU server from the “Select
e-mail size” combo box (d). [Recommended file size : 1.44MB(Floppy)]
7) Left-click the [Create] button.
A order file was created, “Select drive” panel opens.

8) Select the FD drive, and left-click the [OK] button.

10) Attach the saved order file (JRC eT *****.ord) to e-mail, and send it to the RTU Server
(E-mail:updates@c-map.no).
The e-mail will be automatically treated at the RTU server and the updates will be
generated and replied to you. (e.g. u001x002.ans)

This document describes the confirming items for correct installation of the C-MAP Ed.3 Chart.
WARNING
Turn off the power before opening the front cover for confirming licence key
(eToken). And do NOT touch the other parts. Otherwise, an electric shock or
a malfunction may occur.
CAUTION
Do NOT remove the licence key (eToken).
Otherwise a malfunction may occur.
(3) Confirm the License Key is installed into the USB port, and also check the System ID of the
installed Key.

2. Confirming System ID
(1) Press the [PWR] key to turn on ECDIS.
(2) After the [Startup] menu is displayed, click the [Chart Portfolio] button to start Chart Portfolio.
(3) Select [Tool] – [Option] in that order to display the [Option] dialog box.
(4) Click the [C-MAP Ed.3] tab and then the [Order/Regist/Confirm License…] button to display the
[Registration Wizard] dialog box.
(5) Confirm the C-MAP Ed.3 Pass destination in [Source Chart Path] is “D:”
If it is not “D:”, click the […] button to change it into “D.”
If the charts are expired, contact a sales representative of the Chart or C-MAP, Inc. to update the
subscription.
This is sample.
(2) After the [Startup] menu is displayed, move the cursor onto it and right-click to display the
[Password] dialog box.
(3) Enter the four digits password “0000” and click the [OK] button to display the [User Maintenance
Menu].
(4) Click the [CD Cleaner] button. Then, the dialog box is displayed and the cleaning starts.
To stop cleaning, click the [OK] button. Perform the cleaning for a few minutes.
