WATER PROOFING OF TERRACE

Sunken waterproofing

SPECIFICATION:
PART1: SEALING OF PIPE INSERTS
 Chiseling the concrete around the pipe in V groove and feeling the same
using mortar(1:3) admixed with NEPCRETE @ 200ml per bag of cement.
 Applying one coat of NEPCRETE, flexible an acrylic modified coating, by
mixing 1 part of NEPCRETE with 1.5-2 parts of cement, around the pipe,
over the field groove, to seal the surface and get good adhesion around
pipe and concrete.

PART2: WATERPROOFING
 Cleaning the surface and making it free from all loose particles and dust.
 If any visible cracks found, making a V groove and filling the same with
CRACK X, a crack filling material.
 Water ponding test for 24 hrs and injection grouting with NEPTUNE
TURBOGROUT mixed with cement @500 grams per bag of cement if any
leakage found.
 Making inverse coving on all junctions using cement sand mortar(1:3)
admixed with NPCERETE @200ml per bag of cement.
 Applying 1st coat using NEPGAURD 2K,an acrylic modified cementatious
coating, by mixing both components, and applying the mixed slurry with
brush/roller.
 Applying 2nd and final coat using NEPGAURD 2K,acrylic modified
cementatious coating, over the 1st coat when dry.
 Sprinkling dry sand over the final coat, while wet, to make a key to brick
bat coba.
 Water ponding the substrate for 48 hrs to check for any leakages.
WATER PROOFING OF TERRACE

PART 3: BRICK BAT COBA

 Over this 15 mm thick cement , sand mortar, 1:4 admixed , with
NEPTUNE RMW, integral waterproofing compound, is laid.
 On the above green mortar, a layer of brick bats, is laid, having on
average thickness of about 110 mm, about 50-70 mm near rain water
pipe and 150 mm ridge.
 The gaps between the brick bats are generally kept between 25 and 40
mm. these gaps are filled with cement sand mortar , 1:4, admixed with
NEPTUNE RMW. Curing should start next day.
 The top surface is then finished smooth with 20 mm thick cement sand
mortar, 1:4, admixed with a NEPTUNE RMW. All liquid admixtures
should be mixed with the mixing water. The surface when green is
marked with 300 mm false squares. Curing is to be done by ponding.
WATER PROOFING OF TERRACE

 Cleaning the surface and making it free from all loose particles and dust.
 Filling all visible cracks and constructions joints by opening them in V
groove and filling the same with CRACK FILL, a joint /crack filler material
 Making inverse coving on all junctions using CRACK FILL, a joint/crack
filler material.
 Appling first coat using NEPFLEX HIGH COAT PRIMER, with brush/roller,
over the prepare surface.
 Appling 2 coats using NEPFLEX HIGH COAT, an SBS modified elastomeric
coating, over the primer coat, while dry. Total consumption of 2 coats to
be at 1.2 kg/m2 of NEPFLEX HIGH COAT.
 Laying 120 gm GEO TEXTILE Fibre over the water proofing system while
dry.
 Over this 15 mm thick cement, sand mortar, 1:4 admixed, with NEPTUNE
RMW, integral water proofing compound, is laid.
 On the above green mortar, a layer of brick bats, is laid, having on
average thickness of about 110 mm, about 50-70 mm near rain water
pipe and 150 mm at ridge.
 The gaps between the brick bats are generally kept between 25 and 40
mm. These gaps are filled with cement sand mortar, 1:4 admixed with
NEPTUNE RMW. Curing should start next day.
 The top surface is then finished smooth with 20 mm thick cement sand
mortar, 1:4 admixed with a NEPTUNE RMW. All liquid admixtures should
be mixed with the mixing water. The surface when green is marked with
300 mm false squares. Curing is to be ponding.

NOTE:
72 hour water pond to check for any leakages before going in
for BRICK BAT COBA work
