Structural Design Calculation Report Rev. : 00 Page : 4 of 38
1. INTRODUCTION
This report is provided as a brief summary of the design of structural space framing
calculations, made to support the roof of the roof membrane of the “LIGHT RAIL TRANSIT
(LRT)”, Indonesia. The roof consists of a series of elongated pulls membrane with a barrel
roof shape. Support for all structures is formed by a frame truss in each series of roof
membranes. The frame structure of the roof membrane is a series of curved steel structures
supported by the edge of the column with the column distance to the column includes
dimensions 3.4 m.
2. DESIGN LIMITATION
The structural analysis and design provided in this report only covers the brief analysis that
ensures the support space frame (framing and column truss) adequacy in withstanding the
roof against the live-load and wind load. The tensile membrane itself and or the structural
basement building check beneath the column truss support are not covered.
The analysis constitutes a static analysis only (in-place condition), while seismic is excluded
as it has insignificant impact compared to the wind. Any induced load unless what has been
described in the analysis, are not to be taken into account and hence any failure against
them are outside of the scope.

4. METHOD OF ANALYSIS
The calculation is generated using StaadPro structural program that models the 3 (three)
dimensional structural framing for support frame, column truss, slings and the Finite Element
Model (FEM) for the roof membrane. The use of roof membrane FEM model is limited only
for gaining the ‘more correct’ load distribution while the membrane stiffness contribution to
the entire analysis process is neglected..
The analysis considers the load of: self-weight of the support frame, self-weight of the
membrane of 750 g/m2 (with allowing some miscellaneous component), live-load of 20 kg/m2
(PPIUG’83) and the wind speed of 25 Kg/m2 (PPIUG’83). The wind speed envisaged herein
constitutes a reduce one due to the building blockage around the ‘roof membrane farm’ area.
Pre-stress Membrane :

The prestress membrane is derived from separate membrane finite element analysis (using
M-Panel program) with the provision as outlined beforehand. The result of tensile load is as

(Allowable Stress Design) group.
Load combination:
2. ANALYSIS RESULTS
2.1 STABILITY
The stability check constitutes the displacement check due to the ASD load combination
group. It is found that the deflection of the support frame is within the considered limit. See
Appendix C. Thus the structure is concluded to be firmly stable.
Based on the result of UC check, all structural support frame is found satisfactory (<1.0). See
Appendix D. The maximum UC is 0.469 for Column.
From the result of stability and strength adequacy above, therefore it is concluded that the
support structure framing is satisfactory to withstand the assumed load and load combination
described in Section 4.0. It is recommended to control the load application specifically the
initial pre-stressed for not exceeding the limit used in the analysis.

CONCLUSION
SPECIFICATION ANGKUR CHEMICAL
Based On Calculation :
1. Anchor using M12, effective anchor depth L=110mm.
1 anchor = 20.4 kN (Tensile) = 2.0802 Ton = 2080.2 Kg
1 anchor = 12.6 kN (Shear) = 1.2848 Ton = 1284.8 Kg
For one column using 4 Anchor Chemical
4 anchor = 4 x 2080.2 Kg = 8320.8 Kg > 3041.550 Kg (Fu Tensile).
4 anchor = 4 x 1284.8 Kg = 5139.2 Kg > 378.484 Kg (Fu Shear).
2. Baseplate thickness t=15mm is still acceptable.
