THE HOLY BIBLE

Objectives: At the end of the lesson, the learners will


1. Cognitive (CREED/DOCTRINE): define the meaning of the Bible and memorize the books in the Bible.
2. Psychomotor (CODE/MORAL): To write your own story with God as you continue your journey with
Him.
3. Affective (CULT/WORSHIP): appreciate the words of God through reading the scripture.

1. When you hear the word Bible, what comes to your mind?

BIBLE – WORDS OF GOD


 Medium in Communication.
 Words are important and forget that sometimes.
 Yes, words are important because we need them to communicate but the way that words are
presented, spoken, and written are a whole different level of communication.
 We forget how dangerous and beautiful words can be
 Simple words can completely change your life.
 Words have Power. ( Handle them carefully )

Group Activity:
Guide questions:
1. What were the sweetest words or messages that you’ve heard or read from your whole life? Share
your experience.
2. In contrast, what were the words or messages that somewhat destroy you? Share your experience.
3. State any realizations and reflections about the importance of words.
( Ask them, to pass 3 greatest/immediate/reasons why words are powerful.)

 Don't ever think that your words don't matter. Your words matter.
 Your words can change someone's life
 Whether it's what we say or what we write, we can't forget the power that our words hold
 We should not let ourselves forget how important words are
 Your words can make someone fall in love and that is life changing
 Everything begins with a word.
 Words consist of vibration and sound. It is these vibrations that create the very reality that surrounds us.
 Without words, a thought can never become a reality.
 “ CHANGE YOUR WORDS, TO CHANGE YOUR WORLD”
 We cannot avoid to hear words that may destroy us. But we can choose words to: Uplift us, encourage
us, motivate us and even inspire us.
 Words that can only be found in Jesus Himself, in His story, experiences, mission for He is the word.
 ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.’ ( Jn.1:1
 Jesus’ words are essential, beneficial, satisfying, relieving, sustaining, sufficient and nourishing
 Thus, His words are worth dying for.

How will you define the word BIBLE?


 It is from the Greek word “ BIBLIA”, and from the Hebrew word, “ TA BIBLIA”.
 It is a collection of 73 books written by numerous author.
 The Bible is defined as the, “compilation of sacred writings, the inspired word of God.”
 8 other names of the Holy Bible: word of God, Sacred scriptures, Old and New testaments, Old and New
covenants, Sacred books, Holy Writ , Book of books and The Good Book.

TWO MAIN PARTS / DIVISIONS OF THE HOLY BIBLE


Old Testament - God's dealings are mainly with His chosen people, the Jews
- HISTORY
- 46 books.

New Testament - God's dealings are mainly with His church (Matthew 16:18
- FULFILLMENT
- 27 BOOKS

 The meaning of the word “Testament” is “agreement”. The first half of the Bible revolves around the
agreement that God made with the Israelites at Mt. Sinai, while the second half revolves around the
agreement that God made available to all people through the death of Jesus Christ.

 We are ask to read the Bible not to remember, but to realize.
 For, the more we read the Bible, the more we know the Author.
 For many books can inform us, but only Bible can transform us.

Group Activity: How are you using your words today, to build up or to tear down? What do you think
are the effects of your words to you and to others? ( You may make your way of assessment for them to
have an output of their sharing, But in my class I ask them to compose a song about the power of words
related to the words of Gos in less than 2 minutes.)
