COURSE DESCRIPTION
A course dealing with the study of transmission media; radio wave propagation; wire and cable
transmission systems; fiber-optic transmission system; transmission lines and antenna systems.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOME

By the end of the semester, student can:
1. Explain how transmission lines work in communications systems.
2. Perform impedance matching using the Smith Chart.
3. Verify the concept of operation of fiber optics transmission media.
4. Analyze the performance of different types of antennas.
5. Learn to analyze and interpret data from experiments involving transmission lines, fiber
optics and antennas
6. Apply the knowledge learned by designing an antenna system used in communications.
