Important Specs. Pipe Joints
• In sewer lines we have to maintain a slope as • Asbestos Pipe Joints
it travels under gravity.
• The emphasize in that case is therefore more
on invert levels.
• Water lines usually we do not need slope.
• Pipe must be placed 2’‐6” below from ground Collar + Rubber Ring (made up of asbestos)
level (G.L.)

Pipe Joints Pipe Joints
• C/C Pipe or RCC (Typically Sewer Pipes)
• G.I. Pipes are gas welded.
• To avoid rust, “Safeeda’ is applied on G.I.
Pipes.
• Cocking arrangement Cocking arrangement
– Cement
– Jute
– Concrete
– Duracrete is used as fillings if any gaps are formed.

Backfilling
Water Pipeline
• If smaller diameter pipe (i.e. <18”) is being

laid, backfilling, compaction, removal of
surplus is included in excavation
1’‐0”’ min
Sand Cushions • If diameter > 18”, counted as separate item.
3’‐0”
Pipeline is provided 3’‐6” away from the property line.
