Why does
cyberbullying
happen?
1. Cyberbullies are motivated by REVENGE - seek revenge
instead of coping in healthier ways.

2. Cyberbullies believe the victim DESERVES IT - often revolves

around a person’s social status at school.

3. Cyberbullies are BORED - looking for entertainment.

4. Cyberbullies care under PEER PRESSURE - to fit in with a

group of friends or clique.
5. Cyberbullies think EVERYONE IS DOING IT - engage in the
behavior themselves.
6. Cyberbullies are POWER HUNGRY - make fun of less popular
and increase their power.

7. Cyberbullies believe they WON’T GET CAUGHT - the

anonymity of the internet gives kids a false of security.

8. Cyberbullies LACK EMPATHY - isn’t a big deal because they

do not see the pain they caused.
