BACHELOR
OF LAWS
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree entitles its holder to be admitted as an Advocate
and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya after undergoing a period of pupillage.
The LLB curriculum comprises both the academic as well as the professional
components of legal training.
LLB curriculum requires students to fulfil 160 credits within the minimum of 8
semesters with an additional 1 special semester before being awarded the Bachelor
of Laws degree. These 160 credits are divided into four levels – the Preliminary level,
COURSE STRUCTURE the Intermediate levels I and II and the Final level. Mooting is compulsory at the
Intermediate I level while at the Intermediate II level, students have to undergo
Courses Credit industrial training at law firms, courts and other legal bodies.

Entry Requirements
A Malaysian candidate who wishes to pursue a programme of study at the University of Malaya must fulfill the University's entry requirements as follows:
(1) Passed the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a credit (Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia subject or a credit (Grade C) in Bahasa Melayu/
Bahasa Malaysia July paper and pass in History (SPM 2013 and above); and
(2) Achieve a minimum Band in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) as required in special requirements of the programme; and
(3) Fulfilled any of the programme Special Entry Requirements as below:
STPM - Science and Arts Stream MATRICULATION/ FOUNDATION - Science, Accounting and Law Stream
- Passed the STPM with CGPA of at least 3.00; - Passed the Ministry of Education Malaysia Matriculation / Foundation in Law
and with at least CGPA 3.00;
- Obtained at least Grade B+ for General Studies at and
the STPM level;
- Obtained at least Grade B+ for Bahasa Melayu at SPM level;
and
and
- Obtained at least Grade B+ for Bahasa Melayu at
SPM level; - Obtained at least Grade A- for English at SPM level;
and
and
- Obtained at least Band 4 in MUET ;
- Obtained at least Grade A- for English at SPM level;
and

- Excellent in interview
- Obtained at least Band 4 in MUET;
