‘S ince 1980, Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management popularly known as GITAM has been

providing quality higher education in a serene and invigorating environment in over 100 acres lush
green campus at a stone throw-away distance from Bay of Bengal. It has moved-up from an affiliated
college to University in the year 2007.

GITAM University now has an off-campus facility at Hyderabad offering courses in Technology and
management from the year 2009-10.

GITAM University is a multi-disciplinary university offering varied UG & PG courses in over 50 emerging
areas that bear a direct relationship to economic growth and development of the society. Most of the
programmes constitute a balanced blend of the conventional courses and career oriented options,
although in recent years the tilt is towards introduction of more career oriented options. The curriculum
design takes into account the thrust on national development. Interactions within the University and
with industries have been organized in the past and as a result, new programmes have been launched
by the University. Courses promoting skills development and value orientation are also offered by the
University and avenues for experimental learning are being attended. Computer skills have been
incorporated as an integral part of the curriculum in many of the programmes offered by the University.

‘Since 1988, the GITAM INSTITUTE OF

offering value based professional management
education from undergraduate to doctoral
research. The institute is a pioneer in the
introduction of many innovative and career
focused management programs and in the

The Institute has now over 700 students pursuing


management degrees. The institute has been University of Glasgow
recognized by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh & AICTE
and accredited with ‘A’ grade by National
Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC),

‘Diversity in teaching methods is a
major strength of the Institute. The
teaching methods adopted by the in-
stitute are therefore practical and situ-
ational. Nearly seventy percent of the
time of each course is devoted to ex-
posing students to real life manage-
rial situations, Case studies, Role
play, Group Discussions, Quiz, De-
bates etc. Audio-Visual aids are an
integral part of the teaching. GIM fac-
ulty body is a rich amalgam of experi-
ence as well as knowledge. The fac-
ulty comprises of regular faculty, as-
sociate faculty and practicing busi-
ness executives. In addition to teach-
ing, faculty are also involved in on-
going research projects, which pro-
vides new perspectives and under-
standing of the present day business
situations. Faculty comprises 45 full
time faculty and 19 visiting faculty (full
and part-time).

GIM’s Faculty regularly interacts with


other organizations, both Government
and Private through training,
consultancy and research projects. In-

of Glasgow, UK, University of Central
Michigan, University of Nebraska,
Omaha, University of Cambridge for
BEC programme, HPCL and Panta-

GIM has been organizing an all India B-School meet, GEM
(GITAM MANAGEMENT EXCELLENCE MEET) once in two
years during the last decade. This event provides excellent
opportunity for the students to apply what was learned in
the classroom by planning & organizing this mega event

are invited. Through management club, GIM students are

HOSTELS The GITAM campus hostels – Kokila Sadan for girls,
Saddharma Sadan and Santhi Sadan for boys accommodate 900 girls
and 660 boys respectively. GITAM hostels have all amenities including

HOBBY CENTRE GITAM conducts musical and cultural training programmes


for the enthusiastic students to refresh themselves. The hobby centre is well

GAMES & SPORTS GITAM has about 5 acres of land devoted for Sports

SOFT SKILLS DEVELOPMENT
In order to meet the corporate requirements, GIM has introduced Personality
development training program for all the students with trainers from reputed training
agencies in the country. Each student takes a comprehensive Psychometric and
English Proficiency test to know the present skill sets. Thereafter career guidance is
offered by a psychologist. Based on the feed-back from the test, a detailed training
module is designed by the counselors.

BUSINESS ENGLISH CERTIFICATE (BEC) from Cambridge University, UK


GIM is the first college in AP, to have received MoU from the British Council to
deliver industry sought Business English Certificate program of Cambridge University.
After the diagnostic test, training is offered to students in BEC modules. At the end of
the training and examination the students receive certificate from Cambridge Univer-
sity in either BEC Preliminary, Vantage or Higher. This program has been made
mandatory for all the students.

GURUKOOL
Gurukool is a Three and half days OUTBOUND Training program designed
for synchronizing the mind, body & soul for overall development of the self. It is
developed to cover a wide range of topics from as basic as grooming & etiquette to
complex modules of team work & leadership. All the students take part in this
program organized by FUTURE LEARNING of FUTURE GROUP.

At GIM, the key word in the campus recruiting program is flexibility. GIM recruiting team will individually work
with recruiters to customize services to ensure that the recruiters will be successful in their efforts for both
career and summer employment. GIM offers companies the flexibility of choosing interviewing schedules.
THE PLACEMENT OFFICE is truly a professionally managed customer service center.
Instructions for the recruiters to select students for Final or Summer Placement:

1. The recruiter should send the letter of intent through e-mail/fax/courier to the Placement Officer with
the details of the job offers. The date of PPT and interview will be finalized after mutual consent.
2. The recruiter should send the list of facilities/items required and arrangements to be made prior to the
visit. The recruiters can use all the infrastructure and hospitality during their visit.
3. The recruiters are required to complete all the formalities within the time allocated and should inform
the Placement Office about the selections.
4. The recruiters are requested to send their consent by email : placement.gim@gitam.in on or before 10th
April 2010 .

PLACEMENT FORTNIGHT 2010 – 15/4/10 to 30/4/10


GIM is organizing fortnight for the benefit of recruiters and students from 15/4/10 to 30/4/10. During this
period all the out-going students of MBA, BBM and BBA(Hons) are available for campus recruitment.
Recruiters are requested to book their slot in advance to avoid conflict with other schedules.
