QA/QC Mechanical Piping & welding Inspector

April 2016 – Jun 2018

Brullus combined cycle power plant 4800 MW

Achievements:
 I was in charge of thoroughly testing, qualifying and certifying welders which in
turn cost-effectively deducted the money destined for repairs or any additional
inspections throughout the project.

 Develop project documents like quality plan, procedures and welding documents
according applicable codes and contractor specifications resulting in easily
producing 50 thousands inch of sound welds with low cost and high quality.

 Follow up the hydro test process to assert it is compatible with standards and codes
by using the proper preparations, proper pressure and suitable holding time
achieving no failure in materials or equipment and no loss in life by strictly applying
safety instructions.
 Monitor each preheat and post heat welding process to make sure every cycle take
the exact time and temp according the codes and standards resulting in no
deviation in the mechanical properties or malfunction of machine happened which
in turn prevented neither repeating any cycle nor occurrence of material failure
during operation.

 Successfully lead a team of two inspectors and two professional supervisors to do

day to day site supervision including supervising and monitoring the site labour
force and work and report if any unexpected technical problems aroused so solution
can be provided as soon as possible to save effort and money and as a result 400
MW heat recovery steam generator (HRSG) was executed in perfect time with no
difficult issues.

 Design punch list for systems that are almost finished and clear all punch items that
will restrain the test before the system is fully completed to perform the test in time
and avoid faced penalty.

 Provide and review test packages for piping system readily before hydro test
preventing any possible delay.

damage and review certificates to confirm they are valid to use and meet
required mechanical and physical properties preventing the failure from
occurring in the base metal during the test.

 Handle properly the welding consumables storage and usage to avoid any
loss or damage and maintain the cost.

 Follow up welding activities at the fabrication workshop to confirm the

process is going the right way and also supervise the individuals leading to
obtain welds of high quality that meet the specifications and free of flaws
