CUMULATIVE FDI INFLOWS:

Cumulative FDI equity inflows all Countries in India during the period from January,
2000 to December, 2011 are US$ 165.68 billion, excluding amount remitted on
RBI’s-NRI Schemes. These FDI inflows do not include country-wise data on ‘Re-
invested earnings’ and ‘Other capital’, which are, not maintained by RBI.

 BRIEF NOTE ON FDI IN KARNATAKA
(RBI’S REGIONAL OFFICE – BANGALORE)

An analysis of the foreign direct investment (FDI) equity inflows, received in India,
since 2000, shows that the FDI equity inflows have risen substantially.

CUMULATIVE FDI EQUITY INFLOWS (remittance-wise) received during January,

2000 to December, 2011 were Rs. 747,985.14 crores (US$ 165.68 billion).

2. FDI inflows in respect of State specific are not maintained by RBI, Central Office,
Mumbai. RBI maintains the FDI inflows data as per RBI’s Regional Offices where the FDI
inflows is reported to the Authorized Dealers of RBI. Many RBI Regional Offices covers more
than one State. The RBI’s Bangalore Regional Office covers the State of Karnataka. The
amount of RBI inflows, project specific, in respect of all the States, is centrally maintained by
RBI for the period from January, 2000 onwards only.

3. However, the FDI inflows reported to RBI’s Bangalore Regional Office is Rs.
42,462.14 crore (US$ 9.48 billion) which is 5.72% for the period from January, 2000 to
December, 2011 on the basis of the cumulative inflows received through SIA/FIPB route,
acquisition of existing shares & RBI’s automatic route.
