Learning Outcome:

After completing this exercise, you will be able to:

• Know the types of keywords.
• Practice keyword research.
• Use Google Ads’ Keyword Planner tool for keyword research.
 Problem Statement

Scenario:
Recall the types of keywords. After that, select a website of your own choice on the internet. Select 2-3 pages of
that website and brainstorm few possible words or phrases that are relevant to the selected pages. Brainstorm few
possible words or phrases relevant to the selected pages of the website. Open “Keyword Planner” tool on Google
ads account and put all words or phrases one by one. Keyword Planner tool will display all the possible keywords,
which other people are searching. Pick the most relevant keywords from the list and group them. Now, prepare a
MS word document file comprising of business summary of the website, name of each page of the website with its
URL, list all relevant keywords below the name and URL of the respective page. Also insert the screenshots of the
displayed keywords on the “keyword planner” tool.

You can choose any authentic business website on the internet. It can be an ecommerce store, restaurant,
clothing brand, travel agency, IT consultancy, news website, informational website, etc.

Tasks:
1. Secondly, select a website of your own choice from the internet.
2. Write a summary about the business of the selected website in word document file.
3. Select 2-3 pages of that selected website.
4. Think of words or phrases related to each selected page of the website.
5. Now, open “Keyword Planner” tool of “Google Ads” and put all the words or phrases one by one in the tool.
6. Write name of each selected page and paste URL of that page in the MS word file.
7. After this, list all relevant keywords displayed on the tool below the respective page of the website in the
word document file, supported with screenshots of the listed keywords from the tool.
8. After completing all tasks, submit Hands-on exercise 1.

NOTE:
1. This Hands-On Exercise will be evaluated based on the procedure and steps that you shall follow
during the exercise.
2. Insert the snapshots/screenshots that you have taken.
3. You can also use your existing Google account or create a new account.
4. We will analyze your solution based on the steps that you would perform.
