FEASIBILTY STUDY
UILS will have an associated hosting cost. There will be no cost will charge
to the users of the system. Bug fixes and maintaining tasks will have an
associative costs.
Initially, the web site will be hosted in a free web hosting space, but for later
implementations it will be hosted in a paid web hosting space with a sufficient
bandwidth. Bandwidth required in this application is high, since it does
incorporate multimedia aspect.
Resource Feasibility:
Programming device (Laptop)
Hosting space (initial free hosting)
Programming tools (Xampp, Browser, Code Editor)
Programming individuals(Frontend Developer, Backend Developer.)
The system will contain multimedia aspect, so the file sizes and the
complete project would use huge amount of bytes.
The project UILS will have deadlines and deliverables that are scheduled.
The project will take about 12 weeks depending on the coding and designing. The
deadlines are quite reasonable.
Users has different categories. Based on consistency of their needs, the
system can support many number of users simultaneously. Students, teachers,
parents and visitors can access the system automatically only for location
purposes. While teachers, dean of colleges, and administrative staff can only
manage and update information depending on its access rights.
With regard to the usability, the system is highly improved by designing a
user friendly interface that is very easy to navigate for the users and making GUI’s
easy to use.
At the initial stage the associated cost will be for the hosting cost.
For the main project management, Microsoft Office Word will be used as a
tool.
Are compilers or code generators available and appropriate for the system to be
built?
PHP will be used as the main scripting language. Xampp Control Panel will
used for creating a local web server for testing and deployment purposes
and scripting language PHP is included in an extractable file. All HTML,
Javascript, PHP files can be run on a browser. All the libraries and
interpreters will be freely available.
Are testing tools available and appropriate for the system to be built?
Google Chrome Browser is the main testing tool that will be used. Google
Chrome is freely available browser that supports web testing.
The deliverables will be packaged under a single project. Users such as;
teachers, admin staffs, and the dean will only have a single login page.
UILS will follow the Rational Unified Process in software development. This
provides business modeling, analysis and design, implementation, testing, and
deployment.
Software code will be freely available and the code documentation will be
provided.
Use case testing will be used as the main testing tool to execute different
scenarios and end-user functionalities. Use case testing
identify test cases that cover the entire system.
Are configuration management software tools used to control and track change
activity throughout the software process?
TECHNOLOGY RISKS
Is the technology to be built new?
All the technologies are very well established and old enough but updated.
The system will bring advancement to the school facilities.
Do the system requirements demand the creation of new algorithms, input or output
technology?
UILS will only have several queries from the desired user input. The system
will include insertion, updating and deletion of records.
UILS uses freely available development tools. The system legally required to
limit access to specific users. The project team have to make a thorough
analysis of the legal issues surrounding the project, across several dimensions.
A detailed legal due diligence should be done to ensure that all foreseeable legal
requirements, which have not or will not be dealt with in other appraisal
exercises, are met for the development of the project.
UILS eliminates the effort of finding school rooms and facilities. PHINMA UI
is a high performing school. As time passes by, more infrastructures, facilities
and rooms are built. It will have a great impact to implement the system for the
excellence and development of the University through technological
advancement.
