Workers are Needed With

and Without Experience
Matthew 9:35-38

Sunday, 14 July 2019

Yerevan
The Workers Are Few

 35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their
synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing
every sickness and every disease among the people.

 36 And when he saw the multitudes, he had compassion on them;

for they were forsaken and scattered like sheep without a shepherd.

 37 Then said he unto his disciples, The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers
are few.

 38 Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his
harvest.
7 Key Point

1.- Jesus invested his time in preaching the Gospel of the

Kingdom of Love of God.
2.- Jesus is the model of a humble servant who came to serve
and not to be served.
3.- Jesus' priority was not to seek his own benefit but to serve
others.
4.- Jesus is interested in improving the quality of life of people
(He healed every sickness and disease of the people).
5.- Jesus had compassion on the helpless who live without
purpose in life.
6.- Jesus declares that the harvest is plentiful and the workers
are few.
7.- Are you willing to work serving the Lord?
1.- Jesus invested his time in announcing the Gospel of
God's Kingdom of Love.

 Matthew 6:25-33:
 25 “ThereforeI tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or
about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more
than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in
barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable
than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[e]?
 28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They
do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was
dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is
here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—
you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we
drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your
heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his
righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

¿Are you investing your time in announcing the Kingdom of God in those hearts where
Christ does not yet rule? (Reflect on your heart in silence)
Who is sitting ruling on the throne of
your heart?

Hisusy Kam Yes?

God wants to reign in the heart all the peoples of the

earth.
2.- Jesus is the model to imitate of a humble
servant who came to serve and not to be served.
Philippians 2: 3-8

 3 Do
nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others
above yourselves,
 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:
 6 Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing

by taking the very nature[b] of a servant,

being made in human likeness.
8 And being found in appearance as a man,

he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!

¿ Am I imitating Jesus in having a servant attitude or does my heart react with

indifference to the need around me?
3.- Jesus' priority (being a King) was not to seek his own benefit
but to serve others.

Matthew 20:28: The Son of Man came did not to be served, but
to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.

Note: a few days ago I was seeing children singing a song that
said, "It is better to give than to receive. Daniel and Joseph.

Question: Mathematically, How many times do we open our Lips to ask

someone for something and how many times to offer help to someone?
Let's have a Servant Attitude.

We who are Sons, let us offer help to our

parents at home and do not demand that they
serve us..

- Christian Brothers and Sisters, let us offer help

in the Church, to the Pastor, to our brother and
to our neighbors, so they can see Christ through
us.
Success and greatness from the point of view of Jesus

It is inevitable that our human nature is always desiring success and

recognition before society, even within the Christian brothers we
sometimes wonder who is the most important, the disciples also asked
the following question:

Who is the Greatest? (Mark 9: 33-35)

33 And he came to Capernaum; and when he was in the house, he

asked them, "What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?
34 But they held their peace; for on the way they had disputed among
themselves, who should be the greatest.
35 And he sat down, and called the twelve, and said unto them, If any
man will be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.
4.- Jesus was interested in improving people's quality of life (He
healed all sickness and pain of the people)

Mattew 9:35

 35 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their
synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every
disease and sickness

Note 1: There are many people who live without hope and who wish to die, but Jesus is
the living hope and we must share that news with the one who lives immersed in a life
without hope. All people have problems in life but the difference is that with Christ we
have hope for a better future.

Note 2: God is the same yesterday and today and his power is the same. If only we
could believe and have faith like a mustard seed we would see the glory of God. If you
are healthy use your body to serve the Lord and if you are sick ask health to serve the
Lord.
Example of Peter's mother-in-law

Mattew 8:14- 15

 14 Jesus came to Peter's house, and saw Peter's mother-in-law lying in

bed with a fever.

 15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; and she arose, and
ministered unto them.

After being healed, Peter's mother-in-law

immediately began to serve.
Do you have a disease that wishes to be healed? Ask
the Lord Jesus with faith in your heart.

Are you willing to give your life to Jesus to serve Him

even if you are sick and suffering?
5.- Jesus had compassion on underprivileged people who live
without purpose in life.
 The original Greek version says that Jesus was moved to compassion, it is not enough
to feel compassion, we must be moved, this implies change of physical position,
move from place, bow and go where live the helpless who live without purpose in
life.
 Outside in both Yerevan and Armenia and Central Asia there are many who wander
like sheep without a shepherd, but they do not know that Jesus is the good shepherd
who wishes to embrace them in his fold.

 John 10: 14-16

14 I am the good shepherd; and I know my sheep, and mine own know me,
15 As the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the
sheep.
16 Also I have other sheep that are not of this fold; those also I must bring, and they
shall hear my voice; and there shall be one flock, and one shepherd.
John 10:16
16 Also I have other sheep that are not of this fold; those also I must bring
6.- Jesus declares that the harvest is plentiful and the workers
are few.

Every Christian who defines himself as a Christian must be a

servant and if our life is only being used for our own interests
then we are not worthy to be called followers of Jesus.

Note: The task of the great commission is great, and workers

are needed with and without experience, requirement to
have a servant's heart.

1Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priest, a holy
nation, a peculiar people, that ye should shew forth the praises of him
that hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light;
7.- Are you willing to work serving the Lord?

- In my country, Christians in Chile and Latin America are praying for the Kingdom
of God to spread to regions of Central Asia where the love of Jesus does not rule
in people's hearts.

- Last month in June, we went with my wife to explore opportunities to serve Christ
in places where there is no Christian presence, no Bibles available to everyone,
where enough churches in every city.

- God needs followers of Jesus to go and announce the love of Christ in Central
Asia where Russian is spoken as a second language, such as Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan. Perhaps you can offer your ability with the Russian
language to go and announce the virtues of Jesus in these lands.
- You have love for give another people Please, we work so that the love of Jesus is
known in other nations
Remember 7 Key Point

Finishing
 Let us follow the model of Jesus to serve in his Kingdom of
Love.
 No one lives for himself, nor do trees live for himself, but they
live to give oxygen and shade to others.
 If you had a glass of refreshing water you would share it with
the one who is thirsty, True?
 So also you and I have a Treasure that is the Love of Jesus to
give salvation to other people and we should share Christ and
not keep it for ourselves.
 Let us ask the Holy Spirit to make us sensitive to His voice to
serve where Christ does not rule as Lord.
 One day you and I will be before God in heaven worshipping
Him eternally. Singing glory, glory, glory
