Unit Plan - Form Ones Term Two

Rationale for Mathematics

Students will be able to think creatively, critically and logically. They
will be able to plan, examine and make hypothesis and determine
levels of accuracy. The attainment of this knowledge, skills and
understandings is essential for success in further studies in
mathematics.

Rationale for Measurement

Measurement gives students the chance to develop their reasoning
and problem solving skills and social skills and use practical
knowledge of measurement to better understand the environment.
This unit encourages student centred teaching by means of co-
operative learning methods as well as a constructivist approach to
teaching.

Aim
This Measurement unit is designed to develop aesthetic expression,
citizenship, communication, problem solving, personal development
and to some extent technological competence.
