EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP

Taking students on an educational field trip makes learning more effective as they will
be able to gain vast ideas on the topic. Motivate students through increased interest and curiosity.
It can add variety to the regular classroom instructional program and they tend to be special and
enjoyable learning experiences. As a result, students will develop positive attitudes towards
related classroom activities. Field trip provide an opportunity to involve students and the teachers
in the instructional program.

If you are going on an educational field trip, it is important to prepare your students by
developing their visual literacy and by integrating the trip actively into you class. Students can
select the place to be visited, developing questions to ask, writing reports or thank you letters
after the trip or evaluating the experiences. Since parents must give their permission, a parents’
consent. Interaction between students within themselves will increased when they work in
groups. Moreover, the interaction between the students and teachers will enhance as the students
will have to discuss to the teachers when they have doubts.

Educational field trip, it gives students experiential learning. It involves a real world
experience that makes learning more meaningful and memorable. As a result the student will
have more concept of the topic as they have learn through their hands-on experience.

For example, a Field trip on Museum. The students are energized by the excitement and
anticipation of leaving the school environment. The transportation to and from the museum is
often a pleasant open-social time. Students have the opportunity to determine what they learn
and how they learn it. Student learning can be interest-driven, not teacher and curriculum driven.
They experience a more holistic, integrated picture of the information that in the classroom may
have only been presented in a textual and abstract way. Museums are designed to stimulate
curiosity and actively engage the visitor so you have a very professional partner working with
you to help your students learn. Sometimes some Moseums are strict so you as teacher need to
arrange your students to meet with a museum educator, often in a private room to fascilitate
directed and provide a question-answer session. And at the end of that Museum field trip, the
students will be able to narrate what were happen during their trips. Every students have their
own reflections to share.
