SUBJECT: BLOWER TRANSITION DUCT STRUCTURE CRACKING
PURPOSE: To introduce flexible transition duct kits to the field.
APPLICATION: Komatsu Electric Drive Dump Trucks:
930E-3SE: A30318 & Up;
930E-4SE: A30587 - A31167;
960E-1: A30003 - A30026;
960E-2: A30027 - A30030
FAILURE CODE: 0911HA
DESCRIPTION: Flexible Transition Duct Kits (XK1207), (XK1265) and (58B0000100)

Over time, blower transition duct (1, Figure

1) may develop cracks along the seams due
to vibrations from the main alternator. A new
duct structure with a flexible transition has
been designed to absorb vibrations from the
main alternator, thus lessening the chances of
cracking.

If any cracks are found in the existing blower

transition duct, replace it with the
appropriate Flexible Transition Duct Kit:
• XK1207 for the 930E-4SE truck model
• XK1265 for the 930E-3SE truck model
• 58B0000100 for the 960E-1 truck model

The new duct structure, flexible transition,

hose, mounting hardware and instructions
are supplied in the kit. Refer to Table 1 or
Table 2 for the contents of the kits.

NOTE: During installation of this kit, strap

(2), bracket (3) and bracket (4) will not be
needed with the new hose. Discard these

NOTE: Handle flexible duct (1, Figure 2) carefully. The flexible duct is made from neoprene fabric and
could be damaged by weld splatter.
