Types of Hardware Problems

The hardware in a computer is the physical and touchable components of the system.
The typical hardware components of any computer include the keyboard, mouse,
speakers, RAM, cords and anything else in the computer that the owner can touch. It
differs from software -- the programs installed on the hardware. Hardware problems are
common with a wide range of computers because any broken piece, damaged area or
minor annoyance with the hardware affects the entire computer.
Overheating.
Perhaps most importantly one of the factors that shorten the life of computers is the warm-up
problem. Cheap and unconsciously selected computer cases, cooling elements that are not installed
according to the rules and overloading of computers is associated with warming that may lead to
temporary or permanent damage.
Viruses and other malicious programs.
Viruses are a nuisance, whether they damage or slow Internet connections or as a simple example
‘Spam’ can in fact cause irreparable damage to computers deleting data that cannot again be
restored.
Keyboard Problems

The keyboard is a vital part of any computer. It not only allows typing, but it also gives
commands as well. Common potential problems with the keyboard include stuck keys, broken
keyboards, keyboards that will not connect to the computer or keyboards where the letters end
up jumbled. Fixing the keyboard problems will depend on the problem. For desktop computers,
the best action is often purchasing a new keyboard. For a laptop, options include purchasing a
new keyboard, sending the laptop for repairs or pressing a stuck key a few times until it
becomes unstuck.

Mouse Problems

The mouse is used for a variety of purposes, such as playing games or opening files. While it is
possible to control a computer with the keyboard, it is difficult and troublesome as well. The
most common problems related to the mouse include freezing on the screen, connection
problems, failure to move or damage to the mouse. The brand and type of mouse will
determine the best troubleshooting options. For example, a wireless mouse that freezes might
need a battery change, while a wired mouse that freezes will need repairs or replacement.

Motherboard Problems

The motherboard contains several parts of the computer including the RAM, BIOS
system, mass storage and CPU. The computer motherboard contains several devices,
which can create numerous potential problems. Problems with the motherboard range
from too little RAM to BIOS problems. Fixing the problems will depend on the specific
problem and, in the worst case scenario, purchasing a new motherboard will fix the
problems.
