Task Guidelines

1. Enter the Google spreadsheet. Pl ease do not rearrange the columns of this
spreadsheet.

2. Select a company off the list. Browse its website.

Choosing a Product Image

3. The product should be on a white background, if possible. Please see the above
example.

4. If it is not possible to choose an image with a white background, please choose one
where the background is neutral and without a lot of things going on in the
background. These two images should have the same proportion, ideally 1:1 (square).
Please see the below image as an example.

5. Choose products from the same category, e.g. two hats, two pairs of jeans, two shirts,
etc. Make a note of what products you’ve chosen in the column “main product” as hats,
jeans, shirts (in plural).

6. Save these images to a place that you will remember on your PC.

7. From there, you can upload the images via Microsoft Azure to our server. You will be
given access to this program.
8. Copy the link of the first image under columns “image_url” and “product_image_url”.

9. Copy the link of the second image under “product_image_url_2”.

10. Visit the brand’s FB page using the link in the spreadsheet. Copy/paste the image url of
their profile photo under the “fblogo_url” c olumn of the spreadsheet.

Entering Details Related to the Products

11. When deciding what INDUSTRY to list the company as belonging to:
a. Sometimes it’s obvious by looking at their website
b. You could also check out their FB page and see what they wrote for themselves,
e.g. clothing/fashion/apparel, etc.
c. Usually, it's fashion, apparel, clothing, jewelry or outdoor gear.

12. When listing the MAIN PRODUCT, think of a name that applies to both product images
that you selected. For example, women’s shirts or boots.

13. Choose the frame that fits the product images best and write the name of the frame into
“CATEGORY”: Please write the category in all lowercase letters.
Crop guidelines
14. Enter the necessary value in the CROP column in CAPITAL LETTERS - UP, CENTER,
DOWN, NO. (read the explanation below)

15. If you choose a product image with a white background, there is usually no need for
cropping. In this case, you will put NO as the value.

16. If  an  image  doesn't  have  1:1  proportion,  you  should  fill  in  CROP  column  with  either  UP,
CENTER, or D OWN.

17. If the product will look good zoomed in, you can do that by putting UP, CENTER, or
DOWN as the value.

18. If our goal was to draw attention to the hairstyle, we would write UP.

19. If we wanted to draw attention to the bag, we would write CENTER.

20. If the shoes are the focus, we would write DOWN.
