LESSON PLAN IN MAPEH 8 Health

Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding human sexuality and


managing sexuality related issues for a healthy life

Performance Standard: The learner appropriately manages sexually-related issues


through responsible and informed decisions.

Learning Competencies and Codes: Identify basic terms in human sexuality ( sex,
sexuality, gender ).

Quarter: 1 Week:_______ Day: 1

I. OBJECTIVES:
At the end of 60 minutes, 100% of the learners are expected to:
identify the basic terms in human sexuality ( sexuality, sex and gender
).

II. CONTENT:
Subject Matter: Family Health
Integration: Science topic on reproductive system
Strategies: Classroom discussion, Students Pairing Activity
Materials: Reproductive Health, A&E, NFE Accreditation and
Equivalency Learning Material. DepEd, 2001.pp.4-8

1. Preliminaries (Prayer, Checking of Attendance, etc.

Activity 1: START UP ACTIVITY ( Interview )


STRATEGY: SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION

Directions: Work by pair. Do the activity below with your partner. Each pair
will ask the same question and write your answer on a 1 whole sheet of
paper. ( Interview )

Answer the following questions based on your own understanding.


1. What is sexuality?
2. What is sex?
3. What is gender?

4. What is the difference between sexuality and sex?


5. What is the difference between sex and gender?

Presentation of the Lesson


The teacher will explain to the class the significance and importance of
adolescence in relation to human sexuality.

Discussion of the main topic: Teenage Concerns


The teacher shall discuss the following:
1. Adolescence
2. Gender
3. Sexuality
4. Sex

Reflection Questions:
1. What did you feel after doing the activity?
2. What was your reaction after the question asked by your partner?
3. After knowing the changes, does it really affects your personality?

Generalization/Wrap-up
The teacher will post these questions:
*What have we learned this morning?
(The teacher should make sure that the generalization comes from the students.
They must be able to give the generalization before he/she moves to the
evaluation phase)

IV. EVALUATION

The teacher will rate the learner’s activity using the rubrics below.
Rubrics:
Excellent All members contributed equally, report was presented in an 10
orderly manner, the group explained the topics thoroughly,
the student did not display disruptive behavior during group
activities.
Good Most members contributed, report was presented in almost 8
orderly manner, the group explained the topics well, the
students rarely display disrupted behavior during group
activities.
Fair Members occasionally help to complete group’s goals, report 7
was presented in a somewhat orderly manner, the group
missed some topics to explain, the students occasionally
display disruptive behavior during group activities.

V. Assignment/Enrichment
The teacher will instruct the learners to do research for the next topic in
sexuality
an important component of one’s personality.
