19. Vidya Bhusan from Mandar Vidya Pith, Bhagalpur (Legal Education Committee meeting 24/25-2-1979)

The Committee after going through the Secretary’s notes and the relevant papers in the file, decided to recommend the recognition
of the Vidya Bhushan of Mandar Vidya Pith, Bhagalpur, Bihar as minimum qualification for admission to three year law course.

RESOLVED that the Bachelor of Architecture Degree awarded by universities be and is hereby recognized as equivalent to
graduation for the purpose of admission to the three year LL.B. course.

26. Associate Membership Examination Part III, Section A & B of Aeronautical Society
(Council approved the recommendation of the Legal Education Committee in its meeting dated 21.1.1984)

The Committee is of the opinion that his overall qualifications be considered sufficient to be equivalent to graduation and accordingly
the Committee recommends to the Council.

27. M. A. Degree through the Open University Scheme of Mysore University.

The Committee is of the view that the M. A. Degree obtained through Open University System of the Mysore University be
recognized as a sufficient qualification for admission in the three year law course. (Legal Education Committee meeting dated 22.1.1982 and
approved by the Bar Council of India on 24.1.1982.)

RESOLUTION NO. 2/1982

RESOLVED that B. V. Sc. & A. H. comes within the purview of Rule 1(1) (a) in Part IV of the Bar Council of India and therefore a
person holding the said degree is eligible for admission in the three year course.

29. Bachelor of Social work of Bombay University


RESOLUTION NO. 2/1987(LE)

RESOLVED that the degree of Bachelor of Social work of Bombay University be and is recognized as equivalent to Bachelor’s degree
for the purpose of admission to three year law course. (Approved by the Council).

RESOLVED that the Bachelor of Business Management of Mysore University be recognized as equivalent to graduation for the purpose of
admission to three year law course.

31. Diploma in Architecture awarded by Directorate of Arts, Govt of Maharashtra


RESOLUTION NO. 34/1989

RESOLVED that the Diploma in Architecture awarded by the Directorate of Arts, Government of Maharashtra be treated as
equivalent to B. A. Degree for the purpose of admission to the three year law course.

32. Certificate of Competency as Master of Foreign Going Ships awarded by the Govt. of India

33. G. C. E. H. Awarded by the Government of Karnataka in Homeopathy.


RESOLUTION NO. 16/1990

RESOLVED that the recommendations of the Legal Education Committee be accepted and the G. C. E. H. (Graduate of the Court of
Examiners in Homeopathy) qualification awarded by the Govt. of Karnataka be recognized by the Bar Council of India as equivalent to
graduation for admission to the three year law course.

34. Degree awarded by the University imparting Legal Education at the end of three year of the five year law course sufficient
qualification for admission in the 1st year of the three year law course.
RESOLUTION NO. 19/1990

RESOLVED that if a student has completed three years of study and passed the relative examinations in the five year law degree
course, he/she shall be eligible for admission to the 1st year of the three year law course.

35. Bachelor of Fine Arts of Bombay University


RESOLUTION NO. 141/1990

RESOLVED that B. F. A (Bachelor of Fine Arts) painting awarded by Bombay University be and is hereby recognized as equivalent to
graduation for the purpose of admission in the three year law course.

36. Qualification from Catholic Training College for Social Work, Matternich, Germany.
(Recommendations of the Legal Education Committee meeting dated 20th August, 1993 approved by the Bar Council of India at its meeting
dated 21st & 22nd August, 1993).

This matter was previously considered by the Legal Education Committee in its meeting held on 30th October, 1992 and at
that time Committee decided that this matter be sent to the Association of Indian Universities to find out whether Ms. Theresia parekadan is
eligible for enrolment as an advocate who has obtained her LL.B. degree from NAgpur University for which she obtained admission on the
strength of passing the final examination of Catholic Training College for Social work, Matternich, Germany. The Association of Indian
Universities gave its opinion that the same is recognized programmed and therefore be accepted. Accordingly, Legal Education Committee
recommends to the Bar Council of India that qualification obtained by Ms. Theresia be accepted.

37. M. A. Degree from Bayero University, Kano.


(Recommendations of the Legal Education Committee meeting dated 20th August, 1993 approved by the Bar council of India at its meeting
dated 21st & 22nd August, 1993.)

This matter was sent to Association of Indian Universities to find out whether a person who has obtained LL.B Degree from Bombay
University on the basis of M. A. Degree from Bayero University, Kano is eligible for enrolment as an advocate or not. The Association of
Indian University gave its opinion that the same be accepted.

The views received from the Association of Indian Universities were considered by the Legal Education Committee and it
recommended to the Bar Council of India that the same be accepted.

38. Bachelor in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (B. H. M. S)


(Recommendations of the Legal Education Committee meeting dated 8th July, 1994 approved by the Bar Council of India at its meeting
dated 9th & 10th July, 1994)

RESOLVED that if B. H. M. S. (Bachelor in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) degree is recognized by the UGC and the University
concerned as equivalent to graduation, it is also recognized by the Bar Council of India for the purpose of seeking admission in law course.

39. Certificate issued by the Institute of Telecommunication Engineers, New Delhi as equivalent to graduation.
(Recommendations of the Legal Education Committee meeting dated 8th July, 1994 approved by the Bar Council of India at its meeting
dated 9th & 10th July, 1994.)

RESOLVED that since the certificate issued by the Institute of Telecommunication is recognized by the Govt. of India for the purpose
employment, the students passing the said course are also entitled to be admitted in the LL.B. professional course.

40. B. A. Degree of Shri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning


(Deemed university) (February, 2004 LE. Mtg) (Item No. 8/2004)

Legal Education Committee considered the above mentioned latter received from the Registrar, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher
Learning (Deemed University) regarding recognition of its B. A. Degree as equivalent to graduate degree for the purpose of admission to
LL.B. course. After consideration Committee is of the view that the said University has been declared as Deemed University and also
recognized by UGC u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956, the said degree would be treated to be equivalent to the graduate degree for the purpose of
admission to the LL.B. course.

41. B. Sc. Degree of Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar, U.P.


(Item No. 84/2003(LE) (Feb. 2004 LE)

Legal Education Committee considered the letter received from Mr. Neeraj Panchal requesting the Council to recognize B.Sc Degree
of Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar as equivalent to graduation for the purpose of taking admission in the LL.B course. This
Committee recommends recognition of the said degree as the same is approved by the UGC and the Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya,
Haridwar is recognized as a deemed university u/s 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 Vishwavidyalaya.

42. Shastri Degree offered by Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapith, New Delhi (Deemed University) (Item No.
55/2003(LE) (Legal Education Committee meeting 6th and 7th November, 2004)

In continuation of the decision taken by the Legal Education Committee at its meeting held on 20th / 21st February, 2004, Shri Lal
Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Kothwaria Sarai, New Delhi by its letter dated 4.11.2004 has stated that it has been granted
approval by the University Grants Commission as Deemed University and its B. A. Degree is recognized by University Grants Commission
and is recorded on page 1060 of the Universities Handbook 2002 and also the clarification given by the Association of Indian Universities,
Council is of the view that Shastri Degree offered by Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapith, New Delhi be treated as
equivalent to graduate degree for the purpose of admission to LL.B course.

43. AMIE Degree (July, 2003 Legal Education Committee meeting) (Item No. 17/2003(LE))

Legal Education Committee considered the recognition of AMIE as sufficient qualification for taking admission in 3 year LL.B. course.
After consideration Committee is of the view that AMIE may be considered as sufficient qualification equivalent to graduation for taking
admission in the three year law course.

Diploma and other qualifications recognized by the Bar Council of India as equivalent to +2 under rule 1 in part IV
of the rules of the Bar Council of India

1. Qualifications for admission in 10+2 (D.Ed.Diploma & Corporal Test in I. A. F.)


RESOLUTION NO. 5/1988

RESOLVED that the reports submitted by Mr. D. V. Patil be accepted and D. Ed. Diploma and the Test for the post of Corporal in the
I. A. F. be treated as equivalent to 10+2 schooling so as to enable the students passing D. Ed. Diploma and Corporal Test in the I. A. F. as
qualifications for entry in the new five year law course.

2. Diploma in Commercial Pratice Awarded by T. N. Govt.


RESOLUTION NO. 4/1989(LE)

RESOLVED that it be recommended to the Bar Council of India that the Diploma in Commercial Practice awarded by the Department
of Technical Education, Guindy, Madras be treated as sufficient qualification for admission in the 1st year of the five year law course.

3. 10+2 Vocational Course


RESOLUTION NO. 17/1990

RESOLVED that 10+2 (Vocational Course) conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination, Department of Govt.
Examinations, Tamil Nadu be treated as sufficient qualification for admission in the five year law course.

4. Pre-University after 10th Standard of Job Oriented Diploma course of Karnataka Govt.
RESOLUTION NO. 18/1990

RESOLVED that a two year pre-University (Vocational Course) after 10th standard which is job oriented diploma course by the
Department of Vocational Education, Karnataka be recognized as sufficient qualification for admission in the five year law course.

5. Qualification Obtained from Educational Department in Iran as equivalent to 10+2 (Proceedings of the Legal Education
Committee dated 4th October, 1991 under Item. No. 43/1990)

The Legal Education Committee considered the letter dated 8-11-1990 received from Lecturer–in-Charge, North Bengal University Law
College, Rajarammohanpur. This matter was considered earlier also by the Legal Education Committee meeting held on 15th February, 1991
and was of the view that the matter regarding equivalence of 10+2 examination of this University and the reciprocity in this matter may be
referred to the Chairman, Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi along with all the papers with a request that he may kindly
examine the matter and let us know whether this examination is equivalent to 10+2 schooling or not. Accordingly a letter was addressed to
the Chairman, CBSE and he informs us that 4th year Diploma of the Secondary Schools(12 year course offered under the new pattern of
school education) awarded by the Ministry of Education, Iran is considered equivalent to the +2 i.e Sr. School certificate examination of
CBSE by the Association of India universities, ASSOCIATION OF INDIAN UNIVERSITIES House, Kotla Road, New Delhi. Hence the Legal
Education Committee decided that in view of the report of the Chairman CBSE the 4th year Diploma of Secondary Schools education)
awarded by the Ministry of Education, Iran is considered equivalent to the +2 i.e Senior School Certificate Examination of CBSE by the
Association of Indian Universities, ASSOCIATION OF INDIAN UNIVERSITIES House, Kotla Road, New Delhi for the purpose of seeking
admission in 5 year LL. B. Course.
