RADIO CAMPAIGN DESIGN
Target Messages:
Agriculture sector contributes 20% in GDP, which means if Pakistan handles its
agricultural department in a better way i.e. by new technologies then not only
economy will be improved but also chances of employment will be increased.
Communication Strategy:
The duration of programme can be one hour so that it can be a detailed and
comprehensive session of awareness among masses specially farmers about new
agricultural techniques. In general, the 2.5 MHz signal works best for locations within
a few hundred miles of the broadcast sites. The 15 and 20 MHz frequencies often
work best during the daytime hours. The 5 and 10 MHz frequencies are probably the
best signals to continually receive, and also the best signals to receive at night. The 5,
10 and 15 MHz transmissions are broadcast at a higher power than the other
frequencies. Hence announcements can be made during any suitable range.
Programme Nature:
The campaign can be conducted in a form talk show or request show. In talk shows
the host discusses the events and a guest can be invited. These are highly relevant and
there are numerous possibilities to explore. Request shows are best way to connect
with the audience and making them feel they are part of it. Here audience can
question and provide with their opinions.
Sequence of program:
The format of campaign will be designed as follows:
The topic can be hosted by one or more hosts who will be discussing the issue.
There can be a guest who can give his opinion and participate in discussion.
Listeners can take part in live discussion by telephone call.
Generally, the shows are organized into segments, each separated by a pause for
advertisements; however, in public or non-commercial radio, music is sometimes
played in place of commercials to separate the program segments.
