CHAPTER 1

INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background of the paper

A tool is a collection of objects used to repair an object. mechanical engineering

equipment is almost always available on a daily basis. We go always using the vehicle. The
vehicle, if damaged, is repaired using spare parts. The spare parts are made in large factories
using mechanical engineering equipment. For that we need to know what equipment is
needed in mechanical engineering.

CHAPTER II
THEORY AND DISCUSION

2.1. Students know understanding of tools

Tools are objects used for someone to modify the features of the surrounding environment.
Tools or equipment is a very important component in making an object or goods. If one of the tools is
damaged or even lost, the manufacturing process will be hampered so that the results will not be
perfect and may not be finished.

2.2. Students know the type of tools

Cutting Tools

Cutters, scissors and a hacksaw.

You can use the hacksaw when the box cutter fails to do its job, otherwise, I would
just keep the hacksaw in a safe place away from humans as it can be a hazard if not stored
properly.

Grabbing and Clamping Tools

Pliers, Bench vice, Holdling clam

I would suggest you curate a set of different pliers, such as needle-nosed, the kind that cut,
as well as the flat stubbed ones. They are some of the most multipurpose and helpful mechanical tools
ever. Apart from the pliers if you have one c-clamp like holding device. You can always go to the
local hardware store if you need one.

Measuring Tools

Tape Measures and Rulers

This is a very important category, you should ensure that you have at least one
proper ruler with visible markings and if possible, get your hands on one of those cool
retractable measuring tapes that you see in the hands of your interior decorator every now and
then.

Writing Tools

Pen, Pencil, Sharpie, Eraser.

Obviously, no justification required for these. Get yourself a pen, pencil, sharpie, or
whatever you fancy and stick it behind your ear unless you want to lose it!

Hammers and Mallets

Hammer, and Mallets

Every now and then you might need to scavenge for parts from waste material and break
some parts off. This is when hammers and mallets will come handy.

Screwdrivers and Fasteners

Screwdrivers (plus and minus) and fasteners

Of course, you will need a good collection of screwdrivers so that you can open all
the screws you can find around your house. Household E-waste is extremely useful, learn to
hoard it and harvest it for free motors, power electronics, and other such things.

Also, try to curate an assortment of nuts and bolts from all these things that you
unscrew. They can be extremely helpful at times.

Zip Ties and Duct Tape

Zip Ties and Duct Tape

Notice how I haven't grouped these two in with the other items? That's because they
are the Gods of hacks and I literally worship these two things. Zip ties and duct tape can
literally be used anywhere to fasten and or hold things together temporarily or permanently.
You never have to worry about things falling apart if you have zip tied or duct taped them
together. These are fool proof methods of putting things together.

Power Tools

Drill, Hand Cutter, Dremel

These are mechanical tools such as drills, hand cutters, and dremels. They are rarely
required and can always be borrowed from your local mechanic. This approach saves you a
lot of money as well as space.

2.4. Students know the application of tools

Cutting Tools

Cutters, scissors to cut soft objects like paper, silicon, etc.

Hacksaw to cut hard objects like pipe, iron, etc

Grabbing and Clamping Tools

Pliers are made in various shapes and sizes and for many uses. Some are used for gripping
something round like a pipe or rod, some are used for twisting wires, and others are designed
to be used for a combination of tasks including cutting wire. There are also tools that are used
just for cutting wires (as opposed to wire cable and rope). Use the correct pliers or wire
cutters for the job.

Measuring Tools
The Uses of Measuring Tools 1. Measurement of Length - Length is the distance between 2
points - SI unit for length is metre - in metric system, the units used to measure length are
millimeter (mm), centimeter (cm) and kilometer (km). - relationship between units of length
1 cm = 10 mm 1 m = 100 cm 1 km = 1000 m i. Measurement of straight line.

Writing Tools
The Uses of Writing is to mark an object to be cut.

Hammers and Mallets

The use of hammers is to put large pressure on a small scale. Usually used to form hard
objects and insert nails into the object

Screwdrivers
Screwdriver usually hand-operated, for turning screws with slotted heads. For screws with
one straight diametral slot cut across the head, standard screwdrivers with flat blade tips and
in a variety of sizes are used. Special screws with cross-shaped slots in their heads require a
special screwdriver with a blade tip that fits the slots.

The screwdriver shank is made of tough steel, and the tip is hardened to minimize wear. The
handle is made of wood, metal, or plastic.

If a screw cannot be reached with a straight-shank screwdriver, an offset screwdriver is used;

this tool has no handle but has a shank with a right-angle bend at both ends. One blade tip is
in line with the shank, and the other is at right angles to the shank.

Screwdriver bits can be clamped in a brace, an automatic handle that rotates on being pushed
toward the screwhead, or a gear reduction drive in a power, drill.

Zip Ties and Duct Tape

Duct tape is a cloth tape coated with a poly-ethylene resin on one side and very sticky rubber-
based adhesive on the other. Unlike other tapes, the fabric backing gives duct tape strength
yet allows it to be easily torn. Duct tape is also very malleable and can adhere to a wide
variety of surfaces. While it was primarily designed for use in air ducts and similar
applications, consumers have found a broad range of uses for this popular product. It can be
used for a number of household repair jobs, as a fastener instead of screws or nails, and in car
maintenance. Snowmobilers have even been known to apply duct tape to their noses to thwart
frost-bite and sunburn. The product has generated so much interest, that there are books and
web sites dedicated to its unconventional, and often comical, uses. For example, The Duct
Tape Book describes how to use duct tape to make aprons and trampoline covers.

Power Tools

Drill press, also called Drilling Machine, device for producing holes in hard substances. The
drill is held in a rotating spindle and is fed into the workpiece, which is usually clamped in a
vise resting on a table. The drill may be gripped in a chuck with three jaws that move radially
in unison, or it may have a tapered shank that fits into a tapered hole in the spindle. Means
are always provided for varying the spindle speed and on some machines for automatically
feeding the drill into the workpiece.Drill presses for occasional use in general-purpose
machine shops usually have only one spindle. For drilling several holes successively or
simultaneously in a workpiece, machines with multiple spindles are available. When large
quantities of identical mechanical components are required, special-purpose drilling
machines, with spindles arranged in a variety of positions relative to the workpiece, can be
constructed. Although drill presses are used mainly for drilling holes, they can also be used
for enlarging holes with a boring tool or finishing holes with a reamer. With the aid of a
special tapping attachment and a tap, they can produce threads in a hole. See also boring
machine.

CHAPTER III
CONCLUSION
3.1. Conclusion
Each equipment that has been described, has a certain function, size and type. And
everything serves to help and facilitate work. The equipment continues to develop according
to needs.

3.2. Suggest
Suggest We are as the writer want to apology for the shortage of this paper. We know
that this paper is still far from perfect. So that we need the suggest from the reader for the
perfection of this paper. Thank you very much for the read.
