Bible Memory Verse

Efesios 4:29, 32
“Eviten toda conversación obscena. Por el contrario, que sus palabras
contribuyan a la necesaria idificación y sean de bendición para quienes
eschuchan; Más bien, sean bondadosos y compasivos unos con otros, y
perdónense mutuamente, así como Dios los perdonó a ustedes en Cristo.

Biblia
The Book of Ephesians was most likely written by Paul while he was imprisoned
in Rome around A.D. 60. This letter was probably intended to be read not only
by the church at Ephesus but also by the smaller churches nearby. At the time
the letter was written, the city of Ephesus was well-known for its great
temple to Artemis, which was one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
The city was also popular as a center of travel and commerce. It was located
near the Aegean Sea in what is now Turkey. The Turkish name for the city is
Efes. Ephesus is mentioned throughout Acts 18–20. Later the first Book of
Timothy was also sent to Ephesus, where Timothy was the young pastor.
Ephesus was also the first church to be addressed in the Book of Revelation.
The people were commended for their hard work and perseverance,
especially in the area of testing false apostles; however, they were warned
to return to their first love, which they had forsaken.

Class Dojo
In Third Grade we will be using Class Dojo as our behavior management
system. I believe Mrs. Van Der Zee will be using it as well. So, you will be
receiving 2 entry codes to begin sharing. Class Dojo is an online behavior and
communication tool that we will be using throughout the school year. There is
an app you can download onto a phone or tablet.

Each student will have his own account, and they can log in as a student (and
you as a parent). The students will be able to create their own dojo monster.
As a teacher, I can see all of the student’s monsters and give them positive
points. I use this when I see a student helping others, making good choices, or
being an excellent example to their classmates.

I also can give negative points (which is rare). These can serve as a reminder
to stay on task, work hard and be kind to others. If a student gets 3 negative
points, they will be staying in for a few minutes with me during recess so we
can discuss how to improve their behavior. If a student receives 4 negative
points throughout the day, I will be contacting his or her parents so we can
come up with a plan to get back on track. It is my hope that with this class
dojo system, we can try to encourage the positive behaviors seen throughout
the day. Each child’s goal will be to earn 5 points per week to start and as the
school year progresses we will raise the goal to 10 points per week.

Birthdays
You may send treats with your child or bring them to class, just please let me
know ahead of time so, I can plan accordingly.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I covet your support and prayers as we begin a new School Year together.

In His Service,

Maestra Boer 
