Figure 27. System Block Diagram

Argus OXM C is oxygen saturation measuring device which can measure oxygen saturation
and pulse rate non- invasively for adult/ infant and newborn baby. Microprocessor is
mounted to monitor and display vital signs which are measured additionally.
If the measurements are over the limit value set, it generates visual and sound alarm.
For reasonable and correct measurement, it detects the status of the equipment and
displays error code on the screen.
Measured data and error code can be stored and seen again.

Argus OXM C is operated by battery power. It is designed to charge the battery connecting
DC power.

- 41 - Argus OXM C Service Manual

System description
Input power
HP- 110 system is designed separately with module operation power and digital circuit
operation power. The power of the part to be contacted with the patients is designed
separately. If power supply of the system is unstable measured vital signs may have error and
it may cause severe problem on the trust of the equipment. To prevent this, a function to
monitor the system power is mounted from system designing stage. The device should be
able to be operated with portable battery and it should be operated at lest for 3 hours. It
should be designed to be operated with inner battery at least one month after shutting down

Battery charge
Battery will be charged immediately after connecting DC adaptor as Argus OXM C has
internal battery charging circuit. Battery is fully charged in approximately 120 minutes.
Charging is stopped if battery is fully charged or charging time is over. If connecting DC
power after disconnecting, charging will be started again. During charging, the equipment
operates with power of DC adapter.

Battery
Argus OXM C uses Li- ion battery. Battery has a capacity to use the equipment for 5 hours
with no alarm condition by 7.4V/ 1.8A. It will take about 200 minutes to charge a discharged
battery fully.

MCU
By using Micro- controller, Argus OXM C manages all operation of the equipment such as
LCD Driver, Sound and Key. Also, it checks the condition of the power and system, and
notifies the user alarm and error code when problem occurs.

Key
By using 6 Keys, user can operate the function easily such as system and alarm limit
setting, data display, display mode setting and alarm stop. You can turn On/ Off the
equipment by using power switch.

Display
Argus OXM C has 3.5” TFT Color LCD. It makes you check system status with eye such as
measures, current time and battery charge status. Also it displays the equipment or
measurement through error code.

Sound
Sound
It notifies the user of current status by generating alarm or pulse sound, Key sound,
measurement completion sound and power On/ Off sound through a speaker.
