1. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards/ Focus Application of Scientific Ways of Thinking in Daily Life
B. Performance Standards/ Apply scientific thinking in daily life situations.
Terminal Objectives
C. Learning Competencies/ Relate the structure of the reproductive system to its functions, e.g.,
Enabling Objectives male reproductive system: prostate gland, testicles, scrotum, penis, vas deferens, sperm,
urethra
female reproductive system: ovaries, egg cells, fallopian tubes, uterus or womb, vagina
and clitoris
LS2SC-AS-PSBBL/LE/AE/LS/AS14.1
D. Learning Objectives  Study the structure of the male reproductive system/female reproductive system.
 Relate their structures to their function in reproduction.
II. CONTENT Human Reproduction

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Review How many system of the body did you know? What are they?
B. Springboard/ Motivation Venn Diagram
Ask their opinion about the differences and similarities between boys and girls.
C. Activity GROUP ACTIVITY
Study the diagrams below. Identify if it belongs to a boy or a girl.
Label the diagram as the Male Reproductive System or the Female Reproductive System.
Gentlemen’s Group
Study the description of each part then use this to identify the numbered part in the diagram.

Diagram A is _____________________________

PART DESCRIPTION
Testis Sex glands located in the scrotum. They
form sperms and the hormone testosterone.
Scrotum Supports the testes in place.
Epididymis Found at the top of each testis; sperms are
stored in this duct.
Urethra An opening for sperm and urine passage
Vas deferens An excretory duct of the testis
Penis The external genital organ.
Ladies Group

Diagram B is _______________________________
Study the description of each part then use this to identify the numbered part in the diagram.
PART DESCRIPTION
Ovaries Sex glands located in the pelvis. They form
the ova, the sex cells of the females.
Fallopian tubes Ducts where fertilization takes place.
Uterus Muscular organ about a size of a clenched
fist where a baby develops.
Cervix The neck of the uterus.
Vagina The birth canal.
D. Analysis Presentation of the group work.
Compare the Male Reproductive System from the Female Reproductive System.
 Are the reproductive systems of male and female similar in structure?
 How does their reproductive system differ?
E. Discussing new concepts and  What are the main parts of the male reproductive system?
practicing new skills ( SA # 1)  Why the testis / gonad is are considered the primary reproductive organ?
 How are the sperm cells deposited in the female’s body?
 What are the main parts of the female reproductive system?
 Which part produces the egg cell?
 Which serve as passage of the egg cell to the uterus?
 Where do the sperm cell and egg cell meet?
 In which part of the female reproductive system does the fertilized egg develops?
 Which part is the passage way of the baby to the outside world?
F. Discussing new concepts and Video presentation about Reproduction.
practicing new skills (SA# 2)  What are sex cells and on what part of the male and female organ are they
produced?
 How are the sperm cells transported from the male reproductive system to the female
reproductive system?
 What do we call on the process wherein an egg cell and a sperm cell unite?
 What happened to the fertilized egg? How?
 What are the roles of the men in the process of reproduction? How about the
women?
G. Abstraction  What are the different parts of our reproductive system and its function?
H. Application: Provide the function of the different parts of the male and female reproductive system.
