3.02 HVAC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

A. General

1. Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning System shall be provided to
maintain the desired indoor temperature and environmental condition for

efficient equipment operation. HVAC System shall conform to the applicable
requirements of SEC Std. TES-P-119.19.

2. All units shall be mounted on the reinforced concrete pads with the necessary
vibration isolators.

3. Air distribution (supply and return) system shall be through factory insulated
double skinned spiral duct for indoor exposed ductwork, and externally
insulated factory made rectangular duct for covered and outdoor ductwork.
Airflow direction shall be marked-up on outdoor ducts for easy identification.
Exposed duct insulation shall be protected from all weather conditions and
provided with aluminum cladding that is resistant to ultraviolet radiation.

4. All fresh air make-up shall be through sand trap louver with air filtration,
volume control damper and removable 13mm wire mesh screen. Inertial Air
Filter with dedicated bleed fans is specified in area where high percentage of
sand or impurities is available in the air whole year round.

5. High building temperature alarm indication shall be provided for each HVAC
system to SCADA alarm.

6. Controls shall be Direct Digital Control (DDC). Interlock controls shall be


provided with SCADA and FACP to remotely monitor status of the HVAC
System, modification of set points and parameters, and to trip the duty Air
Conditioning Unit in case of smokelfire detection, respectively. This control
shall have provision to management stations and/or service terminal for
future connections.

7. Minimum amount of air shall be supplied to the basement (or cable entry

3.03 HVAC Equipment and Materials

5. Chilled Water Type Air Handling Unit

Chilled Water Type Air Handling Unit shall be factory assembled consisting of

operational system. Design, construction and ratings shall be in accordance
with 73-TMSS-03.

6. Chilled Water Pumps

Pumps shall be end suction type, single stage, horizontally split casing, direct
connected and in accordance with SEC standard material specification no. 73-
TMSS-4.

7. Fresh Air Fans (Option for High Static Pressure Loss in Fresh Air Intake):

Fan housing shall be of air-tight construction with scroll panel material formed
and embedded into the side panels. The housing and bearing supports shall
be constructed of welded structural steel members to prevent vibration and
rigidly support the shaft and bearing.

The fan wheel shall be of the non-overloading backward inclined or airfoil


centrifugal type. Wheel shall be statically and dynamically balanced. The wheel
cone and fan inlet cone shall be carefully matched and shall have precise
running tolerances for maximum performance and operating efficiency. Turned,
precision ground and polished steel shaft shall be sized so the first critical
speed is at least 25% over the maximum operating speed for each pressure
class. Close tolerances shall be maintained when the shaft passes through the
bearing.

Bearing shall be heavy duty grease lubricated, self-aligning or roller pillow


block type. Bearing shall be selected for basic rating fatigue life of 80,000 hours
at maximum operating speed for each pressure class.

Bleed Air Manifold: Shall have continuous standing flange with


pre-drilled bolt holes to facilitate field connection. Manifolds shall
be sized to provide uniform airflow through each cells dust bin for
proper balance and dust removal.

Bull nose: Shall be aerodynamically formed of gage steel to


provide air entry.

Bleed Slot: Shall not be less than 16 gages steel. The bleed slot
shall be a rounded entry configuration to minimize destruction or
plugging under heavy dust concentrations.

Inlet Screen: Shall consist of 26 gages, four meshes, galvanized


hardware cloth integrally supported by a double layered 16 gage
galvanized steel frame. Inlet screen shall be bolted to the
housing.

ii Performance: Self-cleaning inertial air cleaner with a bleed rate of


11.1% of the clean airflow at ambient temperature and dust specific
gravity of 2.54 with minimum efficiency of 85% in accordance with
ASHRAE 52.1.

iii. Basic Configuration System: A small auxiliary bleed fan is the most
practical method of attaining the recommended 11.1% bleed airflow.

i. Direct Reading Dial: 90mm diameter diaphragm actuated dial in


metal case, vent valves, black figures on white background, front
recalibration adjustment, range 0-125 Pa, 2% of full scale accuracy.

ii. Accessories: Static pressure probes with integral compression


fittings, 6mm aluminum or plastic tubing, 2-way or 3-way vent valves.

10. Power Ventilators

Exhaust fans shall be centrifugal type per 73- TMSS-05 requirements, except
for the following:

a. 8attery Room Application: Consists of non-corrosive parts with explosion


proof type motor with class 8 insulation ideal for 24 hours continuous
operation. Exhaust fan shall be 8elt Drive. Up-blast type, and ducted.

C. Testing, Adjusting and Balancing

1. Submit name of Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB) agency for
approval within thirty (30) days after award of CONTRACT. Such agency

5. Provide reports in soft cover, letter size, 3-ring binder manuals, complete
with index page and indexing tabs, with cover identification at front and
side. Include set of reduced drawings with air outlets and equipment
identified to correspond with data sheets and indicating thermostat
locations.

6. The WORK shall also include the following tests: Duct Leakage, Sound test,
Vibration Tests and commissioning for fire alarm system.

7. Include detailed procedures, agenda, sample report forms prior to


commencing any test.

8. Upon completion of installation and before the system is energized or


accepted, tests shall be carried out by the CONTRACTOR to demonstrate
that each installation is functioning in accordance with the specifications.

Constructed of polyethylene and provided with insulation. The thermal


conductivity of the tank shall be 0.112 W/M-deg K. The inside surface of the
tank shall be clean, smooth, uninterrupted and free of foreign material.
Shape shall be cylindrical-horizontal type. Capacity shall be 1895 liter
(500 gallons).

Tank Nozzle and Manhole: Tank nozzles shall be provided with steel pipe
couplings, threaded steel flanges or standard pipe nipples. Manhole shall
also be provided for cleaning and maintenance. Nozzles shall be for inlet,
outlet, drain, level switch and sight glass.

7. Pump Control Panel

For Pumps control system, refer to 83- TMSS-01 items 5.3.1.a ; except that
for Outdoor Installation, Panel Classification shall be NEMA 4X.

3.06 FIRE DETECTION/ALARM. FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEMS & GASEOUS


PROTECTION SYSTEM

Provide and install a complete fire detection/alarm and fire protection systems

protected area as per Scope of work in accordance with TES-8-106.06
and NFPA 2001 Standard.

b. Design Requirements are as follows:

i. Provide adequate amount of extinguishing agent based on the


minimum design concentration of 4.2% for the protected area.
