Passing Out Ceremony of 1st batch of ePGPx of IIM Rohtak

Indian Institute of Management Rohtak hosted the passing out ceremony for the
first batch of ePGPx on 24th August 2019. Fifty-three students from the batch
completed their executive post-graduate degree on this day.

IIM Rohtak had launched a One-Year Post Graduate Programme in Management

for Executives (ePGPx) as a composite delivery mode (online/offline) program.
The focus of the programme is on general management orientation and practical
knowledge with an emphasis on inculcating exemplary leadership in challenging
managerial situations. The passing out ceremony of the first batch marks a new
milestone towards the vision of developing managers with a sense of excellence,
strong social commitment, and a passion for a value system.
Prof Dheeraj Sharma, Director, IIM Rohtak congratulated the students for their
sustained efforts and determination while going through the rigor of the course.
While addressing the students, he said that learning takes place vicariously and
continuously but "Learning has to accompany unlearning" to understand the
vantage point and to be able to take optimal decisions. He further expressed a great
sense of joy in initiating the unique ePGPx program at IIM R to retool and re-
engineer the minds, contributing towards a stronger and better economy of the
nation. He was glad to announce that IIM R has begun two batches of ePGPx per
year from now on, which will have a bigger footprint. He also emphasized on how
ePGPx program at IIM R is meant to take away the fear of developing a myopic
view as the doors of learning here are always open.
The chief guest, Dr. E S Rao, MD&CEO, IFCI Ltd, congratulated the students for
their achievement. In his address to the students, he said: "Difference in thinking is
essential at every stage while innovation and passion along with the quality of time
management are key factors contributing to the successful functioning of
business". He further elaborated upon how a person's fundamentals should be
strong enough to stand out in a dynamically changing industry while quoting his
personal experiences.

Prof. Dheeraj Sharma, Director IIM Rohtak conferred the degrees and award of
scholastic medals to the students.
In a short span of time since its inception, IIM Rohtak has taken giant leaps to
spread the reach of managerial education in the country. The students of the
institute have gone on to excel in all spheres. The college has also laid particular
emphasis on gender and academic diversity among its student population. IIM
Rohtak is now well-established and well-respected in academia and industry. It is
the top management institute in the country, is the only IIM in the Delhi-NCR
region. IIM Rohtak is a benchmark of management education in India.
