ACRYLIC THICKENER-R

Synthetic Thickener Developed for Reactive and Disperse Printing.

ACRYLIC THICKENER-R is a new generation of polymeric thickener


recommended for reactive and disperse printing on cotton and viscose,
polyester respectively.

ACRYLIC THICKENER-R can be used as a substitute to sodium alginate


or gum.

ACRYLIC THICKENER-R is a safe product as no cooking required, only


high-speed stirring / using shear mixer for 10-15 min. It is eco-friendly
product as there is no need of sodium silicate padding after printing.

Application:
1. Preparation of reactive printing paste (for Cotton & Viscose)
A typical stock paste is prepared using following chemicals

X% : Water (typically 82-88%)


(TDS to be < 500 ppm approx. or RO)
10% : Urea
2% : Na 2 Co 3
Y% : Reactive Dye
10 – 12% : Acrylic Thickener-R

2. Preparation of disperse printing paste
3. With 100% Acrylic Thickener R:
A typical stock paste is prepared using following chemicals
X% : Water (typically 82-88%)
(TDS to be < 500 ppm approx. or RO)
1%--2% : Tartaric acid/ Citric acid ( to adjust pH 4—5)
1% : Loop Accelator
Y% : Disperse Dye
8 – 10% : Acrylic Thickener-R

4. Blended with Gum ( TKP/ Guar Gum):
A typical stock paste is prepared using following chemicals
X% : Water (typically 82-88%)
(TDS to be < 500 ppm approx. or RO)
1%--2% : Tartaric acid/ Citric acid ( to adjust pH 3—4)
1% : Loop Accelerator
Y% : Disperse Dye
8 – 10% : Gum + Acrylic Thickener-R
------------ (Blending Ratio 90: 10, add thickener while
cooking)

ACRYLIC THICKENER-R consumption will vary depending upon
following factors:

 Water Quality
 Print Viscosity
 Thickener consumption may vary because of dyes and other additives
containing electrolytes.

There may be variation in the procedure for stock preparation therefore


individual mill department should optimize the sequencing and time of
stirring.

Storage:

 Do not store in direct sun or at a temperature higher than 50°C.


 Always keep the cap closed after each withdrawal of the material from
the carboy.
 Shelf life is about 6 months
