About NSC:
National Safety Council (NSC) was set up by the Ministry of Labour, Government of
India on 4th March, 1966 to generate, develop and sustain a voluntary movement on Safety,
Health and Environment (SHE) at the national level. Its mission is building capacity,
developing material, methods, procedures and strengthening the national movement
(including unorganized sector) on Safety, Health and Environment to prevent and
mitigate the loss of life, human suffering and economic losses. 
NSC provides a number of services to its members. These include organising and
conducting specialized training courses, conferences, seminars & workshops; conducting
consultancy studies such as safety audits, hazard evaluation & risk assessment; designing
and developing SHE promotional materials & publications; facilitating organisations in
celebrating various campaigns e.g. Road Safety Awareness Week, National Safety Day/

About this course:
The Safety & Health hazards of workers and other employees, including women at the
workplace have been a cause of concern for a long time. Many of them are exposed
to dangerous working conditions and other occupational hazards at the workplace. It
is critical for employers and other responsible persons to be more conscious of such
hazards, take preventive measures to avoid accidents, and to ensure that norms of safety,
health and hygiene are adhered to. It is equally important for workers and employees to
understand the hazards of their occupations and be aware of the appropriate preventive
measures. Safety is everyone’s responsibility, and building a safer and healthier work
environment should be managements top priority. Adopting proper safety procedures
begins with individuals, and will help in the development of preventive culture.
This course will educate an individual employee about identification, measurement,
prevention and control of workplace-related hazards.

The course is aimed for the new employees, Supervisors, Managers from all Industries
An overwhelming response was received for twelve batches of the E-learning course
on “Industrial Safety". More than 625 participants registered for 12 batches. We have
also conducted 2 special batches.
Course Contents:
1. Introduction to Industrial Safety.
2. Statutory Legislations – An overview
3. Basic principles of accident prevention.
4. Basics of Fire Prevention & Protection.
5. Personnel Protective Equipments.
6. Safety in Material Handling.
7. Industrial Hygiene & Occupational Health.
Course Structure:
• Duration : 45 days
• Modules: Five Modules covering above topics.
• Course Fee: ` 5000/- (inclusive of 18% GST) to be paid at the time of registration.
• Payment can be made by DD / Cheque / Internet Payment Gateway /NEFT. Fees is
inclusive of all applicable taxes.
• Fees once paid will not be refunded. ` 2,950 /- for unsuccessful participants with a
grace period of 25 days.
• Examination: There are 5 modules. Each module has online test. The passing criteria
of each module is 50 % . The test will comprise of 20 objective questions and the time
limit is 20 minutes. Participant will be given 3 attempts to pass the module. Unless the
participant clears the module, he/she cannot proceed further to the next module. If the
participant is unable to pass any module in 3 attempts, the course will get terminated
automatically.
• Certificate: After successful completion of the Course, a certificate will be issued.
