The Weather
In class, we have been studying the weather and weather
disasters. Flooding, hurricanes, tornados, thunderstorms, and
lightning can affect our homes, our safety, and the food we eat.
We have also explored the science of weather forecasting. For
this project, you are to gather information form the resources
below regarding the following topics:

 The causes/formation of severe weather conditions


 The dangers associated with each
 Precautions that should be taken

Laboratory – Learn more about hurricanes from

 The National Hurricane Center – The national
Weather Center provides a great deal of
information at this site about the current storm
season, tracking information, and weather
outlooks. Be sure to spend some time here.
 NOAA Photo Library – Tornados- Explore
images of tornados presented here. Look for
similarities and differences between the storm
systems.
 National Geographic – Tornados- Learn about
how the tornadoes form and die and why is
more difficult to forecast them.
